Solving a Problem
It was night and everyone was in their respective rooms going to sleep. It was decided that Hinata was going to sleep with Naruko in her room for tonight. They would clean out their attic tomorrow after both her and Naruto finished meeting up with their team. Then also go out and buy things for Hinata to have in there. Just the necessities like a bed, wardrobe and a desk.
However right now it was an awkward night for Naruto as he kept turning in his bed. The same girl who had feelings for him that he was going to reject is now living with him. In the same house he's been indulging Kushina's and Naruko's naughty desires. Kushina even said to not even think that they were going to stop their shenanigans just because Hinata was here. This was just a recipe for disaster.
A question that kept repeating in Naruto's head seemed to keep repeating itself these past few days.
"The hell am I supposed to do?" He said to no one in particular as he stared at the ceiling while laying on his bed.
However before all that he needed to figure out how to deal with a certain problem that's been more and more prevalent as time went on. He was just ignoring it for the most part since it had only been a problem for himself but now it's gone to the point where it was affecting those around him. That was prevalent at last night's events.
Mizuki
His strength wasn't even something that dangerous, Naruto wasn't full of himself but Naruto knew where he stood. He wasn't the strongest there was but he did have strength. And he knew he certainly wasn't weak. He knows for a fact that if he were to battle Mizuki, Naruto would be the obvious victor.
Naruto couldn't just outright confront him and give him a beating though, doing something like that would only make things worse. He needed evidence to show that he was doing some unruly behavior. Hinata was there and saw him but he couldn't use her as a witness. Naruto first tried this with other friends earlier down the line however many in the village liked to believe 'they had motive to lie, since they seemed to have some twisted affection to the kyuubi'.
Load of bullshit. Some of the clan heads he was on friendly terms with since they were the parents of his friends. However they always seemed to keep him an arms length away, not that he blames them but it just means he's unsure if he could ask them for help. He needed someone that he wasn't associated with where it would be unbiased. Unfortunately those are hard to come by thanks to what's sealed inside him. Why did things have to be so complicated?
He kept trying to think of who he could ask but he kept drawing a blank. Leaving him with only one option, he wasn't very fond of it.
"I guess I'll ask the Lord Hokage's help"
The Next Morning
Naruto had just finished showering and was now getting ready, Kushina nor Naruko didn't come into his room this morning to try and start something to his relief. After he finished getting dressed he went and left his room. As soon as he opened the door he was met with the indigo haired beauty that was Hinata, dressed in her usual attire. She seemed to be heading downstairs.
She turned to Naruto seeing him come out of his room, "G-Good morning Naruto-kun" She blushed before quickly turning away and rushing down stairs. Naruto didn't get the chance to speak with Hinata last night after everything that happened.
It seemed she was still shy around him, or maybe she was embarrassed with herself from the conversation. It could've been many things but he didn't try to dwell on it too much.
"Oh, Naru-nii good morning! Sleep well last night, did any late night visitor go to your room?" Naruko said in a teasing manner, insinuating if Kushina had come to his room for some 'family bonding' time.
"No visitors, though I did have a little trouble sleeping so it was probably for the best" Naruto didn't know how Naruko felt about him and Kushina doing what they did. The only time she mentioned it was right before he and Naruko did the act. They didn't really ever get the chance to talk about it since then. If she's able to make a joke about her coming to my room last night he's probably guessing she doesn't mind it too much.
"You had trouble sleeping?" She scooted closer to him and placed a finger on his chest and moved it in a circular motion.
"Maybe I should have joined you in bed, and tired you out so slee-" Naruto's face was mischievous but abruptly it was removed and replaced with something else.
"Actually I should really hurry up and eat so I can meet up with my team" And Naruko quickly went down stairs before Naruto had the chance to say anything.
'Okay, that was definitely weird' Naruto couldn't help but notice, what just happened there?
