Chapter 533 - Chapter 533: Counterplay

"I can see it... The core of your being! The core that made you as strong as you are! I CAN SEE IT!!!"

SHIKK!!!

Stabbed straight through the heart using Koina's dagger, piercing through Adel in that arc and forcing him to breathe improperly, the blood flow being damaged through the Assassin's style. While it can bring him back from death, the fact he set up a way where such a death is better in comparison would force him to endure such hellish pain before going out again and again. Once he took the dagger out, he'd lunge ahead to Koina, breathing down such smog to coat the area and hide him from plain sight. The Assassin struggled to get through such a fog, forcing herself to retreat away and try to find a secondary style she can learn on the fly. The Human Vritra, however, was quick on grabbing her by the leg and pulling her towards the Serpent, having both crash into each other, using such allies to incapacitate each other. "I've taken the Green Dragon. I've taken the Blue Dragon. I have taken the 7's. Each pair is being lined up for me! I CAN SEE IT!!!" He'd shout again as he'd prepare his energy through the dagger, forcing out its strongest move.

Koina could feel her breath grow colder, her body slowing as the smog went into a dark mist, freezing itself over both bodies. She can't find a way to get out or get back her weapon unless she's able to see again. She'd close her eyes and braces herself for her own attack, but what she thought would be a massive blast, instead became a cross up her arms. Small, fish-like figurines swimming across the dark air, coiling around, leaping upwards in order to try and reach her head. It took her a second to realize if such fish reached, she'd lose. She'd try to swat them down, allowing Adel to pour out his remaining strength to slash and spew such venom into the constructs, letting it soak around Koina. Even if she would be ill and damaged by the venom, it was more than enough for an answer to veer away the fish and keep herself alive. The toxin coated her in a second layer of ice, letting it act as armor, her chance to fight back. She'd try to channel her energy through the ice and into such toxins, allowing her body to adapt as she'd rush ahead.

Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click!

The sounds of turning knobs before being pressed, a Dragon being summoned, her eyes widening in fear at seeing such a potential threat arrive.

雷, 雷, 雷, 雷

A straight line of Thunder. Horrified, Koina could only raise her arms to block the sparks that came through the area. "YO! SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" A roar that echoed across the deserted kingdom of Calibren, as two Thunder Dragons emerged, green in scales, conductive in form. The bolts of lightning crackled and split through the clouds, forcing it to part and shatter, exposing the Assassin directly. Furthermore, such lightning bolts bounced off of the ice, a dirty lightning that would strike on all sides, barraging her, bringing her down to her knees as she struggles to handle such a wave, pushed down to her arms once they swarmed enough. Her breathing was being heavier, her eyes darting for a solution, but all she could see was Taro breathing down another mass of smog, before clicking his teeth.

"Dragon Magic - Gorynych."

KA-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

A massive explosion that leveled the town square, reducing it down to brick and earth, as the beasts loomed up above, scouting ahead alongside any other dragons still alive to attack and destroy the castle. Taro would be left standing as the two were beaten, bloodied and worn, scars and sinew visible as their wounds. Pools of such blood were made and slightly froze over because of the frigid air left behind, as the Human Vritra tossed the blade back to its owner. "Had you took advantage and poured out every ounce of energy into your dagger, you too could've pulled this strategy. Alas, you are much too weak to be let back into Orochi just yet." A calm after such excitement, a chance to breathe and reprieve after his victory, crouching onto his own knees to look down on the two. "For one of you, that is the true essence of a Shadow Mage. What we fought before was mere restraint before such might. I am not just a king, but the symbol of Dragons as we know it. Perhaps later on, you can serve as that symbol as well. It is currently tied, one for each of us. When we meet again, we shall see if you can take such place."

"Bastard... how did you...?" Koina struggled to speak, crawling towards him, desperate to get another hit into the one that abandoned her.

"Your magic style revolves around the swinging motion, right? When you swung, your magic got stronger. That kinetic energy is what gave me the opportunity: To force that spell out harder and faster, and to an extent, make it nigh impossible to interrupt. Of course, it'd mean I'd have to TAKE the blade off of your hands, but after what I saw, it doesn't seem to be any harder than I'd imagine."

"You won't get away with this... I've swore to ensure your DEATH!! I don't care if I'm crippled after this, I WANT YOUR HEAD!!" Her shouts were as loud as they were obnoxious, throwing herself to have the faintest chance of closing the distance, only stopped by a sudden knee to her jaw in pushing her away.

"If you want my head, you could've at the very least trained yourself to have the strength for it. The only thing you're ripping out is your ice-like skin. To you, however, I very much await your rematch. A Dragon will not back down from a challenge, even if it kills them. Will you risk such a life to ensure my death?" No rebuttal. No response. Only her nearly dead eyes speaks her intentions, ones that gave him one more smile before venturing forward to find the Man in the Mountain. "As I suspected. Even in exile, Orochi's pride remains strong. Never break away. Chase me to the ends of the earth, if you must."

"I await my early grave." With such parting words, he'd leave, leaving the two away for either their own deaths, or to be rescued by their compatriots. Regardless, it was a fight well earned.
