Chapter 776 - Chapter 776: Endless "Coincidences"

"But seriously, you managed to acquire these resources way too easily, almost like you just stumbled upon them. It's as if this world is treating you like its own beloved child," the Golden Dragoness sighed as she examined the resource map in her hands. She didn't mean anything by it; it was just a simple observation, after all. The world itself is unconscious, and its actions are driven purely by instinct.

"Heh!" Muria chuckled awkwardly, unsure of what else to say.

"Mother, did you gain any new insights during your exploration?" Muria asked the Golden Dragoness, trying to change the subject.

"I've traveled through half of the Yinhuang World this time. I have a rough idea of how to set up a formation to divide the entire world. I plan to use the natural terrain of this world along with some remnants left behind by the previous generations of Titans. The success rate is about thirty percent. With the resources you discovered, the success rate can reach fifty percent."

"Fifty percent?" Muria frowned slightly at that probability. To him, it seemed too low. He wasn't someone who needed to take risks to get what he wanted.

"Be content, young Muria. Do you know what a fifty percent success rate means? We're setting up a formation on someone else's turf, where we could be discovered at any moment."

"But I think with the level of knowledge these Yinhuang people have, even if they find it, they wouldn't recognize these as formation nodes, right?" Muria speculated, rubbing his chin. After all, to those who don't understand formations, they're just pretty glowing patterns.

"Exactly, which is why there's a fifty percent chance of success," the Golden Dragoness said, knocking on Muria's head.

"Mother, how do you plan to use the formation to divide the world?"

"I've already located the capital of the Jiufeng Dynasty. The most powerful forces in this world are concentrated there. I detected the presence of two peak Legends. Until you reach high-level Legend status, don't even think about messing with that place. So, when I divide the world, I'll avoid that area as much as possible."

...

In the central region of the Jiufeng Dynasty within the Yinhuang World, a large city bustled with activity. A massive crowd of Yinhuang people gathered in a circular arena, shouting excitedly. At the center of this arena, a twenty-four-meter-tall Yinhuang person was engaged in a brutal, barehanded battle with a giant bear-like beast.

Blood and sweat splattered everywhere, the primal and savage spectacle electrifying the crowd, who roared with excitement.

Suddenly, a violent tremor shook the city, causing everything to sway. The combatants—both the giant bear and the Yinhuang fighter—paused, looking up at the sky and around them, their faces filled with confusion.

Even the powerful Yinhuang people, capable of tearing apart tigers and leopards, showed due respect in the face of a natural disaster like an earthquake. At least until they had the ability to rival such forces, they maintained a deep reverence for nature.

"What's happening? What caused this earthquake?" The city lord, seated at the highest point in the arena, frowned and asked his attendant with a displeased tone. He had been thoroughly enjoying the spectacle.

"Lord, we've already sent people to investigate. We should have news soon," the attendant quickly responded.

Soon, a rider on a four-clawed black eagle flew in at high speed from the distance and reported his findings to the city lord.

"Lord, a portion of Qianshi Mountain has collapsed, which caused the earthquake."

"Qianshi Mountain collapsed?" The Yinhuang city lord, draped in bear fur, furrowed his brow. He recalled that this was the tallest mountain in his territory. How could it suddenly collapse without warning? "Did you investigate the cause?"

"Lord, the initial assessment suggests that recent heavy rains formed streams that eroded the mountain's internal structure, leading to today's collapse and the subsequent earthquake."

"I see." Hearing his subordinate's report on the cause of the mountain's collapse, the city lord lost interest. He had already investigated that mountain and found no valuable resources there, so whatever happened to it was of little concern to him.

With that, the bloody and savage man-beast battle resumed, and the city lord had no intention of probing further into the true cause of the mountain's collapse.

In reality, the mountain's collapse was due to the formation of a giant formation, a thousand meters in diameter, deep within its core. This formation was just one node in a massive super-formation meant to envelop the entire world. The establishment of this formation had disturbed the surrounding elements, weakening the mountain's structure and causing its partial collapse, which triggered the earthquake.

...

"Muria, you really need to step up your game. Setting up a single small formation caused a whole mountain to collapse. If it weren't for me, you would have already alerted the Yinhuang people," the Golden Dragoness scolded Muria, her tone harsh as she stood atop the partially collapsed mountain.

Muria, his expression awkward, bowed his head in embarrassment. "Isn't it normal to make mistakes the first time? Besides, you were the one who insisted I try."

"Are you seriously defending yourself after messing up? I thought you were capable of setting up at least some formation nodes, but I never expected you to be so bad at it."

The Golden Dragoness glared at Muria, making him shut his mouth obediently. He had indeed made a significant mistake this time, causing a mountain to collapse and triggering an earthquake due to his error in setting up the formation.

What embarrassed Muria most was that his mother had believed in his ability, only for him to prove disappointingly inadequate. This left him with a deep sense of guilt for failing to meet her expectations.

"Next time, I'll set up the formation..." After thinking for a long time, the Golden Dragoness still insisted, "But I'll be watching your every move. I won't let you make any major mistakes."

"Mother, why don't you just do it yourself? You're faster and better at it. If I do it, it'll waste time and materials, and there's always the chance I'll mess up," Muria said awkwardly. To be honest, he wasn't too keen on dealing with such mentally taxing tasks. Delving into these things too much could lead to a receding hairline.

"Waste? Every formation master has wasted countless materials. It's through repeated failures that world-renowned formation masters are made. Waste isn't the issue, nor is failure. What's important is whether you can learn from your mistakes."

"How much did you waste?"

"I don't remember, but if you piled it up, it'd be taller than this mountain."

"That tall?" Muria glanced at the partially collapsed mountain still shrouded in mist and smacked his lips.

"Even geniuses need experience, and experience comes from repeated failures."

"But using these world nodes to gain experience isn't the best idea!" Muria hesitated, realizing that setting up these world-dividing formations carried a lot of pressure.

"What are you afraid of? If you fail, so what? It'll just delay your conquest of this world by a bit."

The Golden Dragoness snorted dismissively. "Don't think I haven't noticed. This world is treating you exceptionally well, as if you're its chosen one. All the world's luck seems to be gathered around you. Conquering this world is just a matter of time."

"It's not that exaggerated," Muria said, scratching his head.

"Look at your mistake this time. With just a little interference from me, none of the Yinhuang people even noticed. Do you think that's a coincidence? Or do you think the Yinhuang people are all fools?"

The Golden Dragoness laid out a fact that left Muria speechless. "Do you think someone who can serve as the city lord of a prosperous central city in a dynasty would be an idiot? Yet, despite a major earthquake, this person only sent a few servants to investigate. After their report, he didn't bother to follow up. It's like he's lost his mind."

"..." Muria opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words, overwhelmed by the implications.

...

The Golden Dragoness continued leading Muria through various parts of the Yinhuang World, setting up formations at nodes she had previously identified.

Even with her guidance, Muria still made some irreparable mistakes, causing significant geological changes at some of the nodes she had selected.

Mountains collapsed, rivers changed course, and plains sank. Yet, despite these frequent geological shifts, they miraculously didn't attract the attention of the Jiufeng Dynasty.

Some of these changes were noticed, while others were not. Even when discovered, the Yinhuang people sent to investigate were misled by a series of "coincidences," merely taking a casual look before dismissing the changes as part of natural evolution.

Under these seemingly heaven-sent "coincidences," the super-formation spanning half of the Yinhuang World gradually took shape, its smooth progress leaving Muria feeling somewhat incredulous.
