James Carter stayed in the living room for a while before knocking on the study door and walking in.
Inside, the two elders were sitting next to each other, each holding a book and reading. When James entered, Old Sir Carter raised his eyelids slightly and said, "Close the door."
James obeyed, closed the door, and then walked further inside.
Granny Carter placed her book down and said, "Saying you're staying to accompany me and your grandpa is fake, but staying to persuade me and your grandpa is real. You came in to try and convince us to let Jillian go back with you, didn't you?"
"Nothing ever escapes the two of you," James responded with a faint smile, admitting the truth. "Jillian has been here with you both for several months now. She's a young girl, so naturally, she wouldn't enjoy staying here too long."
