Chapter 3
Decisions To Be Made
Time stood still as Momo was looking into the bright emerald eyes of the mysterious man who had saved her earlier that day, so full of wonder and questions that seemed to be brimming at the surface and wanting to explode out. The heiress noticed there was almost an ethereal look that seemed to draw her in more, and she just got lost in them before quickly looking down. Her expression became even more flustered as she stared at the man's bare chest.
Sculpted like that of one of the marble statues of Greek gods and warriors she would often view at the museums in Greece, though, unlike those pristine works of art, the man's body showed off many scars; some looked old, nearly faded away while others looked to be more recent, and judging by the way they were spaced out, it was either some kind of large creature of either feline or ursine in nature. Momo kept staring at them, doing her best not just to reach out and run her fingers along them to try and figure out the story behind each one that littered the man's body.
Thankfully, or not, depending on who you asked, the clearing of the mysterious man's throat broke Momo out of her inner thoughts as she looked up to him with his hand rubbing the back of his head, inadvertently flexing his muscles while he did so, further showcasing just how built he was, "Um… I don't know if I can have any visitors right now, and I don't want to sound rude, but-"
"O-Oh! Goodness, my apologies." Momo suddenly bowed gently and quickly, interrupting the man before she looked back up at the man's face, her cheeks showing a light dusting of rose on them, "I had only wish to thank you for what you did earlier today and apologize for my use of my quirk to point that canon at you."
The man chuckled lightly, smiling gently at her as he straightened his stance, looking a little more tense as he was speaking to her, which threw Momo for a little bit of a loop, "No worries, my lady, while I did save your life, you took the appropriate action as I was still clearly an unknown on the battlefield."
Momo slowly began to frown a little, her onyx eyes flaring up at him as they locked onto his emeralds once again, which made the man look on in confusion, "Have I offended you? Why did you tense up all of a sudden?"
"...I did?"
"You did, and why did you suddenly call me, 'My lady'? I am just a normal person such as you, so you don't need to do so."
"A-ah…" The man scratched his cheek, chuckling nervously a little, "Sorry about that, force of habit since you have this air of nobility to you that I fell back to regarding you like I would the Jarls or their Thane's." Seeing the look of confusion on Momo's face, the man sighed softly, "Right, sorry, Jarl's would be like.. Kings or Queens of strongholds as in the major cities and towns of Skyrim, while their Thane's are members of their court. Basically, if you said the wrong thing or did something that offends them… Well, either it's spending a few days in the dungeons, or their guard's just straight-up kill you on the spot."
Momo's wide-eyed stare was the only reaction to the man's explanation for him tensing up before she quickly and softly cleared her throat to recompose herself, "Well, while I was born to a more well-off family than most, I'd only wish to be treated the same as the rest of my peers." The young heiress slowly began to smile, trying to help make the atmosphere less tense and offer the man her hand in greeting. "My name is Momo Yaoyorozu."
The heiress watched as the slightly taller and still bare-chested man looked at her hand, then slowly took it into his own and held it softly. Momo's cheeks began to brighten up as the burly man slowly descended to one knee, his head bowed slightly to the floor. Had anyone else in the hallway would have seen the scene, it would have looked like a 'savage' knight swearing allegiance to a queen or noblewoman.
At least, that is what was running through Momo's mind at that moment, harkening back to those romance novels she loved to read as a young teen… and often in her downtime at the university, and what wasn't helping was the fact that thanks to the angle they were both in, she could see more scars on his shoulders and beginning to trail down his backside, and they were far more noticeable than the ones on his chest. The blush on her cheeks only intensified as the man spoke, a little louder than Momo had expected since he was still looking down to the floor, "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady Yaoyorozu; my name is Izuku Midoriya."
"Truth be told, Mr. Aizawa mentioned your name, and I kind of figured it was yours…" Izuku said with a gentle chuckle and smile as he looked up, now taking in what he was doing and the rosy cheeks on the young woman's face; that smile soon faded into worry as he quickly rose to his full height once again, holding his hands up and looking quite flustered, "I-I am so sorry about that! I was just-"
"I-it's fine, Midoriya." Momo suddenly spoke up, taking a deep breath to calm her nerves before smiling again at the man before her, "I would assume that's a trained response? For all those Jarls and Thane's you mentioned?"
Izuku softly nodded, his cheeks a little rosy now, "Usually for the women who held those titles, for the men, it was just a simple kneel and bow."
As the heiress continued to smile, nodding her head in understanding, she slowly began to back up a little, "Well, again, I just wanted to thank you for saving my life earlier today since I couldn't really do that earlier."
"No thanks is needed, really; I just did what anyone would have done." Izuku smiled back at her, "After all, I'm sure if the roles were reversed, you would have done the same for me."
Momo stopped in her tracks, her face looking at him in shock while Izuku tilted his head in confusion from the way she was looking at him, "Y-you really think so?"
"I know so," Izuku softly smirked, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning against the doorframe, now being more at ease with the woman, "I saw a fire within your eyes as you pointed that cannon at me earlier today," The man chuckled as Momo puffed her cheeks out, having a feeling that Izuku wouldn't let that drop anytime soon, "The same fire I could see as were talking just now. You're going to be an amazing hero."
Momo's cheeks began to redden again while Izuku moved off of the frame, and his hand went to reach for his door, "I can't wait to see how much more amazing you're going to get while you work and improve here at UA, but I think I've taken up enough of your time."
"O-Oh... alright." Momo softly spoke, looking a little downcast at the rather sudden way Izuku was ending their conversation, "W-Will we see each other again? I mean-"
At that, Izuku shrugged softly, "I honestly don't know; I have a lot to catch up on since I've been gone, and I have some personal business to take care of once they find my mother. I could always stop by to visit from time to time since her apartment was close to UA." Izuku smiled at her then, as if to reassure her, before slowly looking a little more somber, "And thank you for visiting… I was worried I had frightened you."
"O-Oh…" Momo continued to blush before shooting back at him with a gentle smile of her own, "Truthfully, I was a little frightened of you after you dealt with that Nomu villain… but after speaking with you just now, I am happy that my first impression of you has since changed for the better." Seeing his smile return across his lips had made Momo's heart nearly soar for some reason.
"That's good to hear. Have a good night, Mo-Yaoyorozu!" Izuku quickly corrected himself, remembering that he wasn't in Skyrim anymore, so calling someone by their first name was a bit of a social faux pas in Japan, at least for strangers. The heiress had picked up at his correction, and a thought in the back of her mind came up, and Momo couldn't help herself from what she did next.
