Aleezeh confronted Hassan.
"You were involved."
Hassan sighed.
"Yes."
Aleezeh's heart dropped.
"Why?"
"Your mother asked me to help her."
"With what?"
"To collect evidence."
"Then why did you pretend to betray me?"
Hassan looked at her.
"I didn't know if you were ready to hear the truth."
"You should have trusted me."
"I was wrong."
Aleezeh remained silent.
Hassan continued.
"Arslan wasn't working alone. The video was part of a plan to pressure your family."
"And my mother's death?"
"We don't know yet whether it was directly connected. But the evidence suggests that someone wanted her investigation stopped."
Aleezeh felt angry.
"But we can prove it."
Hassan nodded.
"We have enough evidence to give everything to the authorities."
Aleezeh looked at her mother's letter.
She remembered the words.