He went downstairs and headed to the dining table where Kushina, Naruko, and Hinata were seated and enjoying the breakfast Kushina had prepared for them. Naruko had just gotten downstairs and she was already halfway done with her food…
"Naruko stop eating so fast!" Kushina had yelled out to her, Naruko responding something that wasn't understandable since her mouth was full.
"Naruko, you shouldn't talk with your mouth full," Hinata said with an awkward smile.
Naruto went over to his seat where his plate of food was waiting for him, all 3 that were at the table had a different reaction when seeing him. Kushina gives a playful smirk to him, Hinata blushing looking at her food, averting her gaze away from Naruto. Naruko nearly chokes on her food and turns to face away from Naruto.
"N-Naruko are you okay?!" Hinata exclaimed, worried for her best friend.
Kushina replaced her smirk with a scowl, "This is why I said to stop eating so fast!"
Naruko raised her hand to Hinata, letting her know she was fine. "Thanks Hinata, but I'm fine really" Naruko trying to compose herself. Naruto wanted to ask what happened just moments ago outside of his room. But decided it'd be best to ask in private.
"Oh and Hinata, don't forget that we need to go shopping for stuff for your new room once you're finished with whatever you're doing with your team. Head back home once you're finished so me and you can go get what you need" Kushina wanted to remind her before she leaves.
"Yes, I'll be sure to head straight home as soon as we're finished" Hinata glanced at Naruto but only for a moment after Naruko started speaking.
"Actually Hinata instead, why don't we meet up when we're both done with meeting our teams, so we can do your shopping together. Let's meet up around 5, we should both be dismissed by that time" Hinata had no problem with this, while she had no problems with Kushina. She would much rather shop with Naruko instead.
"I have no problem with that, however we should ask for Kushina-san permission firs-"
"It's no problem at all, I'll just give you guys the money to shop now since I won't be going. Actually this works out nicely, while you go shopping I'll have Naruto come help me empty out the attic" She looked at Naruto, giving him a knowing smile. Letting him know they'll be doing more than cleaning.
"Actually I had planned to pay Lord Hokage a visit once we finished with our Shinobi duties," Naruto informed them.
Everyone had a surprised look on their face, "That's unusual of you to do, is there something wrong with your team?" Kushina questioned him.
"No nothing like that, just wanted to ask him a personal question." Naruto didn't want to lie to Kushina. But if she learned the problems Mizuki was giving him, she would no doubt go kill him. Effortlessly. And that could cause some problems which he wanted to avoid.
"While you're there tell Jiji I said hi, I haven't been by his office in a while" Naruko said, as she got up from the table as she just finished her food.
"I'm gonna head out now, even though Kakashi-sensei will probably be late again I don't want to be the last one our team to show up" She went to place her dished in the water as Kushina got up take money out of her person to hand to Naruko.
"Arlight, and here. This should be enough for everything" Kushina handed her a large sum of money.
"Enough?! This is more than enough! Hinata looks like we'll be able to treat ourselves with some ramen on our way back" Naruko said as she ran out the house before Kushina could try and take some back.
Naruto and Hinata had finished with their breakfast by now.
"Thank you for the breakfast Kushina-san, we'll be heading off now as well" Hinata said as Naruto thanked her for the breakfast as well and followed suit.
"I shouldn't take too long talking with Lord Hokage so I'll be able to come back soon enough to help clean out the attic" After all he did still want to help Kushina if possible.
"Alright, and send Hiruzen my regards. He's always busy with paperwork, tell him he should join us for dinner one of these days" Kushina remembered back to the day Minato died, Hiruzen felt so guilty for not being able to prevent such a tragedy. Kushina tried to reassure him that it wasn't his fault. But she knows he still felt some guilt for what happened that night.
"I'll be sure to let him know" and with that Naruto and Hinata left.
Kushina was left to wash the dishes.
'Maybe if I finish up with the attic before Naruto gets here, we could have some fun before the girls come back' Kushina couldn't help but think.