Given the way he was acting when they first introduced themselves, Momo figured a more 'noble' send-off was in order as she delicately grabbed the sides of her robe, curtsying before the man before her with her head bowed slightly and her eyes closed, Momo spoke with an airy, but elegant tone to her voice, "I pray you as good rest yourself, Sir Midoriya."
The sudden choking out and flummox-sounding 'good night' before the immediate shutting of his door made Momo look up, giggling gently and softly before standing up fully and beaming at the now closed door. Turning on her heel towards the elevator, Momo was glad that she had made the small journey to at least visit the young man before he departed from UA, as who knew when the two would meet up again.
In her thoughts, as she entered the elevator for the men's dorms, the heiress hoped that he would keep his promise of visiting her while she was studying to be a hero at UA. After all, Izuku seemed like a decent young man, and she was genuinely curious about him and his experiences. As she stepped off the men's side elevator and into the women's, for some strange reason, Momo had the urge to continue reading one of her novels.
Back in his room, Izuku was still holding his hands tightly against the door, trying to calm himself down from the rather audacious way that Yaoyorozu had wished him a good night. Admittedly, he had a feeling that his rather 'unorthodox' greeting from earlier would bite him in the ass, but he hadn't thought it would be this soon.
While the curtsy in itself was lovely, what the young woman hadn't realized was that the top of her robe had opened up slightly, revealing just how 'healthy' of a woman she was to Izuku's amazement.
Now Izuku had been raised not to ogle women while he was growing up on Nirn, given the fact that, for one, it was rude to do so, and two, that said women could easily take down a full-grown man if you pissed them off enough, which he had witnessed too many times when he was hanging out with Vilkas and Farkas and the other companions in Jorrvaskr.
One would think that the single men of Whiterun would learn not to flirt with Aela of all people…
Granted, when Izuku had first met Momo back at the USJ, she was wearing a rather revealing outfit, a simple red leotard that revealed much of her body and bare skin, which, at the time, the Dragonborn hadn't really noticed. But thinking about it now, and what he witnessed just a few moments ago, Izuku couldn't help but sigh heavily as he moved off of the door and went to the bathroom, turning the faucet on and splashing some cold water onto his face.
"Ugh, there must be a full moon soon…" Izuku grumbled to himself as he grabbed a towel that was hanging onto the wall to dry his face. Even if it has been a couple of years since Izuku had inherited the 'Gift of the Wolf' from the Companions, and then having ended the curse after he assisted in freeing Kodlak's soul from Hircine's realm of Oblivion, there were still times that the more 'primal' version of himself would act up around the coming and going of the moon. It was odd that it was affecting him even now, given how 'magical' Nirn's moon was…
Probably, his being a Dragonborn had caused him to have lingering side effects that persisted even in his homeland, which only made Izuku shake his head and sigh once more.
Tossing off his leather boots and then his pants, the now loinclothed young man slowly unfolded the large furred blanket he had obtained from his chest, unsure how hot he would be given its size as well as the mammoth fur it was made from.
But given his experience while adventuring out in the wilds of Skyrim, Izuku knew that it was better to be hotter than cold.
"I trust you rested well?" Nezu asked after pouring himself a cup of Earl gray tea while his beady eyes were trained upon the young human before him. He watched as the green-haired man slowly took a gentle sip of his drink before placing the teapot back onto its saucer and reaching for his cup.
"Yes, I haven't slept in a bed so comfy since I stayed at the Blue Palace." Izuku said after taking another sip of the delicious tea, "It is an enormous Keep where the High King of Skyrim is living and ruling over the land." The Dragonborn explained it as if answering the dean's unsaid question.
"It sounds like a fascinating land to learn about, though I'm sure it has its dangers."
"You don't know the half of it…" Izuku chuckled, which was followed up by a heavy sigh, "For every good thing or place of wonder one could discover, there were at least about ten or twenty things that could easily kill you." The emerald eyes of the man were staring down into the half-empty cup of tea, slowly tilting it back and forth as if reminiscing about something before looking back to Nezu, "While I am sad that I had to leave, honestly, I'm just glad to be back home."
"Even though you have been gone since you were a young child, it is hard to remove the feeling of 'home'." Nezu somberly nodded to himself, sipping his tea before placing the cup back onto the saucer, "Now, I can imagine you have plenty of questions of your own for being here this morning."
Izuku nodded his head, placing his cup down and staring at the small furred creature before him, "I had a thought it pertains to already locating my mom. But…" the eyes of the young man suddenly hardened, his facial features cold and stonelike, and if Nezu could see it again, the dean swore he saw the irises of the young man before him thin out to the similar shape of a lizard's, "I have a feeling that is not the case and I am going to be coerced into something."
"Now, how did you come to that conclusion?" Nezu asked with genuine intrigue, his tiny paws brought together and resting on his desk.
"You'd be surprised how often I had to deal with both regular and otherworldly beings that forced me to do certain things or risk losing my life and soul." The Dovahkiin said in a rough tone of voice, his gaze not leaving the small mammal's beady one, "It got to the point where I can tell where I have minimal options, and I have to follow what I was told to do, despite how I felt about it."
Nezu softly nodded, knowing full well that even heroes had to do and perform certain acts that went against their beliefs, and given the man's history, the dean knew that whatever Izuku had done in the past, he clearly didn't like to be put into that position. Regardless, Nezu leaned back into his chair, returning the smoldering gaze being shot his way as he spoke calmly, "Well, truthfully, it is not so much coercion, but more of an option being presented to you. You can easily decline my offer but may find the alternative not as pleasant."
The raised eyebrow he got from Izuku made Nezu perk up a little, "That being said, you were partially correct in that you being here is because I have some news about your mother." Nezu had begun to say as he rose his paw up to halt the boy from asking questions, though the pure shock that appeared on the young man's face instantly lit up the general mood of the room into something a little more pleasant, "While it's not concrete yet, we have found where she currently is, but I'd ask that you give me a week to get everything prepared for you properly… it has been fifteen years since you were taken."
"Fifteen?" Izuku asked with a confused look on his face, "But I'm twenty as of the last summer season… so it has to be sixteen years."
"Hmm, it's possible there may have been a slight difference of time between our world and the one you were spirited away to." Nezu said with a paw on his chin, thinking for a moment before looking back to Izuku, "Regardless, I'd rather make sure I give you all the information I can, so I only ask for an extra week to do so if that is alright with you?"
Izuku crossed his arms over his chest, relaxing in the chair he was sitting in as he softly nodded, "Yeah, I can't argue with that… rather not just show up at some stranger's house."
