Chapter 63 - Lockdown

After the Plane Crash incident that killed all the passengers, including the pilot and flight attendants, the Federal Bureau of Investigation received aid from the United States Government to bring the Military to surround the town of Sunshine Valley. Military jeeps, Helicopters, Jeeps, and even Tanks have surrounded the town with many soldiers, not allowing anyone to either enter or leave the town, with suspicion that one of the residents might be the terrorist.

Besides the town of Sunshine Valley, other towns have also been affected, with not as many, but some soldiers patrolling around the town, trying to find the person responsible for the disappearance of other residents of Iowa, with the state being surrounded by the US military and coast guard.

While Scott and Agent Dan have both been locked out of entering the town, his friends were already in hot water with Jim, Natalie, and Dwayne being patted down by soldiers, as well as being forced to show identification. Using their student IDs, they were let off by the soldiers, and Jim would try to help recover Natalie and Dwayne's wounds.

However, things weren't looking good for Bryan. Bryan was also patted down by soldiers, but didn't have anything to identify himself, and he would then be taken to a military camp for interrogation.

Isabelle, on the other hand, was still hiding under the bed with Oliver, fearing that this situation was scaring both of them.

"Big sister, I'm scared." Oliver shaking.

"It's okay. When the time is right, let's meet up with the others." Isabella is patting his head.

During Spring Break, Bryan has been settled on a folding chair next to a folding table, with the tent he was in being an interrogation room.

Bryan was scolded by an enraged soldier monitoring him for any actions.

"You teenagers make me sick! First, you trash a parking lot near my grocery store, and now you are potentially under suspicion for terrorism?!"

"Terrorism? What are you talking about? I have nothing to do with whatever the US military is here for."

The soldier burned the table with both of his hands. "Bullshit! We are looking after a suspect who appears to be a teenager. We don't have any identification on you, so we suspect IT WAS YOU!"

"So your answer is to harass all teenagers? No wonder the US is corrupt."

"The FUCK YOU SAY?!" The soldier brings out his pistol to threaten Bryan.

"Stand down, Fritzker. I can take over." The general, wearing a general uniform, puts Frizker's pistol down.

Fritzker left the tent.

"My apologies, kid. Vice General Fritzker seems to have some rage issues. He spent a lot of time in Afghanistan. Anyway, my name is General Herald. I am in control of this military division. We are currently tracking down a terrorist who allegedly has the appearance of a teenager, the last time the FBI caught on. We suspect that the plane crash near the town has something to do with the same person who killed one of the FBI's S.W.A.T. team."

"So?" Bryan questioned.

"So we gathered all the evidence since the 1990s and saw that many kidnappings and abnormal actions are in a 100-mile radius of this place. Thus, we are now investigating this town and doing our diligent best to capture the terrorist."

"I get it now." Bryan said in a quiet tone.

"General Herald, trust me. I have no idea about the plane crash or kidnapping incident. All I know that is relevant to this is that my mom was kidnapped two years ago and I couldn't find her since."

"I see. I guess we should let you go then."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Kid. Get out of here."

Bryan left the tent.

"One more thing." General Herald grabbed Bryan by the shoulder.

[If you have any association with the Terrorist, me and my men will kill you]

General Harold spoke in a threatening tone.

Bryan then left the tent, feeling scared.

"I got to tell the others." Bryan ran back home

The next day, Jim, Dwayne, Isabelle, and Natalie all met in the basement of Jim's apartment. They discussed the current situation since the US military surrounded Sunshine Valley.

"Guys, we have a big problem." Jim said in a very concerned way.

"I don't think you have to remind us Jim. We all know what kind of shit we are in." Natalie looked outside the window with soldiers and a tank roaming around the street.

"How did this happen? We just finished healing up from what Laura gave us and now we are in some kind of martial law?" Dwayne holding onto Isabelle.

"Dwayne, I'm scared. What is going to happen to us? What is going to happen to the other students in Sunshine High? Is this how we are going to finish our last moments of high school like this?" Isabelle held onto Dwayne.

"Don't worry. No matter what the world will throw at us, I swear to protect you." Dwayne hugged Isabelle.

"There has to be some sort of explanation. I mean the US military has to have some sort of purpose to come into the town." Jim looked outside with Natalie.