Naruto and Hinata were walking to training grounds where they were designated to meet at. They both were walking in silence as they both didn't know how to break the ice. Hinata seemingly reverts back to being the shy girl, and Naruto is not so sure how to approach this situation.
On one hand the reason he wanted to reject her was because she was the heir to the Hyuga clan and it wasn't a problem any more. However he still can't be in a relationship with her since he still has, well whatever you call what he has with Kushina and Naruko.
But if he were to reject her should he want a reason, he couldn't just not say anything. With these thoughts going through his head on what to do, it was a very awkward walk to the training grounds.
At the Hokage Tower
'My team is pretty good from what I can tell, it's nice to know I'm the strongest of the 3 of us. Hinata was a lot stronger than I was expecting. And Tenten is very versatile with the vast amount of weapons and tools she has at her disposal' Naruto finished walking up the stairs and was now on the top floor heading towards the Hokage's office.
'Today's training with them was pretty good, except for the obvious tension between him and Hinata. Right as it was time to end their session, Kurenai-sensei had asked Hinata to wait for a minute to talk with her while giving me a quick glance. No doubt she wanted to know what was going on' He stopped thinking of the event earlier as he reached the doors of his destination.
Naruto knocked on the door, waiting for permission to enter.
"Enter"
Naruto opened the doors and to his surprise there was not only the Hokage but also the silver haired jonin that was the leader of his sister's team.
"Ah Naruto my boy, it's good to see you up and walking again. You gave many of us a scare when your family found you" The man who was seated behind the desk with the Kage hat on his head.
"I apologize for worrying everyone, and it's also good to see you too. As well as you Kakashi-sensei" Naruto said to the Hogake before looking over to the Jonin that was standing in front of the Hokage's desk with an open book in his hand, the one Jiraiya writes. It seems they were in the middle of something, so he'll just quickly get to the point so he doesn't take anymore of their time.
"Oh Naruto, it's been a while. I heard what happened to you, I'm sorry I haven't come by to visit. I was away on a mission and only had returned a few days ago" Kakashi had apologized, Naruto not knowing that Kakashi was actually meeting with the Hokage to discuss him.
You see both the Hokage and Kakashi were both fond of Naruto, him reminding the both of them of the late 4th Hokage. In which they did not fail to mention to him. Naruko has quite the friendly relationship with the two, often calling the Hokage "Jiji". To Naruto's surprise the Hokage is okay with it, fond of it even. He had said to Naruto he wouldn't mind if he did the same, this was years ago when both Naruto and Naruko were children. And at the time did.
However as Naruto grew older and was more aware of what a "Hokage" actually is and that Naruto wasn't actually an Uzumaki he had changed quite a few things. One being that he no longer referred to the Hokage as "Jiji" but with his actual respectful title. The hokage remembered being a bit saddened the day Naruto had started to do this but said nothing about it, if Naruto no longer wanted to call him that. There was nothing he could do about it.
Kushina had taken it upon herself to train both Naruto and Naruko when they were old enough. However there were a few others who took a particular interest in wanting to train the two as well in which Kushina had all and welcomed it. One of these people was Kakashi. He had always admired and respected his sensei and Hokage, that was Minato. He always wished he could've helped him during the night of the Kyuubi attack. However, for what he couldn't do for him that night, he would make up for it by doing what he could for the family of his beloved sensei.
He knew that Naruto wasn't Minato's actual kid since Kushina herself told them, and he trusted Kushina and she had no reason to lie about it. However he would be lying if he said he never had his moments of doubt. Naruto just reminded him so much of Minato, and he was so identical to Naruko. That along with the fact he was also a natural born shinobi with amazing talent. That last one could be a coincidence, however that appearance was so identical Kakashi couldn't help but wonder. Maybe it's because of this he had no problem treating both Naruto and Naruko the same because it just feels as if Naruto was Minato's kid as well.
"It's okay Kakashi-sensei, no need to apologize, I know the life of a Shinobi is sometimes a busy one" Naruto walked closer in the room so he was also in front of the Hokage's desk, standing right beside Kakashi.