"That would be for the best, yes…" Nezu chuckled before reaching into his desk and pulling out a small folder, "Now, onto other business and what I mentioned prior, but first, I must ask you a couple of questions, Mr. Midoriya." The dean continued while placing the folder in front of him and opening it up, revealing various forms and other files Izuku couldn't quite make out, "Firstly, what are your plans going forward?"
"Pardon?"
"What do you plan to do now? Aside from locating your mother, what sort of prospects do you see yourself having in the outside world?" Nezu asked again, in a calm sort of tone as the Dragonborn solemnly looked down at his hands, thinking and contemplating the question before turning his gaze up back to Nezu.
"Truthfully, I just wanted to make up for all the time I missed with my mom… maybe travel across Japan and take in the sights, I guess, and see what I missed."
"And after that? While those plans are commendable, the fact of the matter is that technically, you are without a home or any real way to have employment given that your status in society right now is 'missing, but presumed dead'." The dean sighed softly, watching the reaction of the 'dead' person before him, slowly beginning to think about his words, "You can change your status, but that will take time and money, which would be very hard for you."
"Um… I think I got money covered, at least… I hope so." Izuku spoke and raised his head, "I took into account I would be coming back home without any money… so I brought all the septims I had on me."
"I assume this 'septim' was a form of currency back in that other world?"
"It was the only one from what I experienced… Would you like to see one?" Izuku asked as he looked ready to jump out of his chair, and pretty much did so when Nezu nodded his head. The dean couldn't help but be fascinated when the green-haired man moved towards the chest that was off to one side, and with a wave of a hand and the loud click of the wooden chest unlocking, it soon opened with Izuku reaching into the thing.
What caught Nezu's real attention was just how deep Izuku had to put his arm in to pull out a single golden coin. Once closing the lid and bringing the septim to Nezu, Izuku watched as the tiny paws of the dean were slowly looking over it, taking in the intricacies of the design of the coin and marveling at its luster. Nezu took his beady eyes off of it and tossed it back to Izuku, "I must say, is it made of pure gold?"
"As pure as it can be, and some of it is extremely old, given I found them buried in the barrows."
"And how much did you bring with you?" Nezu asked, the smile on his face slowly growing as Izuku looked in deep thought as if he was trying to remember how much.
"I think… it was about two and a half million septims?"
The sudden and loud outburst of cackling coming from Nezu nearly made Izuku jump up in worry before the dean calmed himself down, wiping away a tear from his scarred eye. Nezu continued to smile and keep his laughter in check, which further made the Dragonborn worried, "My apologies, but with that amount you mentioned and how much the gold market is… well, let's just say I would not recommend exchanging all of it for Yen, my boy."
"Now, with that said, tell me, Midoriya," Nezu leaned forward a little onto his desk, "before you were taken, did you have a dream of what you wanted to do when you grew up?"
Seeing the slight blush on the man's cheeks made Nezu cackle once again in glee, at least, within his mind, as Izuku scratched the side of his face a little, "Well… like all kids, I wanted to grow up to be a hero, just like All Might."
"I see, and quite an admirable goal for as young as you were then…" Nezu leaned back into his chair, his pure black eyes watching the young man from across the table, "For my final question, and like I said before, this is an option, and you are free to decline it."
"But how would you like to fulfill that childhood dream?"
Chapter 4
Dragon's Roar
Aizawa stood outside of the Heights Alliance Dorms, with one hand sucking on a jelly packet while his other hand held the clipboard with various papers attached to it. He exhaled a deep sigh after consuming the shockingly tasteless concoction, tossing its remains into the closest trash bin. It was shocking because it was supposed to be a new 'mochi' flavor from an up-and-coming jelly company…
Well, Aizawa knew which brand not to buy anymore.
The homeroom teacher went back to staring at the doors to the dorms once again from under the bandages he was wearing, already dreading what kind of state the students would all be in, considering not only having to survive a villain attack already in their early days at UA but also having to come to terms with death on the field already.
Not only that, but the fact that a replacement for the missing student had already been filled, and oh boy, was he not looking forward to all of the chaos that would cause.
But, that was the nature of the current hero system; when one hero falls, the next comes to take their place. A never-ending production line of disposable sacrifices for the 'greater good', and as much as Aizawa would wish it wasn't the way things were, he knew painfully well it wouldn't change any time soon.
It hadn't for Oboro, it wouldn't for Shoda.
It was one of the reasons why the erasure hero was so strict in his teachings, to prevent any of his students from either facing the cold hard truths of the hero profession or having to come to terms with death itself, be it a colleague or bystander. But here he was, about to reveal that truth to eighteen young adults still coming to terms with not only their mortality but also that of a dead classmate.
As he moved towards the entrance, he hoped that they weren't doing as wrong, considering the small amount of time they knew one another. But, knowing his luck, Aizawa had a feeling that wouldn't be the case.
God, he wished Nemuri could handle this. Especially considering how he was 'faking' the injuries to his head, as it turns out, Midoriya's advice about having a complete rest was correct, much to his and Recovery Girl's astonishment. However, the old crone had made a point that until they could somehow thoroughly test the man's healing capabilities and what the limitations were, it would be best if Aizawa kept the act of being injured at least for another day or two.
Well, Aizawa did like his 'ruses' after all.
Silently closing the doors behind him, Aizawa made little to no noise as he slowly moved towards the commons room, his eyes looking over the students who were either sitting around dejected or just idly talking with one another. A few of them had bandages on various parts of their bodies, mainly the ones that had been teleported around the USJ, and thankfully, there had been few injuries amongst the group. As he continued to scan the room, the movement of a chair caught everyone's attention, and one Tenya Iida rose, "Sensei!"
"Easy, Iida…" The underground hero said with a raised hand, his dull tone of voice that still commanded everyone's attention as the students all looked towards their homeroom teacher, "I'm not going to be here long, but I wanted to give you all a few announcements and some changes." Aizawa did a quick headcount in his head, looking about before frowning a little, "Where is Bakugou?"
"Baku-bro still hasn't come downstairs when I was seeing if he wanted to hang out earlier," Kirishima said from his seat at the dining table where he had Mina Ashido, Hanta Sero, and Denki Kaminari sitting with him, "He told me to buzz off, so I don't think he's going to come down at any time."
"Not unusual, but I'll have to speak with him after this then." Aizawa replied before looking over his class once again, "First off, starting today, the school is going to be holding off on any classes for the next two weeks. This is to allow the staff and administrators to upgrade the University's defense network to prevent any more 'incidents'."
