Chapter 824 - Chapter 824: Angry Sif

Hearing the surprising news, Skye immediately moved from her bed to the edge, looking at Coulson and asking, "What does it say?"

Coulson responded, "The file isn't directly about you, but about the person who took you to the orphanage."

"That person was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent."

Skye stood up, shocked. "A S.H.I.E.L.D. agent?"

"Why? Who? What does that mean? I...," she stammered, her emotions swirling.

Seeing how emotional Skye was becoming, Coulson continued, "The agent's identity is unknown. We don't know if she was your mother or if she just found you."

Skye, now overwhelmed, covered her mouth with her hands, tears welling up in her eyes, "Mother? It was a woman?"

Coulson nodded and added, "I've submitted a request to access all related files, but for now, this is all I know."

"I'm sorry."

Skye with her eyes red, said through her tears, "Sorry?"

She quickly stepped forward and hugged Coulson tightly, "Thank you. Thank you so much."

After the hug, Skye sat back down on her bed, deep in thought about her origins.

Coulson glanced at her briefly before turning and leaving the room.

Back in the office-

Coulson found May reading some documents.

"Finished reading?" he asked.

May nodded, "Yes. What did you tell her?"

Coulson sat in his chair and replied, "The truth: a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent took her to the orphanage."

May noted, "But you didn't tell her why."

Coulson hesitated for a second before saying, "I couldn't. Some secrets aren't meant to be told."

He looked at May, "Can you help me figure out what really happened?"

May stared at Coulson, "You're walking into murky waters."

Coulson nodded.

After a moment of silence, May straightened up, "But I'll see what I can do."

Coulson thanked her, "Thank you."

May glanced at the document in her hand—it contained information about a woman, including photos of her body with organs removed.

"Poor girl."

May then left Coulson's office. As she walked away, Coulson closed the file and shut his office door.

Returning to his desk, he pulled out his phone and made a call.

"This is headquarters."

Coulson said, "I need to access a classified file, number BCY307604."

"Authorization code?"

"X2896."

"Are you requesting a death and recovery report, sir?"

Coulson nodded, "Yes, regarding a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. I'm particularly interested in the recovery part, which took place on the island of Tahiti."

The operator responded, "I'm sorry, but you don't have clearance to view this document, sir."

Coulson, confused, replied, "There must be some mistake. I have Level 8 clearance."

"I have clearance to view that file," Coulson insisted.

However, the voice on the other end responded, "The system indicates that you do not."

"Would you like me to submit a formal request to Director Fury, sir?"

After a brief pause, Coulson replied, "No, that won't be necessary. Thank you."

At that moment, Coulson began to doubt his own memories of his time in Tahiti.

Meanwhile-

In Asgard, a grand feast was underway.

Sif approached Thor and asked, "You used to celebrate for weeks. Why are you leaving so early today?"

Thor stopped and leaned against a nearby railing, "I remember after the battle of Helagarn, you were so excited you almost started a second war."

Sif laughed, "Well, the first fight was thrilling."

Thor chuckled and shook his head, looking down.

"Join me for a drink," Sif offered.

"The All-Father won't assign you any more tasks tonight, will he?"

Thor looked at Sif and said, "No, but I've given myself a task."

Sif observed him closely, "I've noticed you disappear every night. There are nine realms, Thor, and Asgard's future king can't focus on just one."

Her words implied more, but Thor simply gave a self-deprecating smile, "Thank you for your bravery and advice, Lady Sif."

Without another word, Thor turned and walked away from the celebration.

Sif watched him go, taking a deep breath. As the goddess of War and Harvest, she was not only a formidable warrior but also deeply connected to Asgard's lands.

Yet, despite her strengths, she found herself overshadowed by a mortal woman from Earth.

This realization stung. Her relationship with Thor was well-known throughout Asgard, and even the All-Father and the Queen had approved of them.

But now, an outsider had seemingly taken her place.

Sif, however, was unconvinced. She thought of Jane Foster and her limited lifespan. She didn't need to act—time itself would eventually separate them.

Although she believed her future with Thor was secure, it still frustrated her. She angrily drank from a nearby goblet and stormed out of the feast.

The next day in London-

Jane Foster woke up alone, feeling a sense of disappointment. Since the battle in New York, she hadn't seen her boyfriend. He had promised to visit at least once a month, but he hadn't kept his word.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Jane was about to get up when the door opened—Ayan, one of the werewolves Charles had assigned to protect her, answered it.

It was Darcy, who looked surprised to see Ayan, "Is Jane home?"

Ayan glanced toward Jane's room, "She's probably still in bed."

Darcy shrugged, "I'm jealous of her life—having bodyguards everywhere she goes. Too bad I can't find a prince from another realm as a boyfriend."

Just as Darcy was complaining, Jane opened her bedroom door.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

Darcy walked over, teasing, "I knew you'd be wandering around in your pajamas."

Jane gave her a sheepish smile, pulling Darcy into the room, "I just woke up. You must have something important to show up this early. Spill it."

Darcy reached into her bag, rummaging around, "Remember that piece of equipment you left with me?"

"You might want to take a look at it now."

Jane took the device and noticed it was beeping continuously.

Darcy explained, "We came all this way because of this."

Jane looked confused, "Is it malfunctioning?"

Darcy nodded, "That's what I thought too."

Jane tapped the device a few times and even knocked it against the wall.

Darcy, watching this, said, "I already tried that. I thought you'd be a bit more scientific about it."
