Chapter 16 - Taking Down A Hobgoblins' Village

Blake was near the border between the LA and MA on the LA side, in front of a hobgoblins' village.

He supervised the movement of the hobgoblins inside and waited for any of them to get out of the village.

It took around twenty minutes for two hobgoblins to get out of the village together.

They got near a denser part of the jungle and, while one of them waited to look for any danger, the other went inside.

Blake direct order the snake to go sneakily and bit the one who went to the denser part while he was distracted.

Blake moved calmly and sneakily in a big distance from the hobgoblin that stayed behind.

After a few minutes, he finally got near the dead hobgoblin.

However, the other hobgoblin got impatient and went inside the denser part to look for the other who did not come back yet.

Blake saw the other hobgoblin coming near and stead of transforming the dead one into undead, he hid himself, and order the snake to prepare to attack.

The other hobgoblin walked inside slowly and attentively with extremely carefulness. When he saw a snake with a lot of bit holes moving slowly around him.

The hobgoblin saw the danger and tried to step on it to kill the snake.

However, the moment Blake, who was supervising the movements of this hobgoblin carefully, realized that the monster saw the king-cobra, he ordered the mosquitoes to form a cloud on the hobgoblin's face just to distract it.

The hobgoblin, who was raising its feet to step on the snake, lost its balance with the sudden surge of mosquitoes around his face and stepped behind, missing the snake.

The snake took the opportunity to bite the second hobgoblin to death.

Blake then started to transform the hobgoblins into his undead. Since the improved transformation that he discovered before used all his spiritual energy when transforming a rabbit, it couldn't do it on even a single hobgoblin.

Therefore, he used the normal transformation of "My Undead Creation" skill.

The two hobgoblins stood up as if they haven't been killed before. The only difference was the two small holes in their legs, but it could be seen just as a small injury.

Blake tried to communicate with them, but they did not know the human language as most of the other monsters.

However, since his controls came with the transition of orders through intentions, he could still order them around.

He ordered them to go back to the village and bring back four more hobgoblins to this same dense part of the jungle.

It is important to highlight that since those hobgoblins aren't very evolved from training, they couldn't feel life, death, or undead energy.

So, they didn't have any means to figure out that those hobgoblins were, in reality, undeads just by their appearance.

The undeads were, in fact, colder and with an appearance less green, since there was no blood flux.

But it was normal for them to be less green if they were bitten by a snake, and they have a snake bite to use as an excuse.

Besides, it wasn't so common physical contact between hobgoblins, so the cold body part could also be overseen.

Blake hid and prepare himself while waiting.

A few minutes after, six hobgoblins appeared including Blake's undead.

Blake's undead were leading the other four to the denser part of the jungle. None of the goblins were with the guard up, as if they believed there definitely wasn't any danger.

When the hobgoblins were deep enough in this dense part of the jungle, he ordered the snake to bite the one on the most back to death.

The last hobgoblin coming suddenly fell lifeless on the floor.

From the sound of it falling, all the hobgoblins turned around to see it.

And they saw a snake striking the second hobgoblin that was the second last one coming.

This hobgoblin didn't have time to react and was bitten by the snake. But, before he was killed, he shook his leg throwing the snake away.

Meanwhile, the other two hobgoblins in the middle were knocked unconscious by the two undead hobgoblins.

The hobgoblin that was just bitten by the snake turned around and saw his friend unconscious.

He tried to attack the traitors but failed to hold himself because of the excess of poison in his body and died.

Blake was actually very worried about the snake's situation after this, since without the snake it would be much harder to kill the future targets as cleanly.

Thankfully, the snake was still alive.

After this Blake decided to transform just two of the hobgoblins and left the other one to have his death energy be absorbed by the snake.

Blake has long filled his tiger and snake with life energy to improve themselves while hunting anything that tried to get in the cave.

So, if they killed anything that Blake wouldn't transform it an undead, they could use the death energy to increase their total amount of undead energy.

However, up until now, they have only absorbed very few small animals such as some random snakes and a few small animals. It didn't allow them to improve too much.

Therefore, absorbing the death energy from a hobgoblin could help the snake to be much harder to kill.

Blake repeated this process a few more times.

He kept the number of hobgoblins small and the other hobgoblins he transformed into undead were infiltrated in the village.

Even though they lost some memories during the transformation, they still had enough to mix between their pears for some time if they didn't interact much with others.

...

After three hours, Blake had already transformed more than half of the villages, including four captains that could speak the human language.

He named the captains as A, B, C, and D to facilitate communication.

The Hobgoblins still remember their names before death, but Blake didn't want to lose time remembering the monster's name. So, he only renamed them himself.

Blake had, in total twenty two hobgoblins.

Blake then decided to speed the process a bit and reunite all the captains he transformed to organize a strategy.

"So, let's speed up the attack. A, you take two goblins and stay at the entrance of the village. Don't let any of them run away.

D, you go with the snake and another two hobgoblins to take down the remaining captain in one hit. Remember, try to do it as sneakily as possible, and don't let the snake die.

B and C organize the other fourteen hobgoblins to knock out the eight hobgoblins, which are all that didn't transform excluding the captain. The remaining captain's death will be the sign to attack.

Now, go and alert me when everything is finished." Blake said to his captains.

Just after that, all the captains walked back to the village.

All the other undeads were left already inside during this quick meeting in order to prevent suspicion.

During these three hours, Blake actually transformed more than those hobgoblins. But he used four dead hobgoblins to strengthen each of the captains, and another four to strengthen his tiger and snake a few times.

The hobgoblin was much stronger and smarter than the snake and trigger, so each dead hobgoblin could improve those two more than once with an abundant amount of death energy.

The tiger's and snake's speed and strength at this point, were already incomparable to the ones before coming to this village. But still a bit inferior to a hobgoblin.

This shows how slow it is for an undead to improve since it would be much more efficient for Blake to just turn those corpses into undead instead.

However, Blake valued the snake's poison, which allowed him to kill very cleanly his prey to preserve more strength after the transformation, and valued the tiger, which is his means of transportation. The faster his tiger is, the faster he can move around.

After a few minutes, the hobgoblin captain 'A' appeared and reported the conclusion of the mission. Everything went smoothly according to his plan.

Blake then went inside the village and transformed almost all the dead hobgoblins into undead. He only didn't transform one to let the new undead hobgoblin captain consume and get as strong as the other.

Although the improvement was small, it offset the loss due to the small bit and the very small internal damage caused by the poison.

So all the undead hobgoblin captains already are as strong as a living hobgoblin captain.

After transforming all the hobgoblins and the new undead hobgoblin captain absorbed the dead hobgoblin left, Blake left the village back to MA where he was going to search for the Five Crazy Demoness.

Blake had already five hobgoblins captains and twenty five normal ones as undead.

He has taken down all the hobgoblins in this village without damaging any structure or even leaving any sign of a fight.

If anyone came to see it, might think that this village was actually abandoned by its residents, stead of it being slaughtered.

Therefore, through information being spread by different rankers who wanted to pay attention to the happenings in the jungle, this event brought a lot of fame to Blake, since Abel, one of the centers of the information gathering and spreading, knew that Blake was going to attack that village.

A village where, in around four hours, 30 out of the 40 habitats disappeared, and the other 10 were left dead without any sign of resistance. one dead hobgoblin body inside and nine others piled outside.