At the mention of the incident, Aizawa noticed one of the more 'sensitive' students, Koji Koda, wince and shivered a bit, muttering something with the stoic Mezo Shoji, trying to comfort him. Aizawa looked down to his clipboard, knowing that this would probably be best read from the small script Nezu had given him, considering he wasn't of what the rat was doing, "That being said, tomorrow we are allowing any students from the 1-A to return home temporarily, to recoup and be with family during this difficult time. We request that you return by the end of the week, but if there should be any complications, please speak with the dean or Hound Dog."
"That being said," Aizawa looked away from the clipboard, "Next week, we will be holding a memorial for Nirengeki Shoda on Wednesday morning," Watching all the faces of his students become more downtrodden from mentioning their fallen classmate, "While I don't think I have to say it, but you are all expected to be there and be sure to look presentable."
"Now, what I am going to tell you next may upset some of you… or all of you, given the circumstances." Aizawa sighed gently as some of the students began to murmur amongst themselves, "But we may have a new student starting tomorrow-"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Mineta suddenly shouted while slamming his hands on the top of the couch, looking quite angered and terrified at what this would mean for the rest of them, "One of us gets killed, and already they are being re-MMMPH?!" Only to be quieted by the scarf of his teacher being tightly wrapped around him and Aizawa's eyes blazing red. Everyone stood there, shocked at the way their teacher was now acting. While Mineta's way of going about it may have been overboard, he wasn't in the wrong.
"Sir…" Sato spoke up, getting the focus of the red glare turned towards him, "While I'm not going to defend how Mineta reacted, he does have a point. It just seems pretty callous on UA's part."
With the movement of affirmative nods and a few, 'That's right' from some of the others, Aizawa released Mineta from his 'gag' with the short student coughing for air and having Koda rub his back to help his classmate breathe again. The teacher gently sighed as he rested one hand on his hip and leaned against it, "You are right, Sato, and I would like to remind you about what I said on the first day, how that the world isn't fair. But the truth of the matter is that there was always going to be someone coming in to replace Shoda or any empty chair at some point in the year."
"I am not going to lie when I say this, but death's in the field will and can occur," Aizawa was now standing a little more straight, the heavy tone in his voice making everyone in the commons room shudder slightly, "As pro heroes, you will need to push forward during those times and make those sacrifices matter. But that doesn't mean we are unfeeling, and there will be time to mourn your fallen comrades after… And for those that remain and are alive to do better, not only to prevent such occurrences in the future, but also make sure you aren't one as well."
Moving towards the stairs, Aizawa's gaze remained looking forward as he pushed the button to the men's side elevator, "This afternoon, the Dean is going to be testing this new applicant at one of the battle sites most of you had participated in during the entrance exam, and he has offered for anyone interested in watching to attend. You just need to wait outside of the dorms after lunch, and Midnight will come to escort you to the surveillance room." The elevator's doors soon opened, and the tired-looking teacher walked in and turned around to face his class, "Attending isn't mandatory, but I would strongly recommend it."
The doors soon shut, making any further discussion between the underground hero and the students mute. The class soon looked at each other, and the room was as deathly silent as it had been prior to their teacher's arrival.
"This is bullshit!" Kaminari spoke aloud, crossing his arms over his chest, "He is making it sound like we are all replaceable at the drop of a hat!"
"Kaminari! Language!" Tenya spoke up, chopping the air to reprimand his classmate before bringing his arm back down, "But, I agree with your sentiment; it just seems quite rude to replace a student who had just passed away instantly."
"Kero, perhaps we can ask the dean for his opinion?" Tsuyu spoke up from her spot near the kitchen, now cradling a small frog-shaped cup of coffee, "No offense to Mr. Aizawa, but he doesn't usually like to tell us the reason for anything."
"Or perhaps even he doesn't know…" Shouto Todoroki spoke up from the chair by the couch where Mineta and Koda had been sitting, with the diminutive student thanking the animal whisperer for his help, "From the rumors I have heard, even Dean Nezu tends to act without any approval from anyone, and keeps the information to himself until the last second."
"Weird way to run a university if you ask me." Toru said as the clothes she was wearing bounced while making her way to the kitchen, "Keeping even the staff in the dark?"
"It's odd, I'll give you that…" Momo replied while thinking to herself, "Perhaps something happened to push the date when there would be a new student to join our class."
"The USJ, more than likely," Kirishima sighed softly, where a few of the students shivered at the mere mention of the name. The red-headed student suddenly brought a fist down into his open palm and looked to Momo, who was across the room, "Maybe it's that green-haired guy!"
While everyone else looked confused at Kirishima, Momo looked on in shock, considering her previous conversation with the man; she then went on to think about it, mulling over the possibility, "It… could be, I suppose?"
"Woah woah, what green-haired guy?" Mina spoke up from her spot beside her 'horn buddy', who looked back at the pink-skinned woman with a big, shark-toothed grin.
"He was like, super manly! He healed Yaoyorozu and Mr. Aizawa after Baku-bro, and I showed up at the center area!"
"How come we are just learning about this now? And who is he?" Tenya spoke up with a frown, only to get a shrug from the hardening-quirk user.
"I dunno, Iida-bro, and I lost track of him when Yaoyorozu and I were escorted to the ambulance with Aizawa. The last person I saw him with was All Might and the police." Kirishima now crossed his arms over his chest, "But the new person joining could also be one of the students that didn't make it into the hero course originally and not the green-haired bro, with it being so close to the new year, best to get them in now than later?"
"Regardless, we shouldn't hold a negative view on this potential new classmate, even if the timing isn't…" Tenya just trailed off, considering it didn't need to be said that the timing for a new student just after losing another was horrid on their part, "I intend to watch the person's exam, mainly due to curiosity. Would anyone wish to join me?"
A bunch of hands went up, and only a few of the students did not do so, mainly Mineta, Koda, and Sato. As the other students began to make their plans for the afternoon, Aizawa stepped off of the elevator on the third floor, only not having to go far as waiting for him was Bakugou, with his hands in his pocket and not even looking at the teacher and spoke, "It's De-... Midoriya, isn't it?"
Aizawa raised an eyebrow at the question, curious about the name that the blonde was going to call their 'guest', but would drop it for now, "I take it you heard everything I said?"
"I had a feeling who it was when you mentioned we'd be getting a new person in the class this early." Bakugou huffed as he looked to his teacher, "How the hell does UA think this is ok? How can we be sure it's him in the first place?"
"What are you talking about?" Aizawa kept his raised eyebrow up as Bakugou growled low to himself, now crossing his arms.
"He may claim he says who he is, but… there's something off about him, something that doesn't feel right to me, considering who he was back then."
