Aiden sat down in a kitchen with a small table and two chairs. There was a fridge and cabinet and a small table, with a plain granite counter that had multiple ways to make coffee, and other items.
He did the homework that was assigned to him, putting his headphones in to listen to music as he went and completed his assignments for the day. As some of the teachers thought it would be funny to give him homework on his first day.
But regardless, he didn't care enough as he thought it was an opportunity to catch up with the other students so that they did think he was lacking behind. Even though he had already taken the class, the work should be easy.
At least he hoped that he still had some of my old homework on my laptop, maybe he could get something out of it. At least they won't know about it.
thirty minutes later…
A medium built man walking in wearing a uniform and badge, grabbing a pot of warm coffee and pours himself a cup. His black hair and olive skin shone, as small water droplets covered his face, as if he was running a marathon.
After pouring himself a cup, he finally noticed Aiden as he looked at him with a puzzled look. Before sitting down at the table.
"Oh hey, you must be Steve's boy, right?" he said, taking a sip of coffee. Looking at him with curiosity, but a little bit guarded.
"Yes Sir, Aiden White" he said, placing his hand out. The man took it and shook. Taking his headphones out of his ears.
"I am Charlie Swan, chief of the Fork police department, nice to meet you" he said, withdrawing his hand, taking another sip.
"Where are you from, Aiden?" Chief Swan said get interested.
"Chicago, Sir" Aiden said, clearly feeling the awkwardness in the conversation.
"The Cubs haven't played them in a while. Do you play any sports?" he said, moving to baseball.
"I used to play basketball, but things happened, and I wasn't able to play anymore." Aiden said, feeling a little past pain.
"Well if you ever feel like playing again, the basketball team would sure like to have you. I would say so cuz we haven't won a game in a while. But I digress." Chief Charlie said, with a cheap smile, going over the small history of the basketball team.
The blaring of the intercom sounded, and the room got a little awkward. "Chief Charlie, it is time for you to pick up Isabella from the aeropuerto." Mrs. Blossom said. (Airport).
"Well got to go... Nice meeting you Aiden, I hope your stay in forks is a nice one, have a nice day" he said getting up and placing his cup into the sink, and moving to the door.
But right before he left. "I understand what you're going through, coming from Chicago, but please don't bring up what happened over there. here. I don't want the good folks to be scared over nothing. Or to find a dead body and have to talk to Steve about it. Ok" he said, getting serious for a little bit.
"Sir, I didn't come here to cause trouble, I was sent here, I just want to lay low and do my time, ok" Aiden said, meaning what he said.
"Oh Ok, and hey kid, I understand but don't try to get into any trouble, and don't stay out too late. There are some dangerous animals out there, ok." he said, as Aiden nodded again
Chief Charlie headed out the door, as his face fully changed to one of joy and giddiness as he was happy that his daughter was finally coming home to him.
An hour later…
After finishing his homework, Aiden scrolled around the web for a bit about forks before looking at some videos, and taking a quick nap.
But he was soon woken up out my sleep by Mrs. Blossom over the Intercom. "Aiden… Aiden, please come to the front desk please, Mijo".
A little groggy, Aiden got up and fixed himself before grabbing his backpack and placing all his items into it and left the breakroom.
Heading past the door and all the office desks filled with different case files and papers. he could hear Mrs. Blossom talking to a young girl as they argued about something.
"Mija, I just want you to be safe, it's just for today, ¿Por qué estás preocupado?" Mrs. Blossom said.
