Ethan Herd's voice was doting and gentle, which soothed Scarlett Glenn's whole being as she leaned in Ethan's embrace: "How come you're back?"
Gently patting Scarlett Glenn's back, Ethan Herd replied: "There's no issue at the hospital, the doctor said Mum was just startled and it's not serious. I was most worried about you, so I came back to check on you, fearing you wouldn't sleep well."
Scarlett Glenn nuzzled her face in Ethan Herd's arms: "Yes, I didn't sleep well. It's good that you're back."
The events of the day were truly frightening; the more Scarlett Glenn thought about them, the more she got scared. As darkness fell, she grew tense. Even though she was very tired, once she closed her eyes, she would wake up after a short while, feeling uneasy the entire day.
Ethan Herd kissed Scarlett Glenn's forehead: "Go to sleep, I'm here with you,"
Scarlett Glenn lay there for a while but couldn't fall asleep; she lifted her head and said: "Husband..."
"What is it?"
