"That can't be possible," she said calmly but firmly. "She's out there, somewhere. Maybe hidden, maybe lost… but alive. I'll find her myself if I have to. The goddess' chosen mate for the Alpha cannot be allowed to fall into the wrong hands. I'll take Kraven with me — he's the best tracker we have."
Horace's jaw flexed as he leaned back in his chair, shadows dancing across his sharp features. "Hmm. Do what you must," he muttered, his voice low and dangerous. "But right now, I don't care if she's a goddess or a ghost — I just want my mate. When the war comes, we'll still win. With or without her."
