Chapter 32 - Victory and Calm

The sun had just risen, casting a golden glow across the city. For the first time in weeks, the penthouse felt calm. The constant barrage of alerts, calls, and crises that had defined the partnership between Ryuga & Co and MS Group seemed… distant.

Jenny, CEO of Ryuga & Co, leaned back in her chair, allowing herself a moment to breathe. The hostile moves from Meridian Holdings, the leaked audio, the shareholder panic—it had all come at them like a tidal wave. But now… it was over.

Ryan stood beside her, coffee in hand, eyes scanning the city below with the same calm, cold precision he always carried. "I'd say the board meeting went well," he said lightly, his voice clipped but steady.

Jenny smiled faintly. "Went more than well. Every challenge, every threat—they underestimated our strategy. Meridian's attempt to destabilize us has failed. Investors are reassured. The partnership is stronger than ever."

Ryan's expression didn't soften. "So the fight's finally over."

Jenny looked at him, her eyes soft. "For now. We've won the battle. The board vote passed unanimously. Meridian can't touch us. Our planning, our sacrifices—they paid off."

Ryan exhaled slowly, still composed. "Good."

Jenny leaned back, letting the morning sun warm her face. "This is more than victory over a competitor. It's proof that perseverance, planning, and trust work. That if you fight smart, with the right people, you can survive anything… and win."

He didn't smile. He just nodded. "Agreed."

She reached for his hand, entwining her fingers with his. "We've earned this," she whispered.

Ryan glanced down at her hand, his usual cold composure intact, and squeezed it once. "Yes."

The drive to Ryan's mansion was quiet. Jenny leaned against him slightly, smiling to herself.

As they entered, Ryan's father looked up from his papers, eyebrows raised at Jenny's animated entrance. "Well… if it isn't the infamous Jenny."

Jenny grinned and spun around dramatically. "Infamous? I prefer legendary." She winked. "And yes, I came prepared for my role as partner-in-crime."

Ryan remained silent, posture straight, expression cold as ever. He walked beside her, hands behind his back, a perfect statue of composed composure.

His father chuckled, shaking his head. "Jenny, you've been part of this family practically since birth. You act like you own the place."

Jenny laughed. "Because I practically do. And you know it. Don't pretend you don't enjoy the chaos we cause together."

Christy, Ryan's stepbrother, appeared from the staircase, smirking. "Partner-in-crime, huh? Should I be worried?"

Jenny spun toward him, mock-gasping. "Oh, absolutely. But only for Ryan. Don't worry—I'll leave you mostly alone."

Ryan, still cold and formal, said nothing, his eyes forward as he observed the playful chaos Jenny stirred. Christy chuckled. "I like her already. Smart, fearless… and apparently completely unbothered by your coldness."

Jenny grinned and nudged Ryan lightly. "See? Even he approves of my charm."

Ryan's jaw flexed, his expression unchanged. "I see."

The rest of the afternoon passed with Jenny teasing, laughing, and moving around with ease, acting completely comfortable. Ryan stayed composed, cold, and precise—until moments when Jenny leaned into him, at which point only the briefest softness flickered in his gaze.

Finally, as the sun dipped behind the mansion, Ryan led Jenny to the balcony overlooking the gardens. The sky glowed with the last light of day.

"You did it," Ryan murmured, cold and calm. "We came out stronger."

Jenny rested her forehead against his chest, smiling. "We did it. Together. Like always."

He wrapped an arm around her, still formal, still cold in demeanor. "No more storms—for now."

She laughed softly, "For now."

And in that quiet evening, with the family around them, garden lights twinkling, and decades of trust, friendship, and playful conspiracies behind them, Jenny finally allowed herself to truly relax—knowing that with Ryan, his cold composure, and the warmth of his family (even her teasing stepbrother), she didn't have to fight alone anymore.
