Chapter 42: Out of Options
Among the dust Ochaco groaned, her body felt so exhausted that she didn't think she could make her finger twitch. Her ears were ringing and the dust cloud made it impossible to see around her. She wasn't sure if she had won or lost, the only thing she could tell was she had gone far beyond her normal limits. Ochaco then noticed that she wasn't standing, the broken cement pressing up against her left cheek and body confirmed it. Yet as she was on the ground, all she could hope was in the middle of all this, Gizon was also on the ground, or if she was lucky, had been blown out of the ring.
In the middle of the arena, Gizon was in so much pain, more than he had experienced in a while. Including the USJ as he had pushed himself far enough for his pain center to turn off, but now he was feeling everything. He had used all of his extra energy in his final attack, leaving with nothing to direct to Hyper Regeneration. He could feel said quirk still working, yet despite its name it still took it a week to heal a broken bone. He had more than a single broken bone, in fact the only thing that wasn't broken in his body was his spirit. Which had enough fuel left to leave him as the one standing, his spirit that made him fight through his exhaustion and raise his left arm to the sky. Bruise and cuts evident all for his body, showing the fight and spirit he had to win.
Gizon wasn't one for dramatic flares, but the pose felt right to make. It was All Might's, technically the exact opposite, something he always did after a hard battle. While Gizon had no public relation with All Might, except for being student and teacher, it felt right. All Might alright did to show his victory after a fight with a tough villain, but Gizon wasn't doing it for that.
Maybe it was to show that the next generation of heroes was something to be feared by the villains. Maybe it was to show that the next gen weren't going down without a fight. Maybe it was to show that they were going to become heroes, no matter what.
For Gizon it wasn't to show off. For him it was a declaration to All For One that he was done being a villain. That he would no longer rob and steal from society, being All For One's puppet. Now he would give back to society. This was what he had been working towards for the past two years and this felt like the real first step towards that goal.
Alright, alright before I lose some of you readers. There is an large author note at the end of this chapter, where I explain why and how I choose the winner. You're more than welcome to pause you're reading and scroll down to read it. However, if you do not like my explanation, you are more than welcome to leave this story behind. If you understand my reasoning, come back to this point and continue reading the chapter.
Among the thousand of views, cheering and screaming at Gizon's display, there was one that was giving off an aura of hate and death. Shigaraki was sitting in the bar that was the league hideout. The TV that usually showed Voice Only, had the Sports Festival on and he was told to watch by All For One. He hated the idea but still he followed his master's wishes.
Kurogiri was standing behind the bar, cleaning some glasses. It was hard to see what his emotion was, but he looked a little impressed. Then Shigaraki suddenly yelled and grabbed a stool. He grew the stool at the tv, but because he had touched it with all five fingers, the stool turned to dust before it hit the tv.
"Stupid brat, thinking he's All Might. It's like he is begging me to kill him. "Shigaraki huffed, how dare the student that had barely held back Nomu think so highly of himself.
"Yet he might have just revealed who he is." Came All For One's voice though the tv did not change.
"You think All Might passed One for All onto that brat." Shigaraki said, as he began to scratch his neck. All For One had explained that in basic terms, One For All boosted a person's strength and that glowing kid just proved he had titan level strength.
"No. I believe One for All was passed to the girl. Her registry has her as having a quirk by the name of Zero Gravity. My spy informed me how she first demonstrated One for All, she played it off as a special move regarding her first quirk." All For One said.
"If I may, what does this have to do with the eighth wielder's successor?" Kurogiri asked.
"For the moment we'll keep a close eye on her. However, her opponent's actions have garnered some interest. I believe he's someone that owes me a large debt. Asa Pakusu's son." All for One said, feeling the want to right so many wrongs arise, the feeling became almost as strong as wanting One for All back.
"That thief. How is his son a hero?" Shigaraki asked. He had met the Living Taser a few times and for some of the meeting his son had also attended. The son was more emotionless than Kurogiri and it ticked Shigaraki. Even with Shigaraki threatening to kill the son with Decay, even after a demonstration the kid said nothing and didn't react. He kept the same set in stone face he always had. Then there was having the Living Taser as a father, how could that punk possibly have gotten into UA.
"He calls himself Gizon Hisahito. His quirk: Energy Redirect. Similar name as Pakusu's son. And he just demonstrated quirks similar to the regeneration and force multiplier quirk I had given Pakusu's son as payment. Yet this level of strength, he did not show before while his father was under my employment." All for One said. He wasn't a forgetful man and Pakusu died owing him a large debt. And with him dead, that debt fell to the son.
"Would you like us to capture them?" Kurogiri asked. Having The Living Taser's son and the nine wielder on their side would be a massive shift in power. If they refused, All For One could take their power.
"Not at the moment. UA is on high alert and is aware of your warping quirk. If there is a time in the near future that presents an opportunity my spy will inform him. For now, do the same as the heroes, spend your time building your numbers. Those low level thugs you rallied for your previous attack were useless. This time around I suggest focusing on quality over quantity this time. Get yourself some elites." All For One said. As tempting as it was to reclaim such powerful quirks, he had waited enough time to be fine waiting some more.
The volume from the Sports Festival returned and Shigaraki refocused on it. As much as he hated it, the students being shown had been a problem during the USJ. And they were just going to get stronger and be a bigger problem down the road. Shigaraki scoffed as both of the students were being carried off the arena. Shigaraki pulled out his phone and dialed the number for All for One's new information broker. He had his new mission and he wasn't going to let it go up in smoke like last time.
In his pod, Izuku had his phone attached to the inside of the pod, allowing him to watch the match as the armor was assembled around him. Believing it was finally time to put it all on, to face Momo and her creation quirk. One of the last pieces assembled was the helmet and when it was assembled the HUD turned on and the match was center stage
The final clash happened, just as the armor was finished assembling. Izuku waited for the dust to disappear and the winner to be announced. Though the armor was finished and the front panels of the pod opened, Izuku didn't move until the winner was announced.
"And the person moving onto the Finals is Hisahito." Izuku was amazed. Gizon was clearly in pain, but he stood tall with his left arm high in the air. Izuku cheered as he recognized the pose. Then he noticed Ochaco, she was passed out on the floor. Her entire body was a wreck, almost matching the state Gizon's body was in. This caused Izuku to reflect on his offer to build support equipment for Ochaco so she didn't injury herself so often, he should probably make a note to remind him to start working on a set. But then he was drawn back to Gizon, with the injuries he and Ochaco had given each other, he would not be easily healed by Recovery Girl. And with how exhausted he clearly was, he might not be able to be healed today.
"If Izuku Midoriya and Momo Yaoyorozu could make their way to their waiting rooms. The arena will be fixed in 20 minutes." Present Mic announced, as yet against the arena had been damage, even worse than Ochaco's fight against Bakugo.
With the announcement Izuku sat up and stepped out of the pod. He instructed Jabisu to do a final systems check, while he walked around to get used to the suit. Over the next few minutes, Izuku threw a few punches and did some kicks. The armor didn't restrict him to a noticeable degree, yet he still felt like something was off. Yet with no time to really sit down and figure out what, Izuku had to hope everything would go his way.
Present Mic announced the five minute mark, then Jabisu asked, "Sir, you have an incoming call from Mei Hatsume, would you like me to put it on the main display?" Jabisu asked.