"People change as they grow older; from the reports we read, the last time, outside of yesterday, you two interacted was when you were both four…"Aizawa said with a frown before sighing, "I'd suggest watching him perform this afternoon, see if this 'gut' feeling of yours is correct or not."
"Also, the dean has asked that you keep Midoriya's existence from your parents at this point in time-" The teacher had already raised his head to silence Bakugou's response to that, but also activating his quirk to prevent the blonde from starting any small explosions, "Until we can confirm he is who he claims to be as well as have his 'status' reinstated. We already have the police looking into any possible leads that could make his story null and void. But as far as Nezu is concerned, he is Izuku Midoriya."
"Suffice it to say, the dean will let you know when it's time to tell your parents; otherwise, keep it to yourself." Aizawa pressed the button to call the elevator again before looking back at his student once more, "If you want to make sure he's this person from your past, go watch the practical this afternoon… you may find your answer there."
"Good afternoon, students! Am I a bear? Dog? Mouse? It doesn't matter, I'm the dean!" Nezu called out to the oncoming class of 1-A into the barely lit surveillance room, with many of the students gasping in awe at just how large the room was with all of its currently turned-off monitors. Once Nezu had gotten their attention from the back of the room where Midnight had moved them to before sashaying to her console, the dean began to speak once more, "Thank you for joining us today as we evaluate a potential new addition to your class." Nezu said with his hands behind his back as he stood in the oversized chair he was in, seeing the suddenly raised hand of one Tenya Iida, the tiny creature pointed towards the speedster, "Yes, Mr. Iida?"
"First of all, on behalf of my classmates, thank you for the privilege to attend this showing." The blue-haired student said with a gentle bow before raising back up, "Secondly, my classmates and I have voiced our concerns to Mr. Aizawa earlier regarding how… sudden… this is with the passing of Nirengeki Shoda." There was a pause after that was sad, the atmosphere within the room getting colder as the faculty currently in the room slowly turned towards their employer, even All Might, as the dean kept the smile he had been sporting since the students had entered the room.
"Let me assure you that for myself and all the staff present at UA, decisions like these are never taken lightly or made in such haste. And it makes me proud to see such devotion between your classmates in such a short amount of time." Nezu looked over the students of Class 1-A, some of them smiling at the praise given to them, before the dean was now looking over the lot of them, "Be that as it may, as Aizawa would have informed you this morning, but at some point, Mr. Shoda's spot was going to be filled eventually, and had it been under normal circumstances, this would have been done after the sports festival and during the internships."
"Kero, I'm going to guess that this person is someone pretty special to warrant the speed." Tsuyu spoke up, her finger on her chin, voicing what most of the other students were thinking as Nezu chuckled lightly.
"To be honest, Ms. Asui, even if there weren't a spot open in the Hero Course currently, I would do what it took to bring this person into either Class 1-A or 1-B."
"So it was just bad timing essentially, and now this new person is in our class?" Sero asked while crossing his arms over his chest, a little peeved like most of the others, considering it still felt a little rude for UA to simply 'replace' their fallen classmate so soon.
"Precisely." The dean spoke as the many monitors around the room suddenly flicked on, revealing not only the various camera spots within the test site to the students, which made most of them realize just now how closely they were being monitored during their entrance exams. However, it was a few particular monitors that had caught everyone's eye, as they saw not only their teacher down at the entry point to the test site but also the supposed 'applicant' as well with two people, in particular, looking on in somewhat shock to see who it was, while the red-eyed glare of Bakugou merely squinted at one of the screens with a low growl.
"You will have twenty minutes to secure points for every robot you destroy," Aizawa had said as he looked at Izuku, who was stretching his arms out, stopping midway to look at the sleeves of the gym suit he was given earlier in the day while still listening to the tired underground hero, "Every robot is separated with a one, two or three, indicating how many points each is worth. There is also a fourth model known as a 'zero-pointer'; typically, they warn those taking the entrance exam to avoid them, but you won't have that luxury."
"I'm guessing they are pretty big and hard to avoid?" Izuku asked, his gaze now looking up to Aizawa, who was looking down at his watch for a moment before returning his gaze towards the younger man.
"I'd say they would be considered 'big'," Aizawa responded cryptically before sighing gently, "Regardless, unlike the entrance exam and considering your apparent combat experiences, the robots have been set to a greater difficulty. I trust that won't be an issue?"
"If they are as smart as the dwarven constructs I faced, it shouldn't be," Izuku answered back, as he started to take off the upper part of his uniform, revealing to not only Aizawa but those watching in the surveillance room the strong and well built upper body he had, as well as the myriad of various scars across his back and arms, some of which the underground hero was raising an eyebrow, considering some of them were teeth marks of an enormous animal.
However, that wasn't what Aizawa was worrying about, "Midoriya, why did you take off your jacket?"
"Huh?" Izuku turned his head towards the teacher with a slight tilt to it, "Oh! It was a little tight while I was stretching, and I figured that having the jacket off would give me more freedom of movement. Am I not allowed to?"
Aizawa could only stare at the young man, already preparing for the oncoming headache that would be Midnight back in the surveillance room, as well as who knows how many of the other students freaking out, especially considering Midoriya had gone back to stretching and warming himself up, which would cause further chaos.
Quickly turning on his heel, the underground hero began to walk away from the future student, both hands in his pockets now, "You'll start when the buzzer goes off, and it will sound again when time runs out."
"Oh! Alright! Thank you, sir!" Izuku smiled brightly at the retreating teacher before stretching his back muscles until he heard a gentle pop, "Now, how should I start off?"
"Oooh my…" Midnight cooed as she gently fanned herself from seeing the rather burly young man on the screen before her, "Momma likes."
"Down girl… seriously…" Snipe muttered from his mask before looking towards his friend Power Loader, looking over a list of items that had been previously handed to him when they had first come and sat down at their respective stations, "Whatcha got there?"
"Hmm? Oh, Nezu gave me these earlier, asking me to get the old outdoor forge workshop up and running with some improvements." The support teacher said, offering a few of the papers he had already finished, making the third-year teacher tilt his head slightly.
"That's odd; I thought the plan was to tear it down since no one was using it, considering all that fancy new tech you got over the last two years." Snipe said as he took the papers and looked over some of the improvements to be done to the old support area and whistled low, "Damn, and here I was hoping we could use that space for a shooting range."
"Yeah, well, I guess you'll have to wait for next time." Powerloader chuckled while passing more papers to his colleague, both continuing to ignore how Midnight kept cooing and muttering something to herself while licking her lips, while Aizawa had finally made his way back to the surveillance room, taking his seat close to Present Mic, who welcomed his old friend.
