They boarded the ship one by one, walking across the deck with a mixture of awe and excitement. Everything about "The Emperor" screamed power—the reinforced hull, the state-of-the-art sails, the flag waving at the top of the 3 masts, and the specialized cabins, each tailored for their specific needs. Yuma moved through the ship silently, inspecting every corner, his mind busy with thoughts of the journeys ahead.
As Yuma made his way to the stern, he noticed something out of place. Hovering near the captain's quarters was the alien—the same one from last night, the size of a cat with its short pink fur, wavy horns, and split tail. Its purple gem eyes shimmered as it floated around, as if exploring its new surroundings. Yuma blinked, frozen in place for a moment.
"You again?" The alien chirped softly, floating toward him. Yuma furrowed his brow, unsure of what to make of it.
"What are you doing here?" To his surprise, the alien made a sound that was almost… understandable. A soft, melodic hum that seemed to carry a meaning this time. It hovered closer, its eyes locking with Yuma's. Then, in an instant, Yuma felt a strange warmth fill his chest, a sensation of connection—like the one he'd experienced with Kinsa, as if a familial bond of sorts.
"You're… joining us?" Yuma asked, his voice filled with confusion and surprise. The alien nodded—or at least, that's what Yuma interpreted it as. Its split tail waved slowly behind it, and for the first time, Yuma realized that this creature, whatever it was, had decided to stay with them.
"Of all the things…" Yuma muttered to himself, scratching the back of his head. He had faced demon lords, fought powerful enemies, and led a rebellion. Yet, somehow, the idea of this small, strange creature officially joining their crew was the most unexpected twist of all. The alien floated beside him, content as if this decision had been made long ago. Yuma sighed, a small smirk forming on his lips.
"I guess I can't argue with you." He turned and called to the others, who were busy exploring the rest of the ship.
"Hey! Looks like we've got a new crew member." The crew gathered around, curious and somewhat amused by the small floating alien. Kinsha tilted her head, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"That's the thing from before, right? Is it really joining us?"
"Looks like it," Yuma replied, crossing his arms.
"Not that I understand it much better than any of you." Boombox laughed, throwing his arm over Yuma's shoulder.
"Well… if the scrolls we found in the Wanter sea weren't foreshadowing the Alien joining or alliance, I don't know what else to say!" Cani walked closer, observing the alien with a thoughtful expression.
"This creature helped us defeat Ikati. Its power is beyond what we can see… Am I saying that right?" Yuma nods. Ika was already grinning, excited at the prospect.
"This is gonna be great! I wonder what kind of powers it has." Yuma just shook his head, his smirk lingering.
"We'll figure it out along the way. For now, let's get ready to set sail. We've got a lot ahead of us." As the crew continued exploring the ship, Yuma took one last glance at the alien, who was now floating near the helm. 'Guess I'm not the only one with unexpected allies,' he thought. With a final nod, he joined the others, preparing to embark on their next adventure aboard "The Emperor."
The crew gathered at the deck, staring up in awe at their flag waving atop the mast. The new ship's massive sails billowed in the wind, casting a long shadow over them as they stood. Boombox smirks.
"She's a beauty," Yuma, arms still healing but wrapped in fresh bandages, gave a nod. The ship before him represented their future—one filled with danger, freedom, and endless possibility. Cani exhales. Her voice is steady but carrying an undertone of excitement as well.
"Let's see what we're working with," She led the way into the main cabin. Kinsha sprinted forward, her youthful energy bursting.
"I get first pick of my room!" she called back with a grin.
"Not if I beat you to it," Ika chuckled with a playful smirk, already morphing partially into his Komodo dragon form to speed past her.
The main deck was enormous, easily accommodating Moon's towering frame. He ducked into the doorway that led below deck, Boombox trailing behind him.
"We should test out the sound system later," Boombox mused, his mind clearly on the party potential. Moon simply grunted in agreement, ducking to avoid hitting his head on the ceiling. Yuma watched them, 'Haven't felt like this in forever…' Kinsha rushes towards the stairs, quickly followed by Ika. 'right… this is what I'm fighting for…' The alien hovered near the ship's edge, staring out at the sea, its large, glowing eyes reflecting the waves. Cani caught Yuma's gaze.
"What do you think?" she asked, stepping beside him. Yuma ran his hand along the smooth railing.
"It feels like more than just a ship... It's a symbol of what we've become." Cani nods.
"Let's hope it can carry us through everything that's coming," she said quietly.
They descended into the lower deck, where Kinsha and Ika were already inspecting the crew quarters. Ika had chosen a room near the back, where he could have more privacy to shift between forms. Kinsha was excitedly going through cabinets, claiming one space after another. She smiles brightly.
"Look at the size of this storage!" Cani found her way to the medical bay, a sleek, well-equipped room.
"This… this will do nicely," she smiled, satisfied with the strategic design. Moon had already staked out the cargo hold.
"Enough space to fit a whole army's worth of supplies, almost as much space as a Military vessel" he noted, though Yuma couldn't tell if he was pleased or merely being observant. Boombox was busy setting up in the central gathering area, placing his audio gear carefully in a corner. Yuma turns and sees a sign labeled:
Captains quarters
