Jason sprang up and cried out, "Bullied?! Who dares bully my dau-"
"Calm down, love." Maria gasped his arm, her hold tight to the point her knuckles went white. "Madison asks us to hear her through. Let's listen to what she has to say first."
Jason clenched his fists and unclenched them again as he sighed. He gazed at Madison, who was biting her lip and gripping Auralia's hand tightly, nervous about her father's reaction.
"You can continue, Maddy." Jason finally settled back down next to his wife. "I didn't mean to get angry like this. I just… They didn't do anything… physical to you, did they?"
He looked so mortified as he said those words, clearly shocked by the idea that anyone would harm his daughter. That he hadn't picked up on anything that was going on.
And Maria was no better, Auralia noticing her hand trembling on her husband's arm. They clearly hadn't expected this at all. No parent did Auralia mused.
