After a few seemingly peaceful days, Gavin Graves carried out his original plan to take Cherry out for horseback riding.
Cherry was much more lively when she left the house, chatting and laughing all the way, even lifting Gavin Graves' spirits considerably.
Some things, if you don't overthink them, are quite easy and comfortable to manage when you're with her.
"Gavin, is horseback riding fun? Just like on TV, you shout 'giddy-up' and the horse runs, you shout 'whoa' and it stops? What if I want the horse to turn? Could we have a race later? See who rides faster, okay?"
She couldn't stop talking in the car, full of enthusiasm for horseback riding.
Gavin Graves smiled and said, "It's a bit early to learn to run. Let the coach lead you around a few laps first. Once you've perfected walking, you can start practicing running."