"Actually regarding that incident, I was hoping I could speak to you Lord Hokage about it" with Naruto saying that, both Kakashi and Hiruzen narrowed their eyes on him.
"You see, I actually do remember who did that to me. Or the one who was most likely in charge of it anyways. The others were strangers I wasn't familiar with. I wanted to-"
"Was it Mizuki?" Kakashi had interrupted Naruto, he was already assuming he was the one behind it.
There was a moment of silence, mainly because of Naruto being a bit shocked that Kakashi had guessed correctly.
"Yes" He answered.
"Naruto, I should inform you that the reason I'm actually here was to talk about what happened to you with the Hokage. I had already suspected that Mizuki may have been involved, I was trying to gather information however there's only so much I'm allowed to do to a fellow leaf shinobi or citizen of the leaf. So I was here to ask for permission from the Hokage to be allowed to take… a different approach" Kakashi knew better to use rough methods, but even using jutsu's like a genjutsu wasn't allowed. Which was making things troubling for him since those that hated Naruto acted like a cult refusing to rat someone out. Though once he gets the Hokage's approval he's certain that will quickly change.
"I-I didn't know that you were looking into it, thank you Kakashi-sensei" Naruto didn't show it as he was trying to be professional in front of the Hokage but he was holding back a smile. He really wasn't expecting that and it was a very welcomed surprise.
"Naruto, are you certain that it was Mizuki. You must know it's a serious accusation you're putting on a fellow leaf shinobi" Hiruzen had already believed it was him as soon as Naruto confirmed Kakashi's suspicion. However in the position of power he must be absolutely certain and not play favorites.
"I am certain, I should also add that he was also involved with another incident last night"
"With the Hyuga's?" Hiruzen questioned.
Naruto realized that there wasn't much that didn't reach the ears of the Hokage regarding what goes on in the village, but he was still surprised he knew despite it happening in a place where not many people were around.
Hiruzen knew that something happened last night, since it was for certain the cause of the heir to the Hyuga clan Hinata stepping down and moving out. He didn't know the exact cause of it yet but he didn't expect neither Naruto nor Mizuki to be involved in it. If that's the case he would have to make this a priority since this was also affecting the most prominent clan of the Hidden Leaf.
Naruto was going to explain the full thing but before he could the Hokage had already made his decision.
"Kakashi, you have permission to use your ninjutsu on any suspects you have regarding this issue, however no lethal force. Is that understood" He looked at Kakashi, letting him know not to do anything rash.
"Yes Lord Hokage" Kakashi knew that he would get answers in no time at all.
"Naruto, does anyone else know of this" He was mainly interested if Kushina did since it wasn't making any sense that she wasn't taking any form of action despite everything Naruto had told them.
"Hinata saw Mizuki with what happened last night, aside from that no one else knows" Naruto couldn't think of anyone else that knew.
"You didn't mention any of this to Kushina?"
"No, when it comes to Naruko and I, Kushina can often… be too protective" He has many memories of Kushina sending many to the hospital when she saw someone mistreat him in public. And many times she gets in trouble for it, since it occurred quite often. Though it became less and less over the years since people stopped berating Naruto when Kushina was around.
"I fear what she may do and what may consequences she would have faced if she did something without any proper evidence" Naruto stated, hoping the two would understand.
"Hmmm. Kakashi, go gather what you can but let's keep what we discuss here a secret. It's best if we don't make Mizuki aware of us investigating him. Also see who he associates with and try to find if there are any others that may be giving him a hand in this" He told Kakashi before turning to Naruto.
"As for you, I'm going to have one of my Anbu have you under surveillance while Kakashi is doing this. If he acts again, there's no better evidence than catching a culprit in the act. Neko." As soon as he said that, an Anbu member appeared in the center of the room crouching down on one knee with her head down.
"From now on you are to monitor Naruto and make sure you aren't seen" The Neko looked up and glanced towards Naruto before returning her gaze to the Hokage.