"I remember back in Minnesota that there was a riot. People started to protest about a black teenager who was shot just because the police thought he was reaching for a gun even though he was actually reaching for his license and registration in the compartment box. Since back then, many police in riot gear were surrounding my old neighborhood. But never in my life that I seen the military coming to a small town like this." Natalie suggested.

"So you think there's something bigger going on?"

"I think so Jim. If they had to come here, then there's no doubt that something is happening right now and can be a threat to the town."

"I think Natalie's right. Because since I was in Sunshine Valley, nothing like this ever happened to us." Dwayne said.

"But if there is a situation going on, then what is it?" Jim questioned himself.

[It's because of a terrorist]

Everyone looking behind them, it was Bryan who came up the stairs in Jim's apartment.

"It was a terrorist. There's a person in Iowa who crashed a plane and are now suspecting it was this town." Bryan panted.

"Bryan, what are you doing here? I thought you never wanted to see us." Jim said with a confused face.

"Look guys, about what happened to me and Scott, I made amends with him before this shit ever happened. I was wrong when using Natalie's weapon in an attempt to beat Laura up. I just couldn't handle her bratty behavior even though I tried to be nice to her."

Everybody looked down knowing how Bryan felt.

"Bryan, we all know how you felt. We were irritated at Laura too. The thing we were worried about is you. We were afraid that we couldn't be friends ever again. But I'm happy you are back, Bryan." Natalie said.

"Thanks guys." Bryan walked towards the group.

"But back to our discussion. Bryan, can you explain and specify about this terrorism stuff?" Jim questioned Bryan.

"Of course. Yesterday, I was interrogated by General Herald, the guy who is associated with the military roaming the town. I was investigated because he thought that I was the one who caused the plane crash and killed all those people on the plane."

"What?!" Everyone gasped.

"I know. I didn't know how that incident happened. I was just walking home after our brawl with Laura and all I know is that now I'm being interrogated by the military."

"But why did they come here? Why not go to other residences in Iowa." Dwayne questions

"Because there had been a long history of kidnapping near our area."

"Kidnapping?" Natalie questions.

"Ever since 1990, there had been many kidnappings with our town being the hot spot, since then the US government suspected that the person responsible for the plane crash has lived in Sunshine Valley when correlating it to the kidnappings."

"Did this general guy tell you what kind of people are being kidnapped?" Isabelle joined the conversation.

"No, I only know that the military is in our area because of the many kidnappings that occur here." Bryan gave an unfortunate answer.

"Damn, I guess we need to investigate the situation more." Jim questioned himself.

"Look guys, it's early in the morning and we still didn't have breakfast yet, maybe we should think about this later and just enjoy our spring break." Jim try to cheer everybody up.

"Oh my goodness, you are right! I still have to feed Oliver. I remember that he likes bananas on his pancakes!" Isabelle's mood went up.

"Oh man, PANCAKES! I love pancakes! Do you mind if I can crash at your place?" Dwayne said with a drooling mouth.

"Of course, I have enough pancake mix and bananas for everyone if you guys want to come!' Isabelle smiling.

"Sure! I never had pancakes for a long time." Natalie joined.

"I don't mind, I haven't eaten breakfast yet." Jim got off his table.

"Yeah, I'll come too." Bryan joined.

Everyone left Jim's apartment with Dwayne being the last one coming down the stairs. However, due to the stairs being a bit thing and Dwayne having big feet, he slipped and hit his head to the ground.

With the loud banging, Jim came back into the apartment.

"Dwayne, you good?"

"Yeah, I'm good." Dwayne covering his forehead.

"With Dwayne walking out the door, he realized that there was substance from his head. He thought that it was good.

[But it wasn't blood]

It was water that was coming out of his small wound. Dwayne questioned it for a while, but ignored it.

"It must be sweat." Dwayne wiped off the water onto his pants and walked with the others to Isabelle's place.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Smith had been at the house with concerns about her son not being back home in the past few days. What made her worry even more is the military roaming around the streets. With no options left, Mrs. Smith prayed for her son to come back home.

"Please, Scott, come home. I lost my husband and I can't lose you. You are all that I have in this world." Mrs. Smith cried while praying for her son's safety.
