Chapter 548 - Chapter 548: Cipher Pol & Marines Movement

On the Grand Line, a towering vessel cut through the waves like a blade. Its pristine white sails stretched high into the sky, marked boldly with the word "CP-8," flanked by the ominous emblem of interlinked black circles. The hull was a seamless blend of reinforced oak and steel, its deep-brown lower deck rising into a stark white-and-blue upper frame. A row of cannons lined the stern, hidden behind a dark, armored bulwark that jutted from the rear. Ladders and chains hung from the sides. The central tower loomed above the deck.

On the deck of the CP8 Battleship, stood a slim, curvaceous woman with long light-colored hair and sporting glasses and lipstick. She wore black blazer and white shirt which was unbuttoned to expose a large amount of cleavage. She had a slim stomach. She wore a black skirt. Her long legs could be seen. She also wore a pair of black heels.

"Captain Alpha, we are approaching the suspected pirate ship," a man in a black suit said.

"Should we ask them to surrender?" another man in a black suit asked.

"Sink them," Alpha responded.

"This could be civilians on board," the first man said.

"We might lose her as well," the second man warned.

"Sink them," Alpha ordered. She smiled and looked at the ship. "You are not getting away again," she muttered.

The two men in black suits ran into the Bridge. Alpha watched the ship coming into view.

She saw a ship sailing gracefully across the sparkling blue sea. Its hull was painted a soft pastel cream. The ship had rails, window frames, and upper deck. Three tall masts rose proudly into the sky, their white sails billowing with the wind. The prow of the ship had a large, dark-blue bottle secured to the bow like a figurehead. Ladders crisscrossed the sides. The pink-and-gold trim gleamed in the sunlight.

At that moment, the cannons aboard the CP8 ship erupted with thunderous force, their iron barrels belching smoke and flame. The first volley screamed through the air towards the ship. One cannonball struck the main deck with a crash, splintering wood and sending shards flying as an explosion rocked the surface. Another slammed into the starboard side, tearing through the hull and leaving a gaping hole that exposed the inner framework of the vessel. A third shot smashed directly into the bottle figurehead at the bow, shattering it into violet shards that rained across the waves. The next hit tore through the rear of the ship, breaching the stern and collapsing part of the structure in a blast. Flames surged across the deck, licking at the railings and devouring the sails as smoke curled into the sky. Screams and the chaos of battle echoed across the water.

Alpha looked at the crack forming along the hull. "Halt," she ordered. The cannons stopped firing. "I will have a look," she added.

"Moonwalk," Alpha said as she launched herself into the sky with a powerful leap. Her feet struck the air, propelling her forward. She soared through the smoke-filled air, heading straight toward the battered remains of the ship she had ordered to be attacked. Her boots hit the burning deck with a heavy thud.

Flames licked across the wooden planks, casting flickering shadows. Men, women dressed in simple shirts and trousers, lay lifeless or groaning in pain. Alpha stepped forward as she looked around.

A small child lay nearby, unmoving, his clothes covered in dust. Alpha continued forward. Her eyes soon settled on a man slumped against a charred wall, clutching his stomach where blood spilled between his fingers. His eyes met hers.

"Why?" he choked out.

Alpha didn't hesitate. "You might've had a traitor on board," she said flatly.

"A traitor? There were women... children... we were just ordinary people," he said as he coughed blood.

Alpha's expression twisted into a bitter, cruel smile.

"I know," she said with a cold edge. "But I don't care," she added. She tilted her head slightly. "The mission," she said, "is more important than any of our lives," she added. Then she laughed.

Without another word, she leapt into the air again, hovering above the cracked and burning vessel. "Storm Leg," she called out, and with a vicious kick, she unleashed a razor-sharp, compressed blade of wind that screamed through the air. It struck the widening crack along the ship's hull and the ship split with a violent crack, tearing clean in half as the wreckage began to sink into the sea.

The man's body tumbled into the ocean below, vanishing into the waves.

Alpha landed back on the deck of the CP8 ship. She brushed a stray ember from her sleeve.

"She wasn't there," Alpha reported coldly. "Log it as a pirate attack. No survivors," she added.

Without looking back, she turned and walked away, her footsteps echoing on the deck as the burning ship disappeared into the sea behind her.

"Captain Alpha, we have heard reports of a giant nearby," one CP8 agent reported.

"The description matches the giant that was spotted in Enies Lobby," a second CP8 agent added.

Alpha thought she could be there. She thought the brat was seen last with them. "Let's go and see them," she ordered. The two agents nodded.

Meanwhile, on the Grand line, three marine ship sailed across. On the centre battleship, 5 Marines stood on the deck. They had recovered from their injuries. The injuries inflicted by the Love Pirates. They looked into the distance.

"We need to capture them and make them pay those dangerous pirates," Sharinguru shouted. He was angry that he was defeated twice by them. He was going to capture them.

"I agree, we need to stop them but shouting does not help," Gorilla responded. He could still feel the wound hurting where Onigumo shot him. He had failed and his superior shot him. He lost to that girl.

"Sharinguru is right, we have to stop them. They are a menace," Very Good said.

"Captains, we will stop them," Guard shouted as he saluted them. His skin had scars from the battle before. He got burnt.

"We will for sure," Sharinguru said.

"Where would we find them?" Gage asked as he slammed his fist. He tried to stop a little girl but the Blue and Black Gorillas got in the way. "I want to stop one for sure," he added.

"We will stop them all," Gorilla said. "Innocent civilians could get hurt by them," he added.

At that moment another Marine came running towards them. "Captains, we have received news that a civilian ship was destroyed and there were no survivors," the Marine reported.

"Pirates are the only ones who are capable of doing such acts," Sharinguru responded.

"We have failed our mission to protect the civilians but we will not let them get away," Gorilla added.

"Did the report mention who was behind the attack?" Very Good asked.

"No Captain but on a different channel, there was chatter on a giant robot being spotted nearby," the Marine responded.

"It is them," Sharinguru said.

"They are the only ones with a giant," Very Good responded.

"Do we know where it was last spotted? Gage asked.

"Yes, we have the coordinates," the Marine responded.

"We should set a course immediately," Very Good said.

They all agreed. "Should we inform the others?" Guard asked.

"Wanze, Jerry and T-bone are on a mission to protect key supply routes," Very Good responded.

"Besides there is no time," Sharinguru. "We will not let them escape," he added.
