Chapter 8 - 8. I'll Let You Go!

The following morning, Kael entered Yuru's room, his expression calm but with a hint of seriousness. He approached her and said, "Princess Yuru, you have been summoned by the Queen. She wishes to see you."

(Huh.! summoned by the Queen.)

Yuru's curiosity piqued at this unexpected summons. She couldn't help but wonder what might be the reason for this unusual request. "The Queen typically visited me in my room if she needed to meet me, so this summons is out of the ordinary." Yuru contemplated the possible reasons as she prepared to meet with her mother, the Queen.

"It's probably because she found out I sneaked out and was trying to go outside the palace. Because there's no other reasons I can think of, for her to summon me like that." Yuru thought as she was outside the Queen's room, trying to come up with possible reasons for her summon.

"Enter," the Queen's voice echoed from behind the closed door, and Yuru entered her mother's room as requested.

Upon entering, Yuru's gaze swept the room, only to find it devoid of any presence besides her mother.

Yuru approached her mother, her movements displaying diligence, and politely inquired, "Mother, is there something you require of me?"

The Queen, her face wearing a serious expression, beckoned her daughter to sit on her lap. Yuru complied, settling onto her mother's lap, though she couldn't help but feel a shiver of apprehension.

The Queen's face remained calm, but a palpable undercurrent of anger was unmistakable in her voice as she asked, "Yuru, where were you yesterday night?"

(I was right on the mark, she definitely knows, I can feel it. Now what should I say, should I be honest or try to play dumb.)

Yuru felt a sense of unease wash over her. Her mother's calm tone contradicted the anger she sensed beneath the surface. She tried to evade the question, her voice slightly trembling as she said, "Did something happen? I was in my room last night, sleeping as usual."

The Queen's gaze bore into Yuru, awaiting an answer to the question that hung heavily in the air.

(Ohh!.. no ohh!... no playing dumb won't work if she's that angry.)

"Don't lie to me," the Queen's words carried a stern warning, and she sighed before continuing. "Yuru, what you did last night was dangerous. There are creatures and monsters that prey on humans in the forest beyond these walls."

(Creatures and monsters that prey on humans and sounds exciting actually. Are they like monsters similar to some fantasy movies or stuff. Like big lizards)

Yuru absorbed her mother's words, and her expression shifted from unease to anticipation as the Queen made an unexpected offer. "Very well, if you're so eager to see the outside world, I will allow you to go, but only once."

Yuru's excitement and joy overflowed, and she couldn't contain her delight. She leaped off her mother's lap and began to jump with exuberance.

(I can go out, even if it's only for once I'll take that offer.)

The Queen continued, "Nami, your brother, will accompany you. Remember, you are not to interact with any people during your excursion, and you must always stay by your brother's side. You will need to don a disguise just in case someone spots you."

She added, "You won't be going into populated areas, so there won't be many people, but do not forget my words."

Overwhelmed with happiness, Yuru thanked her mother with a bright, sincere smile. Her mother's heart softened, the anger replaced by a mother's love for her child.