"Yes." Izuku said and Mei's contact photo appeared and the view of the arena moved to the side.
"Hey Midoriya, how's it going?" Mei asked as Izuku had disappeared and not called her. Though she had a pretty good idea of what he was doing. There had really only been one major project he had been working on since coming to UA.
"Good. I have the suit on. Going to use the remaining time to make sure everything's ready." Izuku said as he took a breath. This was do or die, either he made it to the finals, or he lost. He wasn't disillusioned enough to think he could just simply fight against Gizon, though with how injured he was, maybe he would be forced to forfeit. But Izuku won't accept first place without a fight, he wanted to know how he stood against the hero course's strongest student.
"You mean for your entrance. You're not really going to…"
"Hey you override the PA system for your demonstration. I'm just doing something to a lesser degree." Izuku said. At first when Izuku found out Mei had figured out how to override the PA System of the stadium, he tried to shut her down. But perhaps her craziness was starting to rub off on him because less than an hour longer he had asked for the ability to do the same. Even agreeing to so pointless promises from Mei.
And now it was time to introduce the world to his hero persona. Izuku threw one more punch and knew he was ready. Satisfied that he was as prepared as he could, Izuku headed over to the door and peaked his head out. Seeing that no one was in the hallway, Izuku stepped out and began walking to the elevator. "Jabisu, do me a favor and call the elevator."
"Working on it." Jabisu said and a minute later the elevator arrived at the same time Izuku arrived at the elevator.
After walking in, Izuku turned around and pressed the close door button, "Jabisu make sure this elevator doesn't open while I'm here." Izuku pressed the top floor button, once the doors were closed.
"Sir there seems to be a problem. Only School staff are allowed on the top floor." Jabisu said as the elevator didn't immediately start moving.
Izuku's eyes dropped to the panel that held the different buttons. He might not be to the level of coding to hack UA, but he could manually override the system by getting through the wiring. Yet that won't be necessary.
"Welcome Principal Nezu." The elevator suddenly said.
Izuku looked at the camera. Principal Nezu must have been watching him and gave him access. Izuku bowed slightly to the camera and rode the elevator all the way up. On the top floor, Izuku looked out and saw no one. He took off looking for a door with access to the roof. He found one but it was locked. Izuku thought about blasting the lock off with a small shot, but suddenly the door unlocked and swung up.
"I would prefer to minimize the damage to the building outside the arena." A text popped up from Principal Nezu, "I look forward to your plan."
"Jabisu, send a thank you." Izuku said, as he stepped through the door. He quickly climbed the stairs and was soon on the roof. He crawled over to the edge and looked down, giving him a good view of the fixed arena. He looked around and looked over the hundred pro heroes that were sitting, waiting in anticipation. Izuku smirked as he was sure all of them were about to see something new.
As Izuku waited, a red feather with a note tied to it, floated right in front of Izuku. Izuku grabbed the feather and pulled out the note. He unrolled it and found that it was a phone number. And with the red feather it came from, it was obviously who's number it was.
"Jabisu, call the number." Izuku said. A little blue light scanned the note, then Jabisu dialed the number.
Hawks immediately picked up and said, "Hey-a kid. What are you doing on the roof?"
"Waiting." Izuku answered as if that such have been obvious.
"Oh so you're going to make a grand entrance." Hawks laughed.
"Something like that." Izuku didn't want to give too much away. He hadn't even told Mei too many details. He wanted to take the world by surprise and storm, that way no one could ever forget who he was, or what he achieved.
"Well I got to say I like the new color scheme. Much better than the all gold suit you were wearing last time. And you were right, you look better in green." Hawks said, looking down at Izuku through a pair of binoculars.
"Thanks." Izuku looked himself over. Majority of the metal had a coat of green thermal paint, though Izuku had left a few golden accents. It was a much better design than Mark 1 and it was more fitting of a hero costumer. And it fit Izuku, making it his and his alone.
"Well I'll leave you to finish preparing. Good luck kid." Hawks said, then the call ended.
While Izuku continued to wait on the roof, Momo was in her waiting room. Her opponent was Izuku Midoriya from the support department. He had already proven him by taking out Sero and Shoto. Two heavier hitters and far better fighters than she was. But she had more information then they did. Izuku's repulsors, as Ochaco called them, were powerful and easily took care of Shoto's ice. Then there was his hidden swords, they were sharp and deadly, cutting through Sero's tape with ease. Then there was Izuku ability to fly. It gave him aerial advantage, along with being about to boot his speed along the ground. And it appeared he was mostly a ranged fighter, only getting in close if there was a big opening or if he had the chance to end the fight.
Momo sighed as she dropped her head into her hands, she had to stop herself from going down a rabbit hole. Izuku was from the support department, meaning he could possibly cook up anything and everything. And trying to plan for everything would distract Momo from planning about what she did know. Izuku made his gauntlets and boots known, they were important but were not the main factor.
The main factor for Izuku's equipment was the thing he wore on his chest. Momo was sure no one else had noticed until Izuku had burned a hole through his shirt with it. Momo had been quick to get a photo of it from the jumbotron. So she pulled out her phone and looked at the best photo. Whatever the device was, it was glowing just the same as Izuku's repulsors.
Momo noticed how all the wires from the gauntlets and boots seemed to trace back to the device. That had to meant that it was the power source of Izuku's equipment. And while it looked like a simple piece of technology, nothing simple would be able to provide the power Izuku was using from his gauntlets and boots. It had to be an extremely complex device, it probably took Izuku years to build and prototype it until he got it working. While Momo didn't understand how it work, she understood that device was Izuku's power source.
With that mind, Momo was about to focus on making a plan and the goal of it was simple, eliminate Izuku's power source.
"If Izuku Midoriya and Momo Yaoyorozu could make their way to the arena." Present Mic announced.
Momo stood up and pushed in her chair. She then left the room and walked to the arena. She was a hero course student that had gotten through recommendations. Izuku had been working with the element of surprise and there was no denying it had helped him greatly. But now he had shown his cards, Momo had been given time to plan. And with a plan she could be unstoppable.
"She's the maker of everything and has the deadly skill to back it. From Class 1-A, It's Momo Yaoyorozu." Present Mic said.
Momo walked out of the tunnel and as she climbed the steps, Present Mic said, "He's the designer of everything and is a mad scientist because of it. Welcome from the support department, Class 1-h, Izuku Midoirya."
Momo looked to where Izuku would appear, preparing to see him have something new to fight against her quirk. Yet her quirk was all internal and there was little that could stop it. However, Izuku didn't appear. Present Mic announced him again, but still nothing.
"Huh..." Present Mic said, not knowing where Izuku was or what from keeping him from coming down the tunnel. He began looking through the differents cameras of the stadium but was unable to locate the support course student.
"Izuku Midoriya you have 60 seconds…" Mr. Aizawa said, when suddenly the PA system got overridden, again.
"Jabisu, Override PA system and play track 63." Izuku said as he couldn't help but smile. Ever since he had been accepted into the support department he had been waiting, planning, dreaming of making his moment. Showing the world who he was, what kind of hero he was and for that he was going to make an introduction Japan, no the world won't soon forget.
