"I've heard some rumors about this. The King of the Undead isn't a true Titan. He was born from the remains of a legendary Titan who perished in a foreign realm.
For some unknown reason, the newly reborn soul inherited most of the memories of his former body and completed what his predecessor had failed to accomplish, becoming an epic figure.
Later, the King of the Undead, following the memories of his predecessor, found his way back to Erathia and sought to rejoin the Titans. Unfortunately, he was rejected. However, he didn't leave. Instead, he founded the Necromancer Council."
Muria opened his mouth, wanting to say something but finding himself at a loss for words. The creator of the world's most powerful undead force was born from the corpse of a Titan, and such a being still sought to rejoin the Titans, only to be turned away. Any other faction would have eagerly welcomed an epic figure into their ranks, let alone rejecting one.
...
"Get out of my way!" A black spear of death swept across, forcing back a group of twisted gods who were besieging an epic Titan. The King of the Undead, shrouded in black blood mist, approached the Titan. Behind him, a world filled with bones flickered in and out of existence.
"Father!" The dense death aura surrounding the King of the Undead transformed into golden light, filled with vibrant life. Flesh reappeared on the skeleton body piece by piece, and golden eyes once again shone brightly. In those eyes, a deep sense of filial reverence appeared as he looked at a Titan who stood just as tall as himself.
"I'm not your father. My son died long ago in battle." Lord Xuli looked at the Titan enveloped in death, his face filled with emotion. But soon, his expression vanished. This was not his son. He knew that all too well.
"But I remember everything clearly from my childhood with you. My bloodline is a continuation of yours. The achievements I have now are inseparable from you. You cannot deny that. If I didn't have the Titan combat techniques engraved in my body's instincts, I wouldn't have made it this far."
"The memories of childhood are not your own experiences. They belong to the former owner of this body, not something you lived through. You were just fortunate enough to inherit my son's memories."
"I admit he was your son, but so am I. I have the same memories, the same bloodline, and even greater strength. Why won't you recognize me as your son? Isn't my current power enough to make you proud?"
The King of the Undead's face twisted in unwillingness and rage. He had always sought his body's father's recognition, driven by the obsession from his previous life. Even now, he couldn't sever that attachment.
He stretched out his hand, and a war spear, glowing gold like him, appeared in his grasp. It was the personal weapon of this body when it was alive.
When he awoke in the Titan's skeletal remains, the spear was broken, with only half of it left. The rest had crumbled into fragments. He had since gathered all the pieces and reforged the spear, incorporating other legendary metals and even adding source power, turning it into a source weapon.
"If my son had achieved what you have now, of course, I would be proud of him. But unfortunately, he wasn't strong enough and fell in battle beyond the realms. Then you came into existence."
Lord Xuli gazed at the familiar face of the King of the Undead, sorrow evident in his eyes. This face had achieved the long-anticipated greatness, but the soul inside was no longer the one he had once known. Everything had changed.
"Damn foreign gods! This isn't the place for a family reunion!" The twisted gods, who had been forced back by the Undead King's spear, felt insulted seeing them standing there talking. They rushed forward again.
...
In the Boundless Heaven, the Celestial Flame Domain:
"I've just received news that the Titans are at war with the outer evil gods. The battle seems to be in a stalemate. Let's discuss how many of our Celestial Flames we should send to support them," a handsome Celestial Flame spoke from a position near the head of the table.
"I heard it was the Titans who started this war. Why should we support them? Let them fight on their own," said Samuel, a Celestial Flame, frowning. There were still some things he hadn't forgotten, and he was reluctant to aid the Titans. In his eyes, it was a minor issue.
"What kind of talk is that? The Titans are our greatest allies. How can we stand by while they fight against outer gods?"
"Even if they're allies, we shouldn't blindly expand the conflict. From what I've heard, this whole war started because a young Titan, while wandering in the void, discovered traces of an evil god's minions.
The Titan called for reinforcements, and after clearing the evil god's corruption, the ancient Warden himself took action. But after dealing with the corruption, he wasn't satisfied and tracked the evil god back to his body, leading to a cross-realm battle.
However, that evil god wasn't just an individual but part of a larger race. More and more epic Titans joined in, escalating the conflict. If we Celestial Flames get involved, the war will only grow."
"Ridiculous! Are you suggesting we just sit back and let our allies face these evil gods alone? That could lead to Titan casualties!"
"If the Titans are at risk of falling, then so are we. Which is why we shouldn't get involved in this conflict over a trivial matter."
"How short-sighted can you be? How did you even become a Celestial Flame? How much did you steal to get there?" Celestial Flame Aludiba, Mikaela's grandfather, coldly stared at the one unwilling to fight, whether due to personal grudges or narrow-mindedness.
"What do you mean by that? You're slandering my honor! I challenge you to a duel!"
"You're offended by being called short-sighted? You think this war is unnecessary, but that's the mark of a narrow mind," Aludiba sneered. "Let me tell you, the world where the evil gods' minions were found is a wild world, not belonging to any particular race. The Titans had no connection to it, yet they acted selflessly to stop the evil gods. Do you think they were meddling?"
"That world wasn't theirs?" Samuel was taken aback.
"Of course not. It was just a mid-sized world that had been invaded by evil gods, seemingly insignificant. But what happens if we ignore it? That world would fall, and the evil gods would assume that no strong races exist in our cluster. They'd invade one world after another, turning our cluster into a land of death."
"You're exaggerating. Any evil god daring to enter our world cluster would be destroyed."
"If you understand that invading evil gods must die, then you must also know that any evil god reaching into our cluster must be met with a heavy price. The stronger the evil god's backing, the harder we should strike, making sure they don't even dare look toward our worlds."
"No matter what anyone thinks, I'm joining this war against the outer gods. Who's with me?" Aludiba stood firmly in his decision.
"I'll fight too!" Samuel raised his hand.
...
In the Pantheon, the atmosphere was tense.
"Twelve Titans have disappeared. They're no longer in Erathia. With so many Titans gone, should we make a move?"
As twelve epic Titans left in succession, some deities couldn't resist the urge to act, thinking this was their chance to do something.
They were like children whose parents had left the house, eager to cause trouble, forgetting the fate awaiting them when their parents returned home.
"Calm down. The Titans are gone, but are you really thinking of making a move? Anyone harboring such thoughts should rein them in. If I catch you, don't blame me for what happens next."
"What will you do?" The Storm Lord Talos, who stood alongside the Dawn Lord Lathander, challenged with a provocative gaze. Though Lathander held a higher rank, Talos wasn't intimidated. At their level, the difference was negligible and couldn't fully suppress him.
Among the gods, Talos harbored the greatest hatred for the Titans, and he was also one of the most powerful. He was now a god without a pantheon.
His Fury Pantheon had been destroyed. The Beast Lord Malar and the Sea Goddess Umberlee had been slain and would take who-knows-how-long to resurrect. He had no intention of helping them return. As for the Winter Goddess Auril, his captive, she had escaped with a half-blood Titan who wasn't even an epic.
