"Mum, why... how did you end up here?" Scarlett Zimmerman stammered nervously after being dragged into the car by her mother.
"Don't you have the nerve to ask me?" Mrs. Zimmerman glared at her angrily. "You said you were going out with classmates last night, but instead you ran off to mess around with men. Is that proper behavior?"
"Mum, I really was out with classmates, and I happened to meet Connor Osborne during the gathering," Scarlett hurriedly explained, and indeed, she didn't specifically come out to meet Connor.
"You met him during the gathering?" Mrs. Zimmerman furrowed her brows. "Don't tell me, Connor was a classmate of yours as well?"