"Working on it sir." Jabisu said. Izuku waited until he heard the opening guitar solo. Izuku quickly ran forwards and jumped off. He then ignited all repulsor to 7%. The blast got everyone's attention and they all looked up.
Once Izuku passed Hawks, he killed all powers to the repulsors. He began to free fall and did so until he was right above the stadium. At the last possible second, Izuku stuck his hands out, to slow himself down and to right himself. He hit the ground, taking a knee, small cracking forming in the cement around his knee and feet
Izuku couldn't help but smile as he slowly raised his head to look up at Momo. The glow eye slits of his helmet gave off a menacing vibe, as Momo stared back at him. She even took a small step backwards, as if she was struggling to catch her breath.
The music cut out and Izuku said, "UA! Did you miss me?" And with that the audience went wild, screaming at the top of their lungs. And business students that had called Izuku plain and boring easier, they admitted defeat. It seemed Izuku had a sense of showmanship that they had missed.
As for Momo, she had no words. Her father was a businessman and his company mainly dealt with creating technology systems for the Japan's Air Force, so though Momo wasn't an engineer, she could still admire how well designed and built the suit was. The suit Izuku was wearing was more advanced than Momo had ever seen, or thought was possible.
Sensing that no further introduction need to be made, Midnight raised her whip and then cracked it to signal the start of the fight, "Begin."
That got Momo back on track. She quickly created a riot shield and a couple of smoke grenades. She threw the grenades right in front of Izuku. Izuku looked down. His scanner quickly changed to see through the smoke, however a large flash bang went off. Causing Izuku's ears to ring and his scanners to go on the firtz.
"Jabisu, kill and recalibrate scanners." Izuku said as sight would be important to keep track of an opponent who could attack from anywhere and in any way.
"But sir how will you see?" Jabisu siad.
"I'll work with what I got." Izuku said as the HUD disappeared and Izuku could only see through the small slits that were level with his eyes. Izuku powered up his repulsors and shot above the smoke. He saw Momo stopping right before going in. Izuku quickly raised his right hand and fired off two shots.
Momo noticed and quickly lifted the riot shield to defend herself with. Her riot shield must have been made out of something dense, as the shot hit and only left burn marks. "Normally I would wait until the start of the match to begin creating, but if I want to win. I'm going to have to cheat a bit." Momo yelled as she created a shotgun and fired out a beanbag.
Izuku quickly brought his hand forwards and caught the bean bag out of the air. He looked at it and when he realized what Momo had fired at him, he could almost laugh. A beanbag would have to go near the speed of sound to break through his armor. Yet they were still at school so Momo couldn't make anything lethal. Izuku smirked as there was no way that he could lose.
Izuku watched as Momo backed up, keeping her distance. Plan A of her wasn't working, so time to go to Plan B
"A beanbag. Sorry, but you're gonna have to do better than that to win." Izuku quickly drew his hand back and threw the beanbag back at Momo. She blocked the beanbag with her shield, but Izuku had followed suit. He dove down and punished Momo's riot shield; she was only able to keep a hold of it, thanks to the several straps she had created. Though that did not save the shield from starting to crack under Izuku's punch. Izuku noticed and followed up with a second punch, but then another flashbang went off in front of him.
Izuku barely had time to completely close the mask before the flashbang went off. As the flashband went off Izuku's vision was saved, yet the sound still reached his ears. As a ringing sound started in his eyes, a blue flash appeared.
"Sir, scanners are back online." Jabisu said, as the HUD came back up.
"Let's show them what I can do." Izuku said, as he forced the ringing to the back of his head. He opened his eyes and went to stare Momo down, but found smoke in her place.
"Midnight permission to use lethal force?" Momo asked. Izuku catching the beanbag and his comment told Momo that no nonlethal option was going to get through the armor.
"Midoriya?" Midnight asked, almost hearing the smirk from Principal Nezu as the number of views of the Sports Festival were sure to rise after word got around about Momo using lethal force. Japan's strict gun laws would have something to say about a 15 year old creating guns.
"Granted." Izuku said as his scanner switched to see through the smoke. He couldn't find Momo. He could have easily said no, but that would be too unfair. The Sports Festival was meant for the students to show off their quirks and their skills, why not give Momo a better chance to do so.
"Nothing above 9mm." Midnight said, as Snipe had passed along the videos of his tests with Izuku so Midnight knew Izukus's armor would be able to withstand. And it was a standard ammo size around the world, so Izuku thought it was fair. His armor could withstand 9mm but Momo could create nigh unlimited ammo. Eventually his armor was going to fail.
"Understood." Izuku heard Momo behind him. He turned around just in time to get shot in the head. The force of the bullet knocked Izuku's head back as sparks fell through the air and for a moment Momo thought she had actually killed him. Izuku had agreed to let her use lethal force, but she could easily still get charged with murder for this. Momo did not want to go to prison.
However, a laugh began to resonate from Izuku's mask, it sounded like he was having the most fun in the world. Because, damn he had not expected someone as proper as Momo to go straight for the head. He continued to laugh as he slowly brought his head down, revealing that the bullet had barely left a dent in the face mask as the flattened bullet fell to the ground, "You're going to need something stronger than that."
Momo looked at the 9mm pistol in her hand, then back at Izuku. She couldn't make anything to get through his armor. Momo quickly raised her shield as Izuku raised both hands. Then something happened, almost unnoticeable from a distance, even with how close Momo was she almost missed it. The device on Izuku's chest glowed a bit, then Momo saw the energy disappear beneath the armor.
Momo had been right, the chest device was the source of Izuku's equipment. If she managed to knock it off line, then Izuku would be stuck. He would be forced to carry the weight of the suit by himself, and something told Momo, that would be quite impossible without a strength quirk. She would have to be quick with her plan, so Izuku didn't have a chance to prepare anything. Momo appeared from behind her shield and quickly fired two shots. The first one was to the right, but the second shot hit the chest piece.
Izuku felt the force on his chest and a warning about the impact appeared in his HUD. The bullet had been stopped and was not close to actually hitting him, but Izuku felt some worry that he had been about to feel the impact of the bullet. He looked down and saw the protective glass of his arc reactor was cracking. It seemed Momo had figured out how his suit operated, but no indication that she understood his quirk. Yet it was still a good strategy, without the arc reactor, his quirk would no longer be about to power the suit and he would essentially be trapped within it, unable to move.
Though even if the arc reactor wasn't able to siphon off his quirk, it would still be able to power the suit for 5 minutes. So if that happened, Izuku would have to be quick about it. He fired off another shot, then took high into the sky. Well above the ground, making it harder for Momo to hit him and if she missed the bullet would go into the air and not hit the crowd behind him.
While Momo had never actually used an actual firearm before, only testing to see if she could. Practicing with beanbags had improved her accuracy. Once she got used to the recoil, she was hitting seven out of 10 shots, with the missed shot flying high into the air and disappearing over the roof the stadium. Once Momo was out of shots, she quickly covered herself with her riot shield and switched out magazines. Once she was reloaded she shot off her first shot, then saw sparks.
"Warning sir, Arc reactor comprised and output already down to 20%. One more hit and it will become offline." Jabisu warned and Izuku saw the warning on his HUD. With how finely tuned the arc reactor was of a device, it was no surprise how much a single bullet could mess it up.
