Chapter Three
Regina Brown rummaged through everything, turning her father's study into a chaotic mess.
Finally, in the bottom drawer, she found the contract.
This land—selling it would give her the money she desperately needed!
Seeing the contract was like seeing her own fate. A smile appeared on Regina's face as she quickly grabbed it and left.
Just as she walked away, Mrs. Brown returned to the Brown Family residence.
Passing by the study, she noticed the chaotic mess inside, and her heart sank heavily.
"What happened here?"
The servant lowered their head. "Miss… she just came back. It seems like she was looking for something in there."
Mrs. Brown hurried into the room, finding papers scattered all over the floor, rifled through and disorganized.
"Is this child insane? What on earth was she looking for?"
"I'm not sure. Miss seemed to be in a hurry, grabbed something, and left immediately."
"What did she take?"
"It looked like some kind of document."
"A document?"
