Saffron PoV
After cleaning up the table, we headed outside to the backyard.
Anis wiggled in my arms. Whenever she was like this, it was easy to forget about her condition. "Me wanna fly, Dada!"
I sighed and glanced at my siblings. Alli was giving Sil some pointers on how to do aerial circles in the sky.
"Your flight feathers haven't come in yet, little penguin," Rose said, smiling softly at her.
"Me still wanna try!" Anis insisted, her purple wings fluttering behind her, even if they weren't ready for true flight just yet.
I gave her a gentle squeeze. "I know, my little princess, but let's make sure you're fully ready before you take to the skies. We wouldn't want you to get hurt."
Anis pouted for a moment, her bottom lip quivering in that adorable way that always tugged at my heart. But then she brightened, her eyes sparkling with determination. "Maybe I can jump really high, like a rocket!"
I shook my head. "Ya'll run out of energy if ya bounce too much."
She sighed.
