"It's alright," Kris Cooper chuckled, "Debbie is busy with her studies, and academics come first."
Debbie Chantro is pursuing both cardiothoracic and general surgery, so her studies are indeed demanding. It's not worth the hassle traveling back and forth just for an engagement party, so Kris Cooper had called her earlier to assure her to focus on her studies and not to worry about coming back.
After all, they had already met in Las Vegas before, and this time is just the engagement party, not an absolute necessity to return for.
"Speaking of which, where are those two guys?" Kris Cooper checked his watch, "Their names really shouldn't have 'on time' in them, are they going to be late again?"
He was obviously referring to the Gust brothers, Evan and Barry. All other guests had already arrived, but these two were nowhere to be seen.