"As you wish" Neko said as she disappeared once more.
'She's not going to be seeing what happens in our house, right?' Naruto was praying to whatever god was out there hoping that wasn't the case.
"Naruto, just as I told Kakashi not a word of what happened here leaves this room. Am I understood"
"Yes Lord Hokage"
And with that both Naruto and Kakashi left the office, leaving the Hokage to further think about the given situation. He's aware of the hate that Naruto receives from a large portion of the Village. He's unsure of what to do to make everyone realize that they're mistaken. It reminds him of the situation of how people viewed the Uchiha despite them doing nothing wrong. They received unjust treatment, so much that they had enough to try and do a coup d'état. Which leads to him feeling guilty for not being able to prevent what happened with the Uchiha clan and promising himself he won't ever fail like that again.
At the Uzumaki Residence
"I'm home!" Naruto announces, from the shoes at the front door he knows that Naruko and Hinata haven't come back home yet. Leaving only Naruto and Kushina here.
'I wasn't able to see this 'Neko' person at all when heading home, I know that the Anbu is monitoring me but it's still hard to believe that I can't even notice the person keeping an eye on me even though I know they are. I wonder if there's any type of training that can help with this in the future, I don't want to be trailed and not notice in any future missions'. Naruto took off his shoes and started to head up to the attic, wanting to see the progress that's been made and see what he could help with. However before he could take a single step up the stairs he was grabbed and thrown onto a couch.
It was so quickly he wasn't able to react, as he tried to get up there were two slender hands were keeping him laying back down onto the couch.
"Naughty naughty Naruto, how could you keep your mother waiting for so looong" Kushina leaned in so she could whisper that in his ear. Her bountiful soft chest pressing into his, as much as he wanted to enjoy this feeling. They were in the living room and there's a good chance Neko could be watching.
"Wait, listen we can't be doing this here-" He couldn't finish his sentence as Kushina pressed her lips against his, pushing her tongue inside his. Quickly turning this into an instance make out session.
If Neko found out, would she report to the Hokage? He doesn't know and it's something that couldn't be risked. He tried to push Kushina off but to no avail. She wanted him and she would be damn if she wouldn't get some of that dick.
Naruto could only think of one thing.
'At least Naruko and Hinata aren't home-'
"We're home!" Naruko yelled as she opened the front door.
So that's the end of the rewrite, in the original chapter I added these little bits of other characters that were separate from the chapter. There's no real reason to remove or change it so I just left it. AN at the bottom.
At Kurenai's House
'Hinata doesn't seem too down ever since moving out from the Hyuuga compound. However she never said why she moved out, and she moved in with the Uzumaki's. Two of my students living with each other, hopefully this doesn't cause any problems in the future'
The red eyed, black haired beauty as she was reading a book while drinking tea on the couch in her living room. She was wearing a red long sleeve shirt that was slightly baggy but still couldn't hide the size of her generous bust and black sweatpants. As she was sipping her tea, her thoughts then traveled to her other student, Tenten.
She has an arsenal of a variety of weapons and seems to be proficient with all of them, maybe her family business owning a weapon shop has something to do with it. There are not many strong kunoichi so she's looking forward to how she'll progress in her future just like Hinata's. Tenten seems to share the same sentiment as well. It looks like she won't have a problem getting along with her.
Then there was the last remaining member of her team, Naruto.
Personally she knows not much about the boy, just that he is the jinchuuriki and lives with the Uzumaki's as well. That and the prejudice he receives from the village populace, after all she had stopped any mistreatment that happened in her presence. That didn't mean they were necessarily close, she just pitied him but nothing more than that. She wasn't expecting to have him on her team but from what she could tell Hinata seems smitten with him.
For the team exercises they had done in the past two days, she was quite surprised with the skill level Naruto was at. He was currently the strongest of her three students, though the gap wasn't much she was expecting Hinata with her receiving elite training from the Hyugas. Apparently she was underestimating Kushina's personal training or Naruto's potential.