"Crap." Izuku said, as he heard the sparks.
"Suit efficiency at 20 % Any output above and arc reactor will overload." Jabisu said. Meaning flying was dangerously close to that, so Izuku needed to get to the ground. Izuku quickly cut all repulsor and fell to the ground. Izuku was impressed that Momo's aim was good enough to hit a moving target that size. He made sure to let her know.
"I train with nonlethal firearms since I was 8. The difference with actual firearms is the recoil and that was easy to overcome." Momo said and fired off a bullet. Izuku quickly sidestepped it and fired off a shot towards Momo. Momo blocked with her riot shield, but her arm yelled from the impact.
Izuku noticed the cracks from earlier were much bigger. It looks like one solid punch would do the trick. Izuku powered up his boots to 10% and took off towards Momo. Momo saw was coming and raised her shield to protect herself the best she could.
"Propelled punch." Izuku yelled, and hit the shield and Momo was pushed back. As Momo slid to a stop and stood tall, lowering the shield to look at Izuku, it began to break apart. A majority fell to the ground, rendering it unusable. But that didn't stop Izuku from getting in close again and drawing back his fist.
"Sorry." Izuku said, then suddenly shot his hand followed, but stopped short only to open his hand. Momo looked the repulsor dead in the eyes, then a bright flash went off. Momo's vision went white, as she was temporarily blinded. She couldn't believe it, Izuku had pulled out another light screen, just as he had done the same to win the second event.
In a panic, Momo created a metal bo staff and swung. She heard it hit something, then felt it bend. She then felt a metal hand grab the back of her shirt and began to drag her. Momo knew where she was being dragged, and she didn't fight it. She was starting to run out of lipids and even if she got free, she wouldn't know where to attack.
"Momo Yaoyorozu has been forced out of bounds. Izuku Midoriya is the winner. The finals will be between Hisahito and Midoriya. It will begin in 30 minutes." Midnight announced.
"There you have it folks, Midoriya from the support department has proven once again to be victorious. We'll have to wait and see what other tricks he has in his suit." Present Mic said.
"How are you doing?" Izuku asked in a very caring tone, as the face plate of his helmet popped open. He might have been rough with Sero and Shoto, but he was still a kind gentleman and didn't like hurting girls. That's why he mainly went after Momo's riot shield and not her specifically.
"You mean besides being blind. I'm fine. My arms are sore but that's expected. My shield took most of the impact but it shook my arms." Momo said. Her arms were sore and it hurt to move them, though nothing a ice pack and a good night's rest couldn't fix. Her eyes were a different story, it could take months for them to heal properly.
"Sorry. I normally try not to hurt girls. Sorry about the flashbang. I forgot to decrease my power from 10 percent. The light screen was brighter than I wanted" Izuku said, as he helped Momo to her feet, "I'm going to have to guide you to Recovery Girl's office."
Izuku helped Momo turn around, then put his hands on her shoulder. "Your quirk is impressive. I'm surprised that you're in the support department." Momo said as she thought that Izuku's quirk allow to control his suit and the equipment. Techipath, if he was facing robots in the entrance exam, he should have been able to easily destroy them.
"Well my quirk isn't that impressive. It's actually kind of useless." Izuku said.
"It allows you to control your suit." Momo said. If Izuku controlled the suit with his quirk then how could he have failed the hero entrance exam.
"Well my quirk doesn't control the suit. That's my AI assistant Jabisu. I give him commands and he handles the terabytes of information within the suit. My quirk is the power source for the suit." Izuku said, as he directed Momo around the corner.
"I thought the chestpiece was the source of power." Momo said. She was now confused, that's where the energy was before it went to the rest of the suit. Had she been wrong, had she targeted the wrong thing. Yet Izuku seemed worried when Momo began to target it, or was that just a deploy to make Momo focus on something unimportant.
"While that's part of it. My quirk is called Static Cell. My body is able to produce a high amount of electricity. However, unlike your classmate Kaminari, I am not able to discharge it from my body. I'm basically a giant battery, I use my arc reactor to siphon my electricity out and direct it to my equipment. So if you had managed to hit again, my suit would have begun to lose power." Izuku said, sounding a bit monotone.
"That is still quite impressive. Why did you fail the entrance exam?" Momo had gone through recommendations, but heard stories from her classmates. Izuku equipment could easily handle Shoto's ice then it would easily destroy the robots.
"At the time, I didn't have my full suit. I only had my gauntlets and without the armor a 3-point robot destroyed them early on. Since I can't use my quirk by myself, I really couldn't do anything. Afterwards I went to the support department to fix them and before I left gave a demonstration to Powerloader. I came to this school to the support department with the dream to be transferred to the hero course." Izuku said.
"You're a finalist for the UA Sports Festival. You beat Todoroki, son of the #2 hero and me, the class vice-president. I would say your odds of getting transferred are high." Momo said, even upon Izuku placement in the Sports Festival he was proving hi strength over and over and the media attention on him. UA would be hard pressed if they didn't allow Izuku to transfer into the hero course.
"And what about Sero?" Izuku noticed Momo hadn't brought him up.
"He is a part of Class 1-A, yes but he does better in an urban environment. A flat arena he doesn't have much to use his quirk on." Momo didn't like talking bad about her fellow classmates, but she really couldn't think about anything else notable to describe Sero.
"Well Todoroki said I had his vote. Sounds like I have yours too." Izuku said.
"You have all of the Class 1-A votes. I'm sure my classmates are already making plans to talk to Mr. Aizawa to get you transferred." Momo said. Izuku smiled, but knew he wouldn't have Bakugo's vote. Bakugo would be more than happy to let Izuku stay in the support department, claiming that's where he belonged.
When they arrived at Recovery Girl's temporary office, Izuku knocked on the door. Then without waiting for an answer, Izuku opened the door and led Momo inside. Inside and waiting was Ochaco sitting on her bed, while Gizon was laying down and looking at if he was napping.
"Yaomomo, what are you doing here?" Ochaco asked. She had bandages all over her body and iv drip in her arm. Gizon barely looked any better as any part that wasn't covered in bandages was covered in bruises. Izuku looked around but they were the only two in the room.
"I lost." Momo said, looking in Ochaco general direction. Ochaco and Gizon noticed the odd stare, then noticed how white Momo's eyes were.
"Are you okay? You look blind." Gizon asked, shifting to sit up.
"I got her with a lightscreen, but I forgot to lower my power." Izuku said, as he directed Momo over to a bed and helped her sit out. She stumbled a bit, but managed to catch herself on the bed. She sat down on it, then turned and lifted her legs onto it.
"Wait, that's Midoriya in there." Gizon said fully sitting up. He looked Izuku over, who he honestly thought was a new medical droid," You look Bad-A."
"Thank you. Yaoyorozu was a big enough threat that I decided to dawn the whole suit." Izuku said, admitting that might help his relationship with Momo.
"Thanks." Momo said, as she laid down on the bed. It was a compliment, Izuku had gone against Todoroki, but saw her as the bigger threat. She might have lost the fight, but she still felt proud.
"So it was you that overridden the PA system and played Shoot to Thrill." Ocacho said. She recognized it because one of her father's co-workers loves to listen to AC\DC during work.
"Yeah." Izuku said. The group looked at Ochaco surprised she recognized the song, she seemingly shrugged at their look.
