The hostages screamed, and a few of the thugs fell amidst the gunfire. The soldiers jumped out from their hiding spots and immediately covered the hostages as they made a safe withdrawal.
"Don't be afraid, we're here to rescue you. Stay quiet, keep your heads down..."
There weren't many thugs on the first floor. The soldiers quickly gained control over the situation. One of them used a small explosive to blow open a glass window, allowing the restrained hostages to evacuate through it.
Outside, there was already someone ready to assist.
The newly freed hostages were promptly moved to the safety area, where doctors and emergency personnel treated and comforted them.
On the second floor, however, gunfire continued.
Most of the thugs had rushed to the second floor, and combined with the complex terrain, both sides were exchanging fire with neither gaining the upper hand.
"Bring the hostages over!"
