"Oi, where do you think you're going?"
I squint over my shoulder at the voice.
Lucas is standing near the bed, hand on his hip. Looking at me as if I have broken dishes in the sink. Or. Something. I don't know.
It's a disapproving, exasperated look, at least I can say that much.
"...What?"
He huffs and walks over to me. One hand reaches up and gently touches my cheek, and he shakes his head. "You've been spending so much time with May. I demand to get some time with you as well."
I squint at him. "...Shouldn't you be focused on trying to-"
"No." He huffs. "Today I want to focus on you."
"You're...going to be insufferable, aren't you."
He grins. "Yes."
"Lucas-"
"Diane. Diane." His hand moves from my cheek to my shoulder, and he leans in. "Please. Let's take a moment for us. I haven't had time just with you in so long."
"Because we're in the middle of a crisis."