Chapter 43: Healer, Leader, Announcer
"So that would mean the final fight is between me and you, Midoriya." Gizon said with a bit of a smirk but then he looked down at the bandages that were covering 80 % of his body, "That is if I heal in enough time."
Recovery Girl had informed him and Ochaco that she had only healed them enough so they wouldn't die. As if she used too much of her quirk, they could slip into a coma and that could complicate the situation even further. Yet he was looking forward to fighting Izuku. Seeing all his inventions, Gizon was becoming impressed.
Along with the fact that Gizon was still suspicious of Izuku's ties to the giant metal villain from the USJ. If Gizon had thought the gauntlets and boots looked similar, then their suits were a dead ringer for each other, though Izuku's was a bit more form-fitting. And the way Izuku had fought, it looked like a more trained and better-executed style of the giant metal villain. If Gizon faced Izuku in his suit, then Gizon would have a better idea of how close Izuku was to that villain.
"You still want to fight after healing from your injuries. Recovery Girl's quirk is going to make you exhausted." Izuku said as he took off her helmet. He ruffed up his fluffy hair, then set his helmet down at the bottom edge of Momo's bed.
Ochaco let out a fake laugh and said, "Finally, another sane person." Izuku took great offence to that, "I've been trying to explain that to him since he woke up. Recovery Girl has had even less success than me."
Gizon could only chuckle as Ochaco was in the same spot as he was. They had both gone a little overboard in their fights. So she wasn't as sane as she thought she was.
"Yeah, well I'm willing to wait as long as I need to. I've come this far, I'm not backing down, nor am I accepting first place without a proper fight." Izuku said as he smirked over at Gizon, who smirked right back at him. As they stared at each other, a mutual understanding formed. An understanding to go plus ultra in their upcoming fight, whenever it occurred.
Suddenly a side door creaked open and a tired-looking Recovery Girl walked into the room. She looked over the group and they could see the bag starting to form under her eyes. "Well, I'm sure the people in the stadium would love to wait another 3 hours to see you two fight. Because that's how long until I'm going to use my quirk again. The only reason you're awake is out of sheer stubbornness and not in pain, is the painkiller in your IVs."
Recovery Girl then began to walk over to Momo, "If my inner medical profession wasn't yelling at me, I might actually be impressed. But instead I'm horrified."
As Recovery Girl began to look over Momo, a knock came on the door and Mei walked in, "Hey Izu…" Mei paused as she noticed the Class 1-A students and what room she had just walked into, "Um…. Jabisu told me, you needed this." Mei reached into her overall's pocket and pulled a replacement arc reactor out. One of the ones that Hatsume Industries mass-produced, with a bit of modification to better handle Izuku's quirk.
So while not being able to power the whole suit, it would allow Izuku to continue to wear the suit with minimum mobility. Mei and Izuku had only modified it as a need precaution after Mr Hatsume brought up how many pro heroes had emergency support equipment. Equipment that wasn't as good in quality as their main set, and only used it nothing else was available.
Izuku gave sheepish smiles as he looked down and saw the arc reactor within his armor flickering on and off. While there were no alarms, the warning from his HUD never disappeared, so Izuku walked over and accepted the arc reactor from Mei. He then held up his other hand to his chest and with a skilled hand easily detached the arc reactor. When Izuku felt the suction disappear from his chest, he pulled the broken arc reactor out. A beep came from the helmet, but Izuku ignored it as he slipped into the new arc reactor and then twisted it into place.
At this point, the lights of the armor were starting to go dim, but as Izuku pressed down on the arc reactor again, he felt the device begin to siphon off his quirk. The lights flicker back on but didn't stop flickering. This caused Izuku to frown and he tapped his finger the arc reactor and a few seconds later the lights stopped flickering, causing Izuku to smile.
"You're Mei Hatsume right?" Momo said as turned her head in the general direction of Mei, but then Recovery Girl pulled her back in to look at her eyes. She recognized the voice, though wasn't familiar with the owner. Meaning it could only be someone she met recently.
"Yeah," Mei said. She didn't think anyone besides the support companies would care to remember her name. However, if she got closer to the hero course student, she could have connections for future inventing and a group of pro heroes that worked with her exlcusively.
"Impressive fight against Bakugou. You stuck with your strengths and made sure your name got out." Momo said. It might not have been clear to others, but to Momo it had been clear from the beginning of the fight Mei wasn't planning on winning, just doing some little marketing. And she seemed to have a knack for grabbing people's attention and keeping it.
"Yeah, but fair warning, Bakugo is a little more than just annoyed with you. Something about not getting a proper fight and being used as advertising." Ocahco said, looking over at Mei and smiling. She remembered how Bakugo had yelled about not getting a proper fight from either Mei or herself. Which was something Ochaco was more than happy to give him.
Mei gave an audible gulp to show how nervous she became. After hearing all she had from Izuku, she was not ready to face Bakugo again any time soon, yet the blonde bomber didn't seem like someone who forgot a grudge anytime soon. Even though Bakugo and Izuku hadn't crossed paths in a while, Bakugo was still ready to start a fight on sight.
Yet before the conversation could go any further, or a new topic be brought up, the PA system cracked to life and a second later Present Mic began to speak.
"Ladies and gentlemen within the First year stadium for UA's sports Festival, we have an announcement. We, as UA's staff first ask that you please do not blame us. Due to the injuries sustained during his fight against Ochaco Uraraka, Gizon Hisahito is unable to fight in the finals." People immediately began to chant Izuku's name, as if seemed history would be made once again. For the first time in UA history, a support student has won the Sports Festival. It got so loud it felt as if the entire stadium was shaking.
"However." Present Mic continued and that immediately made the stadium go quiet, "Due to his sportsmanship attitude, Izuku Midoriya has refused to accept his first place without a proper fight."
"Wait, What? How" Gizon and Izuku both asked, then looked at Recovery Girl who was still checking over Momo. She paused to pull out her phone and lay it on the foot of the bed. Izuku and Gizon looked at the screen to see that the phone was currently on a call with Present Mic. From the the timer on the screen, the phone call had been going on for the past few minutes.
"Again please don't blame the staff of UA. But the final round of the first years will no longer be held today. Meaning the Festival is over and we ask you to leave calmly. Uraraka and Yaoyorozu have been placed in third and will receive their metals."
The stadium was silent for a silent second as the news settled in, and then as if a dam broke, noise began to echo through the whole UA campus. The noise got so large it felt like an earthquake happening, and among the chaos of shouts and yells, there were some choice fightin' words that could be heard. This got Giozon to laugh a little but he had to stop as it began to hurt.
"The final rounds will be held this Saturday. The event will be broadcasted over the Department of Education broadcasting system. The round will be held at noon on Saturday. Thank you for coming and have a good rest of your day." The microphone was then abruptly cut out.
No less than 5 seconds later, the door to Recovery Girl's temporary office opened. Present Mic quickly slipped inside, closed the door then locked the handle and slipped the dead-bolt to lock. He then leaned against the door and let out a breath of relief. He then opened his eyes and looked at Gizon and Izuku, "You two have caused this school a lot of trouble. I hope you make it a good show."
"Um, hello Present Mic, what are you doing here?' Gizon asked the question on everyone's mind in a blunt manner.
