Charles White hugged her and swayed, like a homeless child, gloomily parting his lips to speak.
Zoe Yale was being swayed until she felt dizzy, almost nodding in agreement.
Coming back to her senses, she quickly reached out to hook her arm around his neck.
"Not yet, we just started dating. If I bring you home now, we'll easily face objections. Besides, I haven't figured out how to explain to Father that I'm secretly in love..."
Facing Charles White's wounded eyes, Zoe Yale spoke more quietly.
Finally, she stood on tiptoe and planted a kiss on his thin lips, raising her hand to promise.
"Though I can't take you home, I can come out to be with you every day. My mom is already arranging matchmaking for me. When there's a chance, I'll take you to meet her; she'll definitely like you."
Zoe Yale smiled mischievously at Charles White, a sly glimmer flashing in her crystal clear eyes.
"If my mom likes you, my dad will like you too."