Nezu could only shake his head in amusement at the way his History of Arts teacher was acting, knowing full well that while she may play the part, it was just the persona that Midnight would often display in public. However, the reactions from the visiting Class 1-A were… predictable, to say the least, for ones so young.
"Holy- How strong do you think he can lift?" Kirishima exclaimed with a big smile on his face, "I want to know what his workout regimen is! That's super manly!"
"All of those scars though… just what on earth has this person been up to cause all of them?" Tenya spoke next, pushing his glasses up to try and look over the other man's damaged skin, "I can see claw and bite marks, but I can't quite place what sort of animal would cause such damage."
"You'd think Koda would know? Considering his quirk involves animals." Ojiro asked while crossing his arms over his chest as Tenya looked towards him.
"It's possible, and it's a shame he had not wished to join us. Perhaps should this applicant pass, we can ask him if he is willing to share."
"Um… guys?" Sero spoke up as all the other men looked away from the monitors towards the tape user, "I think Aoyama broke."
Sure enough, as they all turned their gazes toward the French-speaking student, they could see the young man was enchanted, muttering out various French words that most, if not all, of them didn't understand. As the group of men were trying to coax their classmate out of his daydreaming, the women of 1-A were also dealing with their own 'troublesome' group members.
"Oh… Mina likey…" The pink-skinned woman smiled and bit her lip, her golden irises eyeing up the mystery man on screen as her cheeks on a rather purple hue, with her invisible friend gently nudging Mina softly to get her attention.
"Miinnnaaa! Come back to planet Earth!" Toru lightly pleaded, still shaking Mina a little until she got the attention she wanted, "Do you think he's taken already?"
"I dunno, but if he isn't, I call 'dibs'." The alien girl smirked devilishly at Toru, who suddenly stomped her foot and 'pouted'.
"No fair! You can't call dibs!"
"I did, and you can't stop me!"
"Oi, will you two knock it off?" Kyoka grunted as she sent her jacks towards the pair and poked their sides to make them squeal from the sudden 'attack' as the punk rocker huffed low, "At the very least, stop being so thirsty! You don't even know the guy!"
"Pish Posh, just because we haven't met him yet doesn't mean my fellow connoisseurs and I cannot enjoy the view." Mina stuck her tongue out at Kyoka, who merely furrowed her brows more so that the pink-skinned woman could turn towards two of the quieter women. "Ochako? Tsu?" Come on! You two gotta agree with me, right?"
"Eep!" Ochako squeaked when she heard her name, the ever-present blushes on her cheek more noticeable as she looked away and tapped the tips of her index fingers together, remaining silent as she could hear the snickering of Mina and Toru because of her reaction. Tsuyu, on the other hand, simply tilted her head at the pair of women, her finger on her chin before looking up deep in thought before speaking.
"Kero, I am curious to see how he acts and see if he is a nice person first."
"Aww, c'mon Tsu!" Mina pouted, her cheeks puffed a little, "You can't ignore all of that, can you?"
"Never said I didn't, kero." The froggy woman replied as she stared straight at Mina with her large eyes, "But it's also important to make sure he's a nice guy first, then see if he could bench press both me and Ochako, kero."
"Tsu!" Ochako exclaimed, albeit on the quieter side to make sure none of the boys heard as she covered her friend's mouth with the gravity-defying girl's entire face, now neon red as Mina and Toru were doing their best to suppress their giggles as well. Kyoka, on the other hand, sighed heavily at the antics of her classmates.
The punk rocker wouldn't deny that the young man they were watching was handsome and built like a brick house, nor say that she didn't find that kind of look unattractive; it was more the evident thirst coming mostly from Mina, Toru, and now Tsuyu was just annoying her. Gods, they were almost acting like Mineta of all people.
Scrunching her nose for a moment at that thought before lightly shaking her head to get it out of her head, Kyoka then looked to Momo, who had been oddly silent the entire time. When she looked at her taller classmate, Kyoka raised an eyebrow to see that her more composed friend and classmate just stared up at the screen, though sporting her own slight blush, "Uh? Momo? You ok, there?"
"Hmm?" Momo responded with a sudden start, her eyes going wide and blinking as she looked around and then to the violet eyes of Kyoka, "O-Oh, I'm sorry, Kyoka, I must have gotten distracted."
"I'll bet…" The punk rocker sighed heavily, shaking her head in defeat as Momo looked back up at the screens with a worried look on her face.
"I just didn't realize how many scar's Midoriya's body had before."
That made Kyoka perk up suddenly, looking back up at the heiress with a confused look on her face, "What are you talking about?"
"Oh, I couldn't see all the scars on his body when I visited his room last-" The heiress suddenly covered her mouth, her eyes wide as she could suddenly feel not only the gaze of her closest friend in the class staring at her in shock, but also the rest of the girls in 1-A all staring at her, especially with the shit-eating grin slowly forming on one Mina Ashido's lips.
Thankfully for Momo, the blare of the starting buzzer had not only saved her, but brought the attention away from her and her accidental slip of the tongue.
As the echoes of the starting buzzer bounced off of the vast amount of alleys and streets of the faux city, the robot 'villains' across the cityscape were beginning to power on. Four red-lensed eyes flared to life down one particular secluded alleyway as the one-pointer or 'Victory' robots activated and began to look around.
"Locate Hero."
"Locate He-BZZZT!"
The sudden 'death' of one of its comrades made the robots look to see what caused the damage, only to find what looked like a wisp of an arrow slowly dissolve into the air, making the robots start blaring various alarms, perhaps to warn any of the other squadron's lurking about before another spectral arrow punctured another one-pointers head, however, with such a force that it practically pinned it to the wall.
"Hero Detected! Hero Detected! OPEN FIRE! OPEN FI-"The two remaining Victory's spouted out before one suddenly was crumpled under the weight of the green-haired Hero that had landed on top of its body, his hand out and grasping what looked like an ethereal sword from the very air before he quickly brought it down and sliced the remaining robot's head in half, causing it to spark and jitter before falling over lifelessly.
Izuku was panting gently, having to climb up a set of stairs to get a drop on the small pack of robots as he held the 'bound sword' firmly in his right hand, "Wasn't expecting these things to be so flimsy… or I'm just used to the dwarven kind."
"Heat source detected! Locking on!" The mechanical voice of a three-pointer or 'Venator' class robot appeared from the entrance of the alleyway, the large twin rocket launchers firing upon the young man. Izuku had spun around at this point, brandishing the spectral sword skillfully as the missiles quickly made their way towards him, only for the young Dragonborn to shout loudly and with a deep voice.