"Hiding from the coming riot. The finals are the biggest part of the UA Sports Festival. It's what people pay for and we just canceled it. And with the hype and media attention around you first years, people are going to go crazy and most of those people are Pro Heroes." Present Mic said, as he made sure that the locks he had just locked were locked, Worry and fear were evident in his voice and actions.
"I'm glad you made the right choice because if you hadn't you would be joining the student in recovery." Recovery Girl said, as she grabbed her phone and slipped it back into her pocket. Then grabbed her cane and twirled it around. She might be old and be a medical hero, but she could still put someone in the hospital, only to be the one who has to heal them.
"I know." Present Mic sounded genuinely scared. He had made the mistake of ticking off Recovery Girl in the first year of being a teacher. The students never let him hear the end of it, even when he came across them on the street during patrol.
"So why don't you make the broadcast free. People have already paid to see it, and just because it had to be delayed, doesn't meant they should have to pay extra. It's not their fault." Izuku said.
"You think the DOE isn't going to use this as a chance to make a little money." Present Mic said. The DOE was one of the greediest government branches and would milk this opportunity dry. Worse they would never let UA hear the end of it. Principal Nezu already had a plan for how to dismantle the HPSC. Yet he hadn't because dismantling that particular section of the government would cause a bigger issue than it would solve. The Department of Education would be a much easier target and Principal Nezu might actually go through with that one.
"They shouldn't." All of the students said. Present Mic looked at the students, they had much to learn about the real world.
"Well don't disturb my work." Recovery Girl said as she finished checking over Mono's different injuries. Her arms had hairline fractures and her eyes, well "Your retinas were nearly fried, your rods are completely bleach and your cones heavily damaged. If the light was any more bright, you could ever well be permanently blind."
"Sorry." Izuku said again.
Recovery Girl just smiled at him, "It's okay dearie. I've dealt with all kinds of injuries throughout my career. Burnt Retinas is low on the list of severity." She turned back to Momo, "With my quirk, you lucky won't require surgery, but this isn't going to be a quick fix. 6 kisses at the minimum and you'll be joining your classmates on staying overnight. And you'll be wearing sunglasses for a while, don't want to be straining you eye too much." Recovery Girl kissed Momo on the cheek, who became covered in a soft mind glow.
Momo felt the dull pain in her arms disappear and some of her vision returned, so now she could see the difference between light and shadows. After that it stopped, Momo waved her hand in front of her face and could see the shadows it created as it moved. So her eyes weren't completely gone, but they were far from being healed.
Some conversations were held until after an hour when Present Mic found it safe to leave the room. Mei went with him, though Izuku stayed stating he wanted to stay until the end of the day. So he could more freely move around without being bombarded by fans while he got the pod and returned it to the support department.
With nothing else to do, using his suit's strength, Izuku pushed Gizon and Ochaco's beds together, then grabbed a table and set it between the beds. Recovery Girl gave them a deck of cards to play which they used the most out of them. Switching between Go Fish, Old Maid and other card games, though Gizon said he wished he could get to his locker and get extra decks to play poker. Ochaco and Izuku tried not to question Gizon about why he had decks of cards randomly in his locker. While they played, Momo sat on her bed, listening. She had a blanket over her and in her lap sat Izuku's helmet.
Momo was moving her hands over it, feeling the cold metal. Her hand found the dent she had caused, it was small and Momo felt that it was no way near to breaking through. She thought about the fight and how she could have acted differently. She could have gone with a more lethal option, but she wasn't permitted to go above. Nor she didn't want to be viewed as that kind of person. Yet it had been a real battle, against a villain and a lethal option was the only option, and was Momo willing to bring herself to that point? Logic said yes and Momo would like to think she was a logical person, but in that situation, it didn't feel like logic was the best option.
As Izuku threw his card down into the pile, which Gizon immediately slapped down on because it was a Jack, he looked over and saw Momo holding his helmet in her lap. She was feeling it with her hands. And despite them being mostly white and blank, Izuku could see the curiosity in her blind eyes. She wanted to know the secrets the helmet held.
Izuku sighed, put his cards down and grabbed the damaged arc reactor that Mei had left behind as Izuku said he would worry about it. It had to be low on power, but maybe had enough to power the helmet for a bit. Izuku took the helmet from Momo's hand, she looked a little disappointed. But then Izuku pulled out some wires from the broken arc reactor and connected the wires to the helmet then looked at Momo.
"Sorry for what I did, I hope this makes up for it." Izuku brushed Momo's hair back so it didn't get in the way or get caught. Izuku then slid the helmet over Momo's head.
"Midoriya what are you doing?" Momo asked as she didn't know what was going on but her vision suddenly went black. However, before she could try to free herself she felt the helmet slip over her hair and rest gently on her head. She felt the grip within the helmet form comfortably around her head.
"Jabisu, create a new user. Name: Momo Yaoyorozu. Access level, advanced school files. Cut off external speakers." Izuku said, then headed down to continue playing cards with Gizon and Ochaco.
"Wait Midoriya." Momo said, her voice echoing in the helmet.
"Hello Momo Yaoyorozu." Momo squealed a bit at the sudden new voice, "Unfortunately Master Izuku has turned off external speakers, no one will hear our conversation." Jabisu spoke with some hidden excitement as this would be the first chance he had to speak to someone new without Izuku listening in.
"Um What?" Momo asked, and she was still very confused about what Izuku was doing.
"Master Izuku noticed your curiosity and believed I could explain things the best." Jabisu's voice was smooth and comforting. He sounded like he was handling a young child who had scraped their knee.
"You can read Midoriya's thoughts?" Momo asked if that would be highly advanced AI.
"Master Izuku uses a brain-computer interface that translates brain EEG signals into commands for me to read. It is located at the base of your skull, which provides the best signal" Momo was impressed at how advanced Jabisu's AI appeared to be. Computers being able to read brain waves wasn't new, but the technology was very limited to basic commands. Such as turning on and off different electrical appliances, but being able to read Izuku's brain wave and turn it into a command while handling a suit with terabytes worth of codes.
"So Midoriya created you?" Momo asked. He had created the suit so why not the AI to control it?
"No, his father Hisashi Sutāku created me. My original design was to help Master Sutāku to manage his work, but soon I was upgraded to handle more complex and difficult systems. Right now my primary function is to assist Master Izuku to operate the suit he is currently wearing." Jabisu said.
Momo recognized the name of Hisashi Sutāku. He was an underground inventor who had built extremely advanced hardware and software. A name that often came across Her father desk, enough that he had began to looked for Hisashi to strike up a deal to hire him. Though no doubt what Private investigator Momo's father hired, no trace of Hisashi appeared, only his name and word about his inventions. "Can you pull up the files on Hisashi Sutāku?"
"Error, Access denied. User level is not high enough."
Momo cursed in her head, "What files do I have access to?" Izuku had given her access, so that meant there was something she could access. She wondered if there was anything particularly Izuku wanted her to see, as Jabisu accessed different files
"You have access to Hero analysis for the future, Vol 1-15."
"Okay what?"
"Project Hero suit, School Grades, School Projects, Hero names, and Video Documentaries."
"Open 'Hero names," Momo said. The file name made her curious, as it was Izuku had stated he wanted to get into the hero course. So what kind of hero name had he already come up with? "Please list off names."
