Today is April 15, 2175. I, Zephyr, am writing a report about my childhood because my superior demanded it… Well, where should I begin… Let's see, I guess I can start from here.
It all began on April 8, 2161, when I was just six years old. A cold war had just started, and as a child, I didn't really understand much about it. All I remember was that there were two sides fighting each other: the anarchists and the communists. Since I never understood it well, I remained indifferent. My schoolmates, however, were not so neutral. They understood nothing either, but they always pretended to know everything. They only believed what their parents believed and never questioned it.
Because I was indifferent to all of this, I had no friends. They considered me an enemy of both sides. But everything changed on the 13th, that was the day I met a girl from the nation opposing mine… Oh, right, I almost forgot to mention: this war was happening between the AEA (Autonomous Etheran Anarchy) and the SCV (Sovranist Commune of Veldor), two nations that had once been very close.
Back to the story. On that day, a new student was transferred to my school. For the first week, nobody knew anything about her or her family. But a week later, rumors started spreading that the SCV had sent spies to the AEA. Because of this, everyone assumed she might be a spy or the daughter of one. Things got worse when she openly admitted that she had been born and raised in the SCV. Many students began mistreating her, from humiliating her in front of others to physically hurting her. This continued for about a month.
I had no friends myself, being considered an enemy by both sides, and she was being persecuted simply for being from the opposite nation. I decided that I could no longer stay alone and could no longer stand by watching her suffer. I wanted to help her, to at least try to be there for her. So I made my move, I approached her and became her friend, knowing that she might have no one else to support her. And that's exactly what I did.