"TIID KLO UL!"
In mere seconds, the missiles had impacted the floor and walls of the alleyway, which exploded into a fiery storm of death that erupted not far from the three-pointer, which was oddly silent at this point before the smoke revealed it was down for the count, with the ghost-like sword sticking down into the top of its head, with the hilt still firmly in Izuku's grasp, the young man was panting lightly, a slow bead of sweat trickling down the side of his head to land on his bare chest.
"The three-pointers can detect heat sources, huh? And those alarms from earlier means the smaller ones can call in backup…" Izuku was speaking to himself, looking around for any other mechanical menaces before a smile came across his lips, gently huffing as he began to formulate a plan in his mind. As he began to dash towards the alleyway opposite where the flames and metal debris were strewn about, Izuku shouted aloud once again.
"FEIM ZII GRON!"
The surveillance room was as silent as a tomb after witnessing what had just occurred on the monitors before them; pure shock and awe at what they were seeing were the only expressions on the faces of both the students and the teachers until that silence was finally broken.
"HOLY SHIT!"
"Mic, language!" Midnight admonished her friend, who was just pointed directly at the few monitors that were repeating what Izuku had done in just a short amount of time.
"Are you kidding me, Nem?! That listener just devastated not only a pack of one-pointers but also dodged all those missiles that the three-pointer launched like they were nothing and then just vanished like he was some kind of ghost or something!" Present Mic exclaimed before a sudden idea came into his head as he turned towards Power Loader, "Hey Maijima, you think you can bring up the feed from that three-pointer's black box or something?"
"Huh? I think so. Give me a second." The support teacher replied as he quickly began to furiously work on bringing up the footage while the rest of the onlookers continued to watch what else was happening on the battlefield. On several of the monitors, everyone witnessed that Izuku had 'materialized' to a more solid form when he came upon another pack of robots. However, unlike the first bunch he had come across, Izuku seemed to be mocking them, shouting something once again before turning on his heels and going the opposite direction, leading the first group of robots past another, which only seemed to cause even more of the 'villain's' to chase after the green-haired man.
"What the heck is he doing?" Kaminari asked as he crossed his arms, with many of those around him thinking the same thing as they watched Izuku suddenly launch a giant icicle towards another pack of robots, primarily full of two and three-pointers, which started to give chase after it pierced one of their numbers. That had gotten the attention of one particular scarred student who seemed to watch the man on the monitor even more closely.
"I… think he's gathering them all up?" Sero spoke up as the tape user looked towards the radar on one of the more giant monitors, "Yeah! Take a look, guys!"
The students now turned their gazes towards that particular screen to see the growing number of flashing lights of the villain robots growing in number and trailing behind the more significant and blinking light that would represent their classmate hopeful, oddly just keeping ahead of the pack, where the blip on the radar just sped up in intervals. A certain heiress brought her hand close to her chest, the look of evident worry adorning her face, which hadn't escaped the looks of her punk rocker friend or the pink-skinned social butterfly as the exclamation of UA's support teacher caught everyone's attention.
"I got it! Let me just put it up on the big screen and…"
The room fell silent once again, watching from the point of view of the first Venator class robot that had made contact with Izuku near the beginning of the match, where they could see the green-haired young man say something and then suddenly disappear from the camera before it fizzled out into a haze of electric snow.
"What the hell? Hold on, let me slow it down." Power Loader spoke up once again and tapped away at the keyboard to rewind the footage and slow it down. It had taken a few attempts before they could finally catch the movements of the hero hopeful skillfully weaving and dodging around every missile that had been launched at him, only to get a good look at the young man's face full of a determined-looking furrow on his face staring straight at the camera.
What was most puzzling was the way that his pupils seemed to be more slanted like that of a lizard before the feed was cut off from the strike to the three-pointer's head.
"That's… holy smokes…" Toru spoke up, holding onto Mina's arm, "It was almost like he was staring straight into my soul, even though he was looking directly into the camera."
Mina had idly nodded to her friend, not taking her eyes off of the image before slowly biting her bottom lip with a little smile on her lips before the shout from one of the boys broke her out of her concentration as they witnessed Midoriya now propelled a large number of flames and lightning from both of his palms that practically melted a few of the one pointers, or shorting out a couple of others before dashing down another narrow alleyway to gather more of the metallic beings for some unknown purpose. Seeing the sparks of lightning shoot out of Izuku's hand made Kaminari look on in confusion, "Fire, Ice, and now Lightning?! What the heck is this guy's quirk?!"
"Maijima…" Nezu's voice was called out in an unemotional tone, which was not usually found in his usual demeanor, which made the room grow silent once again as all eyes focused on either Power Loader or the Dean.
"Um… yes, sir?"
"Have zero pointers Alpha and Beta launch two blocks north of Midoriya's direction," Nezu said as his beady eyes continued to stare and squint the radar screen with his hands joined together and resting just in front of his mouth, and even though most couldn't see it, outside of All Might who was standing beside the dean, there was an eager looking smile on the diminutive creatures face.
"Let's just see how powerful a "Dragonborn" truly is."
The ground suddenly rumbled and shook, nearly causing Izuku to trip, which forced him to stop and take in his surroundings to locate the source of the disturbance, considering he had an entire army of 'villains' on his tail, "What was that?" Izuku asked himself as his emerald eyes scanned around, trying to keep his senses 'open' for any potential sneak attacks. However, he soon noticed how much darker it had gotten around him, which was odd given the time of day, and as he turned around to see why the sudden change of the lighting, the young man was now staring up at the very tall and large robotic heads of the zero-pointers, both staring down menacingly with each of their right eyes glowing brightly at Izuku with their large metallic hands gripping and crushing the sides and roofs of the buildings they were looking over, but then were pushing through the buildings, sending chunks of cement and concrete flying into the empty road, only to being crushed underneath its large tank treads into dust.
Well, Aizawa didn't exactly tell him how big they were going to be.
Dodging out of the way of the second zero-pointer fist that was brought down and destroying even more of the road, Izuku started to head back the way he had came previously, hopeful there would still be enough time to choose another pathway to lead all the robots to where he could group them all up to take them all down swiftly. Rounding the corner of one of the buildings, Izuku could only find himself now facing the legion of mechanical menaces that he had been leading around the city like a twisted game of cat and mouse were now all staring directly at him.
Izuku cursed under his breath, about to turn once again, but the zero-pointers had now moved behind the hero hopeful, each flexing their steel fists and red eyes flaring up once again.