"Iron Monger, War Machine, Iron Patriot, Iron Man, Titanium Man," Jabisu said.
"Can you make a note for Iron Monger? 'Class 1-A's nickname for the metal suit from the USJ. Not the best option.' Mark Iron Man as a favorite." Momo said and two symbols appeared next to the names. Momo thought over the other files and then said, "Open Hero analysis for the future. Locate files for members Class 1-A."
"There are 21 Files," Jabisu said. So that was the entire class and Mr Aizawa. Mr Aizawa stated that Izuku had watched Class 1-A train. But he couldn't have much information and Eraserhead was an underground hero, so how could Izuku possibly have files… Momo shook her head Izuku was brilliant and had 15 volumes for hero notes, of course, he had stuff on Mr Aizawa
"Open files for Momo Yaoyorozu." Momo said. Her curiosity made her want to see what the support student had figured out by just watching them train, he had found a way to counter Sero's quirk and was well-trained to fight against Shoto and herself. Jabisu began to read off the different notes in the files. It is a very detailed description of her quirks, along with her primary uses as Izuku had noted her preferred weapon to be a bo-staff, while her long ranged option was firing beanbags. The amount of information Izuku had was astounding and this was from just watching them train. Suddenly Jabisu began to list off personal details such as her height, skin and hair color, then her weight and chest size.
Momo was glad Izuku had turned off the external speakers, she squealed very loudly and at an extremely high pitch. Her entire face went red at the last two notes, "Ms Yaoyorozu is something wrong?"
A knock came from outside the helmet, then Izuku's voice came through muffled, "Everything good in there. You jumped?"
Momo took a deep breath to get herself under control. Her heart rate was fast and it was making it hard to think. She knew Izuku was a nice person, he couldn't possibly be a pervert like Mineta. He would only have that kind of information because he thought it to be useful for the future. But why and how could he be so accurate? Her chest size was right while her weight was a little lower in real life.
Momo gave a thumbs up. That seemed to satisfy Izuku because he didn't ask any more questions. He went back to playing cards with Ochaco and Gizon, the group switched back to Go-fish, since Gizon was winning the reflex based games as he had proved even with all his injuries his reflexes were still faster than Ochaco or Izuku.
"Am I able to make any kind of edits to these notes?" Momo asked. She had to, she just had to delete that information. It was too personal for someone else to have.
"No, you must have a primary user level to make changes to these files." Jabisu said.
Momo took a few more deep breaths, "Am I able to turn on external speakers?" She wanted an answer about how Izuku's files could be so accurate and wanted them from Izuku himself.
"You must have a primary user level to turn on external speakers. Ms Yaoyorozu has something within Master Midoriya's files offended you?" Jabisu asked.
That caused Momo's mind to skip a few beats, "Wait you can tell I'm offended."
"I am learning AI. I observe human behavior to learn how people interact with the world around them. You are the first I've had a true one on one conversation without Master Izuku. Your scream was loud and high pitched after I listed up the character's description and you seem adamant to change something. What would you like to change?"
"I thought I didn't have a high enough level to change the files." Jabisu had literally just explained that she didn't have the ability to do so.
"For this time I am willing to bend the rules." Jabisu said.
"Can I delete information?" Momo requested
"Unforutanely no." Jabisu explained.
"Okay, then please decrease weight by 3 pounds and make a note to remind Midoriya to speak to me later about specific details regarding his journals." Momo said.
"Changes are complete. Anything else, you would like to try out?" Jabisu asked.
"No." Momo said.
"You may reached up and removed the helmet." Jabisu said. Momo sighed as she reached up and gripped the helmet. She felt the grip loosen and the helmet smoothly gilded off her head, "Midoriya."
"Yeah. Go fish Uraraka." Izuku said. Ochaco lowered her shoulders and grabbed a card from the pile. Ace of Spades.
"It's amazing. Jabisu, his intel processor and his adaptive algorithms are amazing. It felt like I was talking to an actual person." Momo said as she lowered the helmet back to her lap.
"My father realized that for an AI program to withstand the information to run the suit it would have to adapt. Allowing it to become faster, stronger and better. Jabisu's behavior system was more bit of a happy accident. His adaptive algorithms also make it so I don't have to create brand new code when I change something with the suit." Izuku asked as though about the terabytes of codes he had seen for the base of Jabisu's operating systems. Even if Izuku simply copied everything, by hand it would take him three days, three days without rest or breaks.
"How so? Uraraka you got a 4." Gizon asked. He understood a bit of what Momo and Izuku were talking about. He was also curious about Izuku's suit, it was amazing technology that would get Izuku transferred to the hero course. Mainly because Gizon was still trying to figure out what ties Izuku had to Iron Monger.
Izuku lifted his left arm and siad, "Left Blade." -the armor over Izuku left forearm popped out and the blade slid out- "This wasn't part of my father's original design. I added them because I wanted a more melee based option and coding everything would have taken a few days. With Jabisu's help it was a few hours. Retract." -The blade retraced- "As I face more people, I'll have to make more additional suits."
"So instead of training your quirk like a muscle, you can simply add more stuff. Sounds like a cheat code." Ochaco said, as she handed her 4 diamonds over to Gizon, "And are you still up for designing something for me." She still had no idea how Gizon and Izuku were so good at guessing the cards she had. She had only two matches while they both had 5, and she tried and failed not to show frustration.
Izuku nodded, then said, "I can for my quirk. In that sense yes, however adding new things means I have to design it, build it then test it. Some additions may look easy, but in actuality extremely difficult to add. My swords are a good example. Getting them to extend at the right time so they didn't get stuck in the armor plates, took a bit of time to get down. Uraraka if you've got an Ace, then yes I'm still willing to design something?" Izuku said. Ochaco handed over her ace and Izuku got a sixth match. Ochaco decided that she would never play poker with these two.
"Well, I would like to meet your father one day," Momo said. To Momo meeting someone this brilliant would be like meeting a movie celebrity to anyone else. To be able to make something this amazing, by hand, amazed Momo.
Izuku froze. His father was a touch-and-go subject. He was a man that Izuku barely knew growing up, but now Izuku knew that everything his father had done was to help him get to where Izuku was currently, "Unfortunately my father is dead."
"I'm sorry," Momo said. The sad tone of Izuku's voice made her regret asking.
"No, it's okay. I didn't know him growing up, but I'm glad he left me his work, it showed me the kind of man he was. And it's helped me get to this point and I'm not stopping any time soon." Izuku said. The three Class 1-A students smiled. It was clear to them that Izuku had a rough fight to get where he was. They would be proud to have him in his class.
While Momo decided to go to sleep, Ochaco, Izuku and Gizon continued to play cards. Eventually, Gizon grabbed his phone and held it under the table. As he opened he tossed a glance down at his screen and saw the multiple cracks that jetted across the screen. Gizon sighed, he was going to have to replace the screen again for the ninth time since starting UA. Though lucky all of those times it was just the screen
Being mindful of the cracks, Gizon began texting out a message that he was going to send to each member of Class 1-A excluding Momo and Ochaco. The text was, "If you could expel one person from Class 1-A who would it be."