Hinata was the second strongest of the three leaving TenTen to be the weakest, she could tell TenTen looked disappointed at finding that out. However Tenten cheered herself back up saying that she'll be catching and surpassing the two in no time. Kurenai's glad she didn't let that get to her for too long.
With the line up she had, she decided to make Hinata have a supporting role being an efficient sensory ability with the Byakugan. Leaving Naruto and Tenten to be the heavy hitters. Tenten was surprised that she was given that role despite Hinata being stronger than her, however if that's what the Jonin thought best then she wasn't going to argue. The teamwork between the three was good but could definitely use some improvement, however that is expected from a new team that hasn't worked with each other before.
Kurenai was quite content with the team she was given. However she still couldn't help feeling uneasy about Naruto with him being a jinchuuriki. She understands that there's a seal however if they ever encounter an enemy who was skilled enough to tamper with it. It was her duty as his sensei to keep him from getting out of control. Is her Genjustsu good enough to keep a tailed beast at bay? Is she good enough to make sure her team comes out in one piece if that were to occur?
She was glad that the third Hokage trusted her enough to have him with this, however despite that she couldn't help but doubt her abilities.
These thoughts have been clouding her mind ever since she met her team. However this was the hand she had and she was going to do everything she could to make sure everything worked out.
Who knows, despite her worries about the blonde boy he may be the greatest thing their team had to offer. Little did she know how much she believes this to be true in the future but not in the way she first thought it did.
Tenten
Being the weakest in the team really hurt her self-confidence however she tried her best to get over it. She was actually happy with the teammates she had, Hinata was already a good friend of hers so that's automatically a good start.
And while she personally wasn't close with Naruto, she knows him well enough that he's a great guy and not that bad looking, which is an upside. His strength was shocking but not unwelcome, sure she didn't want to be the weakest but in a world where it's kill or be killed. A strong ally is always welcomed.
Her sensei was also a Kurenai! What most kunoichi aspire to become like, which is just amazing to have her as a sensei. Despite her thinking that, she was also wishing for a sense that would be able to help her be more proficient with her arsenal of weapons. However, she'll just have to believe in Kurenai's ability to properly train them to be the best they can be.
With that she finished up her self-training and went back to help her father mend the store.
Hiomi
On one note, she was really glad she knew that Hinata is a safe place while she's throwing her tantrum of moving out. On the other hand, it was a mild nuisance of Kushina coming over saying how her kids never did such a thing, and not only that repeatedly stating that Hiomi's did and of all places to go to she went to Kushina. Her constantly rubbing it in her face was tiresome to say the least. But she was the esteemed leader of the Hyuga clan, such things wouldn't get underneath her skin. Or at least that's what she likes to tell herself.
However Kushina seems to be unaware of just why exactly she decided to move out, not knowing that the two couldn't see eye to eye of her being in a relationship with her adoptive son, Naruto. For as much as she could, she would like to keep it that way. Hanabi and Neji don't agree with Hiomi's standpoint and are siding with Hinata, however they're too young to see the real picture. The boy's not the problem, but what is sealed inside and what the reputation carries with it.
Which is why she was biding her time, waiting for the next moment when the boy was alone. So they could have a discussion of what and why certain things must be done.
Hanabi
She was very much on her sister's side on this, she has been nothing but the perfect child never asking anything from her family. She knows how kind her sister is and would often take the blame for her mistakes so Hanabu wouldn't be punished. Hanabi truly cherished her sister and wanted her to be happy. Her opinion of Naruto is not the same opinion that Hinata shares but it's not a negative one.
While she would be upset at her mother for making Hinata want to leave, she would say this is the very few times she was okay with it for how the end results turned out. Her sister is now living in the same house with her crush! If that wasn't the best outcome for Hinata, Hinabi has no idea what was.
Though she'll be sure to have a good word with Naruto and make sure he knows to not ever dare to hurt her sister. After all, he doesn't have a chance if it's her and Neji teaming up against him.