"SURRENDER OR DIE!" A zero-pointer announced loudly in its robotic tone of voice, which was followed up by the other and much smaller robots calling out for the same, all of their armaments from what looked like barrels of small guns extended out of the hands of the one-pointers, as well as the "tail" ends of the two-pointers, followed by the arming and locking sound of rocket launchers of the three-pointers all echoing out into the air quite loudly.
However, even with the cacophony of noise around him, Izuku didn't hear any of it.
Or more for the fact that he couldn't hear it, as the beating of his heart was the only thing ringing in his ears, increasing with every beat while the blood running in his veins was burning hotter by the second with each resounding and low 'thump' within his chest. His emerald eyes were still looking about frantically, trying to ignore the familiar sensations that he had experienced fewer times than he had liked while also trying to plan a way around this situation he had gotten himself into.
But then, it dawned on him.
There was no one else in this false city, no innocent life that he could accidentally harm with his thu'um, only mechanical beings with no souls, something he had tested while gathering them up when he shouted out an 'Aura Whisper' and found that they hadn't registered any sort of 'life force' within.
For the first time in what seemed like years, Izuku realized he could finally 'let loose' without any sort of consequences, and the smile that was forming on his lips as well as the shrinking of his pupils into thin slits was all that was needed to express his utter thrill of what was coming next.
"Mul…"
That one word escaping past his lips echoed out into the air like rolling thunder that shook the ground around him, sending the small pieces of debris around him flying towards the robotic hordes, which only just bounced off of their shiny exteriors.
"QAH DIIV!"
Only to be bombarded with the sheer force of power from the mighty words uttered by the lone person, knocking back a few of the smaller bots as every single lens now focused on what was transpiring before them, as well as the hidden cameras surrounding the area were all zoomed in on the being before them.
Standing straight in a small crater that had formed underneath his feet was Izuku Midoriya, his body covered in a golden light that seemed to show an outline of what looked hardened scales running up his arms, with spikes protruding from them, with an equally ethereal looking scaled chest that ran up past his neck to form the glow of draconic horns and scales adorning his head and cheeks. From his back, the visage of large reptilian wings unfolded themselves and flourished open, spending a buffer of wind out to further clear the ground of dust and debris, which had made many of the onlookers of the viewing room look on in awe at the powerful being before them.
Funnily enough, Izuku was just as surprised when the wings first appeared as well, considering he never had them before up to that point.
It turns out that by absorbing the soul of the 'World Eater', Izuku would be gifted with Alduin's very own wings in a sense.
A mighty flap had sent Izuku skyward, his messy green curls bobbing back and forth, when the young Dragonborn halted suddenly, his piercing green draconic eyes looking down upon the mass of robots that had now suddenly aimed up at his new position.
"VEN GAAR NOS!"
Only for another shout that caused the faux city to quake as it rocked the mass of metallic beings when a giant cyclone of wind swept all the more miniature robots into a swirling vortex that had been placed in the dead center of the large group. The crunching and screeching of metal destroying one another were music to Izuku's ears as he flipped around mid-air to suddenly catch the giant fist that had been thrown at Izuku with his hands, his arms flexing as he held onto the limb tightly and watched as the massive zero-pointer struggled to free itself from his grasp.
"What's this? You thought that you could sneak up on me, you pathetic hunk of metal?" Izuku huffed out coldly, furrowing his eyes as, with the sound of metal shearing out of its joints and plating, he yanked the large metallic arm off, swinging it around before bringing it down upon the zero-pointer's head, smashing it into the cement, as it left the body twitching from the impact.
Izuku's emerald gaze soon looked towards the second massive robot, looking ready to join the fray, which made the young Dragonborn smile wickedly to himself before taking another enormous flap of his wings to suddenly shoot towards the zero-pointer, only to take another wind-blowing flap to adjust himself and move around the massive robot, grabbing onto it's back and lifting it thing into the air, with more powerful flaps.
"ERROR! ERROR! HEIGHT EXCEEDS NORMAL PARAMETERS!" The zero-pointer struggled to try and get itself out of the grip of Izuku, making the young man bellow out a laugh before snarling low.
"Is the construct afraid of heights? Funny, didn't realize you knew what fear was." Izuku huffed once again, adjusting himself to throw the gargantuan mechanical monstrosity down on top of its fallen 'sibling' with a heavy crunch.
Descending a little closer to the now struggling pair of zero-pointers, Izuku snarled low to his fallen 'prey' as he slowly took in a deep breath, "It's time to end this - YOL TOOR SHUL!"
The surveillance room was abuzz with the cries of the teachers trying to get any sort of view of the battlefield, as ever since Midoriya had taken to the sky for the first time, most, if not all, of the cameras in the surrounding buildings and on the streets, suddenly went dark,
"We got nothing on the cameras in grid five!" Power Loader called out, furiously typing away at the console before him, as did many of the other teachers. The students were looking on in dead silence, considering there was nothing for them to really do or assist their teachers with, but also with how furious they were all working, it best they remained quiet.
"Dean, Whatever he did, he just wiped out all of the little bots!" Snipe called out as everyone watched the minor little blips that formed the mass of red on the radar screen suddenly go out, only to be followed by the more significant two blips that represented the zero-pointers also go out, "Sir! We lost Alpha and Beta!"
"I want camera drones out now!" Nezu exclaimed with his paw outstretched, "Launch the camera drone from Alpha's launching area; it was the closest. We need visuals ASAP!"
"On it, boss!" Present Mic called out, quickly activating the drone, which lit up the main viewing screen once more to life, "Should be seeing visuals in three… two-oh crap!" The radio host called out as everyone in the room gasped, seeing what was being displayed.
A mass of molten metal, with parts of it on fire, filled the screen, where parts of the zero-pointers were laid strewn about, partially melted down to scrap.
"What on earth… " Midnight spoke up, her hands close to her lips and her violet eyes looking on in shock. "H-How is that possible?"
As if to answer her question, the drone was nearly knocked back when a shadow suddenly landed on top of the metallic heap, large ethereal wings blowing back most of the flames and dust. As the drone readjusted its lens, it revealed the back of Izuku Midoriya, standing tall and proud with the wings slowly brought close to his body.
The students and faculty watched as Izuku let out one more massive shout into the sky, causing the very ground and room to shake violently beneath them, almost clearly hearing the words he was speaking in a language no one would understand at the time. However, it wasn't just UA that was experiencing the quakes caused by the sudden shout; it was the entirety of Japan.
From the city streets full of citizens who were going about their day to the seedy bars of the underground world of villains plotting their nefarious deeds, all would hear the words spoken by the once-lost child turned demi-god.
For he has returned, and he is DRAGONBORN!