Jirou was the first one he sent the text to and she responded quickly, "That little pervert, Mina. I went to stick my earphone jack in his ear until he's dead. "
That came with no surprise to Gizon, as besides himself Jirou was the one who more openly showed her disdain for the grape the most.
Next was Kirishima, who with his bleeding heart answered, "I think everyone deserves to be in Class 1-A."
Gizon easily sent back, "Kirishima, I want your honest answer."
It was a minute but Kirishima sent, "Mineta.
Kaminari sent back a joke, "Well hello Mr Aizawa."
Gizon slightly shook his head and texted back, "Kaminari I want an answer. And now as a threat, I happen to be sitting next to somehow who I know is a more powerful electric quirk user than you."
After a few second Kaminari sent, "?"
"15 Million Gigajoules mean another thing to you," Gizon said, recalling how Izuku had completely neutralized Denki during the cavalry battle. Which led to Shoto's team being much easier to handle.
"You're with the support course student? Midoriya." Denki sent.
"Yes, now what is your answer?" Gizon had to wait a few seconds for Denki's response, "Mineta or Kouda. I struggle sometimes to see how their quirks would work for being heroes."
Shoto was up next and Gizon wasn't really expecting an answer and he really didn't get up but instead a question, "Why are you asking me this question?"
Gizon internally smirked as he typed, "Surprise anonymous survey ;)"
It was a few minutes before Shoto sent back "I would then choose Mineta or Bakugo, I don't like either of their personalities."
Next up was the dear Class president Tenya Ilda. After sending the question, the three "Typing" icons went for several minutes before a whole essay came through, "Why should I think so badly of my fellow classmates. We have all worked hard to earn our place in this class and everyday we strive to better ourselves. To prepare ourselves for the trails ahead. To serve and protect the Nation, a noble endeavor. I don't see why anyone of us deserves to be expelled. Each day we work hard to improve ourselves for the future. We are to all become heroes."
Gizon chuckled a bit at the small essay he had just received. Gizon looked through his phone until he found a photo of the hole Mineta found after their first hero class. He selected it, then typed, "Remember this incident."
"Yes." Ilda typed back almost instantly and through the phone Gizon could feel Ilda's blood pressure rise as a cold wrath overcame the Class 1-A's class president
"I'll take that as your answer."
Kouda's answer was different from everyone else's, as it only contained two emojis. An eggplant emoji and a purple circle. Luckily it wasn't hard to decipher as there was only one student in Class 1-A that was associated with the color purple.
Even though Gizon knew what the next answer was going to be he still sent the text to Bakugo. And surprise, surprise, Bakugo sent back, "None of you deserve to be in all 1-A. You're all useless extras."
Gizon noted something of interest and sent, "No foul language?"
"Old Hag put filters on my phone." Gizon quickly took a snapshot of that, but the command showed up in the text thread, "You show that to anyone, you're dead Glow Squid."
Gizon quickly moved on to the next person, who turned out to be Tsuyu, "I told you to call me Tsu. Also Mineta, that grape little pervert. I caught him trying to pick the lock to the girl's locker room a few days ago." Gizon nearly crushed his phone from Tsuyu's comment, causing a few more cracks to appear. Gizon constantly had to control himself whenever Mineta was in his presence. Sometimes it was hard, other times it was impossible.
Aoyama was next and his text came through as, "Wii-wii, I must say Mineta doesn't sparkle brightly as a hero."
Gizon had to guess autocorrect had taken the French accent out of Aoyama's voice. Next up was Ashido and her response made Gizon chuckle a bit, "If someone is to be expelled, we must decide everyone's with a battle as old and ancient as the world. A dance-off."
A sport that obviously favored a normal height person, "So Mintea."
Mina sent the eggplant emoji with a water pistol pointed at it. Gizon assumed she used a water pistol as there were no gun emojis. Along with that Gizon thought that had been the best answer so far.
Sato was up next and panic was evident in his text, "Did Mr Aizawa inform you that someone was going to get expelled. I hope it's not me."
"Sato, trust me Class 1-A would fall apart if you were no longer able to bring sweets in. You're not being expelled, it's just a question I'm asking. Mr. Aizawa does not know about this." Gizon sent as it was often that Sato would overbake and bring extra sweets into class for everyone to share.
"I abstain from this question." Sato sent back.
Wait.. he can't just.. What? Gizon sighed and decided to let Sato abstain from the question. The big guy was too sweet to think badly of anyone.
Ojirou was next and simply replied, "Who do you think?"
Coping Kouda, Gizon sent the eggplant emoji with which Ojirou sent a nodding emoji.
Before Gizon could text Shouji, a text from him came through. It was a series of emojis. A Man running, a kicking emoji, eggplant, then an arrow pointed towards the sun. Gizon sent the thumbs-up emoji, then asked, "How?'" as he hadn't sent the message to Shouji.
Gizon never got a response about how Shouji knew Gizon was asking everyone that question.
Sero was up next and his response was quite surprising. Not so much the overall answer but the way he phrased it, "Launch that little raisin straight into an oncoming bullet train."
While Tokoyami was the direct opposite, as he sounded like he was speaking from an old English book, "If we are to purge the rotten soil from our class, then we must find the true source of the corrupted dirt. We must pull out its roots and cast them into the fire. Toss their ashes to the wind, scattering them so they will never reform and cause corruption elsewhere."
"Thanks for the next entry into your gothic horror novel, now what is your answer?"
"Mineta."
"Thank you Dark Shadow." As there was no way Tokoyami would give such a straight answer.
Gizon pulled out the next name and saw that it was an outline emoji. He was confused for a bit, then he remembered that's what Hagakura had made her contact name after Gizon had left his phone alone on his desk for a few minutes. Though she didn't respond with the answer but a simple comment, "Let me guess all the other girls have said, Mineta."
How was that even a question, however, Gizon decided to have some fun and said, "Maybe."
"I wish Hell was real so I could kill Mineta and drag his soul down its deepest pits myself." Hagakura sent and the next second Gizon decided even if that was a joke it was best not to get on Hagakura's bad side.
"Understood Tokoyami."
Out of curiosity, Gizon asked Mineta the same question. His response didn't surprise Gizon one bit, "You or Bakugo. He's scary and you won't let a man live like he's supposed to. If you weren't in class, then no one would stop me from living life."
Gizon couldn't believe how sadly mistaken Mineta was. Even if Gizon was in 1-B, or one of the general classes, hell even if Gizon was killed, he would bring himself back for the sole purpose of keeping Mineta in line.
While seemed like all of Class 1- hated Mineta, unfortunately, Mineta behaved enough around Mr. Aizawa so as not to get expelled. But with the demonstration of Izuku, it was clear a spot would have to be made available. In the end, Gizon texted everyone not to talk about this with anyone else.
But then Gizon's curiosity got the better of him and he texted Mr. Aizawa, "Hey Mr. Aizawa, if you were to expel one person from class 1-A, who would it be?"
Unlike Bakugo, Mr Aizawa had no filters on his phone, "All you little shits. I would get a year free from you annoying little pricks and actually get a chance to get some decent sleep. Unfortunately after last year, all of my expulsion must be approved by the RatGod, Principal Nezu."
"Thank you for answering my question. Have a wonderful night, try not to drink too much coffee." No reason to get more on Mr. Aizawa's bad side than Gizon already was.
