Chapter 4
When Ryan Gregory finished checking the data on the computer, he realized she was already asleep on the table, oblivious to the passage of time.
She was obviously very tired, yet she insisted on staying by his side.
Maybe she just wanted to spend more time with him...
Was her pretense of being full of energy merely to accompany him a little longer?
She wanted to be with him but didn't want to disturb his work, so she had to choose this way.
A faint smile appeared on Ryan Gregory's lips as he gazed at her deeply asleep face.
There was still some work left in his hands, but suddenly he didn't feel like continuing.
Sometimes, for the sake of work, you overlook the people around you, neglecting her need for your companionship, her need for you to spend a little more time with her.
Moreover, this is home, not the office.
He really didn't need to bring work home...
With that thought, Ryan put down the remaining work in his hands, stood up, and carried her in his arms.
