Chapter 7
She was like sand in his hands, the tighter he grasped, the more she slipped away, the less she belonged to him.
Aaron Brown watched her tears fall uncontrollably, crying out for help, and his heart twisted in anguish, yet sadly he felt somewhat comforted.
He thought that she would never pay attention to him again, that aside from hatred and alienation towards him, she would have no other emotions.
Yet she would still shed tears for him.
Aaron's heart was constricted, a sour feeling welled up, heating his eyes.
He curled his lips, weakly saying, "Sofia Hamilton, actually... I've always wanted to tell... you... I'm sorry."
"If, back then... I hadn't... hurt your sister... hadn't... deceived you, I... would... be qualified to pursue you again, but... I've done too many things that hurt you."
He spoke guiltily, a severe pain attacking him, causing him to knit his eyebrows tightly, clutching her hand.
