Rose PoV
I smiled as Saffron stared up the grill while my father filled up the kiddie pool for Anis.
"Splash, splash," Anis said as she returned, wearing her bright pink one-piece swimsuit adorned with little penguins. I was a tad bummed she didn't wear her white dress for long; she looked so ethereal in it. But seeing her in her swimsuit brought a different kind of joy. She radiated excitement and innocence, ready for a day of adventures.
"Look at you, my little mermaid!" I called out, grinning at her as she bounded toward me, her hair still slightly damp from her earlier nap. The way her eyes sparkled with delight was infectious, and I couldn't help but smile wider.
Anis beamed back at me, her cheeks flushed with enthusiasm. "Me ready to splash, Mama!" she exclaimed, her tiny hands gesturing animatedly as she bounced on her toes.
Dahlia chuckled as she watched her grandkid.
