"Fifth place, huh?"
At the same time, inside the dressing room of a studio in A-City, Sylvia had just finished recording a song. She logged into the Hero Association's official website and saw her new ranking.
"Isn't this climbing a little too fast?"
Hearing Sylvia's carefree remark, Fubuki could only give a wry smile.
"That was a Dragon-level disaster. Even among S-Class heroes, very few can handle something on that scale, let alone resolve it almost miraculously without a single casualty or property damage. If the people ranked above you weren't all freakish monsters in their own right, your rank probably would've gone even higher."
As someone who had personally witnessed Fang Li and Sylvia join forces to resolve the incident, Fubuki knew exactly how difficult that feat had been.
To be honest, when Sylvia had decided to rush over there, Fubuki had even wanted to stop her. The reason was simple: she hadn't believed Sylvia could handle such a terrifying disaster.
But Sylvia had completely ignored her concerns.
"My man told me to go. If I don't listen to him, I'll get punished pretty badly."
Leaving those words behind, Sylvia had set off without looking back.
At the time, Fubuki had wrestled with herself for quite a while before finally steeling her resolve, gritting her teeth, and following her.
It hadn't been an easy decision to make. After all, if Fang Li and Sylvia failed and the meteorite wasn't stopped, Fubuki would have been buried right alongside them. The disaster zone would have spread across several cities, there wouldn't even have been enough time to escape.
Later, after seeing the meteorite with her own eyes, Fubuki had been convinced she'd come on a suicide mission, nearly laughing bitterly at herself.
Yet in the end, she had witnessed an unbelievable scene.
"Even if my sister had come, I'm not sure she could have done any better than the two of you."
Fubuki gave them the highest praise she could offer.
"My sister is insanely powerful, but faced with a giant meteorite falling with that kind of momentum, it's uncertain whether her psychic power could even affect it."
Yet Fang Li hadn't just confronted it head-on, he had completely destroyed the massive rock.
Only then did Fubuki realize something: perhaps Fang Li was even stronger than Sylvia.
'(Someone that powerful… Why have I never heard of him before?)'
That was the single question lingering in Fubuki's mind.
Of course, the fact that the world's number one Diva had suddenly turned out to be a Level 5 Esper who vastly surpassed Fubuki, with power second only to her older sister, had shocked Fubuki just as much.
Especially because Sylvia had once told her:
"Actually, a little over a year ago, I wasn't nearly as strong as I am now. Back then, I might've even been weaker than you."
Those had been Sylvia's exact words.
Naturally, she was referring to the time before she became Fang Li's Servant and entered the Main God's Dimension.
That revelation had left Fubuki utterly stunned.
'A little over a year ago, she might have been weaker than me?'
In other words… Sylvia had spent just over a year going from Fubuki's level all the way to her older sister's level?
When the thought first crossed her mind, Fubuki had even wondered if Sylvia was just teasing her. But Fubuki also knew that given Sylvia's personality, she had no reason to lie about something like this.
Because of that, Fubuki couldn't suppress the deep yearning in her heart.
'(If I could grow like that too…)'
With that thought in mind, Fubuki had spent the past few days constantly by Sylvia's side. She had become practically attached at the hip, even taking on the role of Sylvia's manager to handle her day-to-day matters.
In a way, she really did act like an apprentice.
Whether Sylvia understood Fubuki's intentions or not was anyone's guess. The Diva hadn't rejected Fubuki's presence and seemed perfectly happy to let her act as a manager, letting Fubuki follow her wherever she went.
Today was no different.
"Fang Li's rank climbed to eighth place too. He moved up ten spots," Sylvia murmured to herself with a sweet smile. "With this, our evaluation for Main Quest 1 should improve quite a bit, right?"
"Main Quest?"
Having overheard her, Fubuki asked curiously, "What's that? Some secret mission from the Hero Association?"
"Hmm, who knows?" Sylvia clapped her hands together and flashed a playful smile. "If you really want to know, then hurry up and reach S-Class."
With that, Sylvia stood up.
Suppressing her curiosity, Fubuki asked, "Are we heading back?"
"Mm." While wiping off her makeup, Sylvia answered casually, "Today's work is wrapped up. Let's go home and make dinner."
Incidentally, Sylvia was the one who cooked at home. While her skills weren't world-class, they were well above average and more than enough to keep Fang Li satisfied.
That fact alone had made Fubuki sigh to herself more than once:
'Just how much good karma did One-Way Rakshasa accumulate in a past life to have a peerless Diva like her by his side?'
Anyone aware of their relationship would probably think the exact same thing. It wasn't that Fang Li was unworthy of Sylvia; rather, having a partner like her was just outrageously luxurious.
Having the world's top Diva devoted to him body and soul was a level of happiness no one else could ever comprehend.
What Fubuki didn't know was that their relationship went far beyond ordinary romance. The two of them had long since bound their fates together, they literally shared a single life. Living and dying as one, their bond ran deeper than that of any normal couple or married pair.
'Rumble…'
Without warning, the entire room shook violently.
Sylvia's hands paused in mid-air.
All across the studio, panicked shouts immediately broke out.
"W-What's going on?!"
"An earthquake?!"
"Could it be a Mysterious Being?!"
"N-No way!"
Shouts erupted from all sides as panic quickly took over, the entire building shuddering violently.
"This is…!" Fubuki's face suddenly went pale as she sensed something. "There's no mistaking it! This psychic power is definitely…!"
Biting her lip, a faint glow enveloped Fubuki's body before she flew straight out the window.
Sylvia didn't stop her. Instead, she quietly began to sing, her body rising into the air as she followed Fubuki outside.
Moments later, both of them emerged into the open sky above the building.
Fubuki looked up.
Hovering in the air was a petite figure, an overwhelming aura radiating from her whole body.
"I knew it…" Fubuki muttered, as if she had already guessed who it was. Her voice trembled with equal parts frustration and dread.
Sylvia looked up as well.
The small figure descended slowly, enveloped in a blazing, intense green light.
Fubuki bit her lip hard, staring at the figure. It took her a long moment before she could finally force out a word.
"So it really is you…"
"Sister…"
The newcomer was none other than…
'Tatsumaki.'
