Chapter 534 - Chapter 534: Unfortunate Encounter

Meanwhile, as the Dragons brawled amongst one of them, the chaos ensued as Mawkin rushed straight through. "M-mom!? You said the Descendants were supposed to be here! I don't see anyone!" He'd call out, contacting her through such mental communication, yet his fears made him say such words out loud and proud, invertedly rising more panic from the people and providing him an opening from his less than graceful movements.

"They are. They're simply hiding within the Castle. They're preventing any sort of measure from trying to awaken the Man in the Mountain. Try to reach as much as you can. Your father will be arriving soon to clean up the messes and deal with Cliffside himself. I have faith in you, my son." She'd respond back.

"REAAAAALLY wish you didn't!" Mawkin would look around to find any shortcuts to the place, but was quickly interrupted by a creature in such dark areas. A quick grab against his shoulder and an attempted bite into his neck, one of the undead was able to find him. Scared, the Farmer was quick on casting his magic, scattering his straw into the undead's face. What he didn't knew, thanks to the battle and such shift in currents from the Dragons, was that such had enough force to grate down the Zombie's head, blending it, ripping it down and forcing it to fight blindly, unable to connect its proper attacks, as the man bolted out from the sidewalks and hoped he'd never encounter such a thing again. "ZOMBIES!! ZOMBIES ARE HERE!! I THOUGHT WE JUST NEEDED TO MAKE THEM SICK! SINCE WHEN CAN WE MAKE ZOMBIES!?"

"That would actually be my Disciple's doing, Dhampir." A voice from above, as the man leapt down and took aim towards his bulky body, a jump kick to send him across the area, slamming into a wall, seeing him be slack-jawed upon the impact as he stumbles on the ground. "...So it was true. You were invading us. Perhaps this could be our chance to be properly promoted into being true Ranks upon the Sons of Man."

"Huh...? Hubwha...?" The Farmer's words slurred as his senses came to, looking up and see the robes, no stains visible despite the swarming rain. The most easy detail, however, came from his eyes, ones that made Mawkin's widen in fear. The Monster Seal. "I-I-ITANOS!?!?"

"The very same. Now... let's take our battle to a more private setting, shall we?" The Teacher was quick on raising his arms, much to the visible dismay and begging to cease. His eyes began to glow bright, the seal slowly leaving from his vision, as the Farmer panicked and tossed his Straw into the air, ditching the battle entirely. "Escape is Futile, Shadow Mage!" He'd shout, rushing ahead through the straw to close the gap, the area quickly being formed and sealed across the streets, a circular dome to contain the two. Stonework was forged and kept clean, as if the blood from such attacks never came, torches lined across the walls, depicting the halls in an eerie mood in comparison to such cataclysm. Mawkin would be on his knees as he'd see he was trapped, looking behind and seeing Cupid staring blankly across the area, prepared, in a stance, ready to accept such a reality. "Mawkin Kurorai... Dhampir son of Crimsoñia Bathory and Sozo Kurorai. Brother to the Descendant of Darkness, Envy. Your time is at an end, your life..."

"...Is mine."

Mawkin tried to find an escape, but with how layered the stonework is, it was clear that he wasn't going to leave anytime soon. The Blind would have his seal inscribed, the conditions properly set on its points, with one being excluded out. Because of Mawkin's biology not being directly human, but instead a humanoid, it would count as a 'monster' under Cupid's umbrella through his seal. As a result, it would act as a cost to bypass one of the conditions available, only having to worry about five instead. He was, however, a bit curious. He's never thought to be fighting a Shadow Mage so soon, much less the lowest one, making him wonder what conditions should be met to guarantee his instant kill. He merely stood there, unattested against the Farmer, merely staring down blankly towards him.

Unreadable. Unmatched. Mawkin struggled on what to do for first blood, now that he knew he was boxed in. He'd try to contact his mother in efforts of getting a read, but all he had was silence. Slowly, he recognized the Seal's main ability, but was able to find a workaround as well. Weighing his options, the Farmer simply took a deep breath and charged ahead, screaming like a barbarian, swinging his arms in the efforts to hit something. Cupid would hear this and rush ahead, trying to intercept him. Once he got close, immediately Mawkin backed away, holding himself still, shutting up instantly, watching as the man began to slow down and keep his stance up. "He knew I was gonna go for that feint, wasn't he...? I'm so screwed, man..." He'd think to himself as he'd try to sidestep his way around the Mentor, keeping a close eye on his movements.

"Strange... he was just charging at me right now, yet I can't feel where he's moving. He backed away, for sure. Was it a feint? Why would he scream, then?" Cupid thought, his brow furrowing as he'd try to assess as much as possible from his opponent. His first assumption was that he is somewhat a coward, unable to fight back properly without proper assistance. The problem, however, was that he should've panicked and went all over the place if he truly was afraid of Itanos, leading to his second assumption: Foolish bravery. An act of inner strength, even if the most obvious is in plain sight. What was going on in his opponent's head? What is making him do such strange moves to coax him out of an attack?

He may need to be careful with this one. Mawkin is unpredictable, even to himself.
