(Author's Note: Hey guys, I just wanted to take this time and say how awesome you guys are and thank you for the support. I was not planning to make a chapter today, but I got a message saying my story will be on the
(3rd POV)
Hearing Victoria's comment that they found three DNA signatures but could only access two of them confused Layla.
"What do you mean, Victoria? How can we not access the third one?"
"I see that the DNA in question has no history. We can identify the DNA sample but cannot access the DNA record because it has been erased. Simply put, it is like when you cut a document on your computer, but for some reason, it turns into a ghost image on your computer."
Layla took a moment to collect her thoughts from the words she heard. After concluding her thoughts, she said, "Victoria run the DNA through the database. We might not find anything, but will you do that while I am in the Animus."
Victoria was stunned momentarily before responding, "Yeah, I can do that, Layla. When you leave the Animus, I'll have the results ready."
"Thank you, Victoria. Now, back to what we were doing." Layla said with excitement toward the end of her sentence.
"Well, you will have to choose between the remaining two DNA strands to pursue. The choice is yours."
"Let's choose Kassandra. She'll help us find what we're looking for. I have a good feeling about this. Who knows, we might find out about the third DNA strand too."
"All right, boss. We're finally good to go. 431 BCE here we come!" Exclaimed Victoria excitedly.
"The start of the Peloponnesian War."
"Good luck in there. No pressure or anything, but we're all depending on you."
"Abstergo isn't going to win this time. If what the book says is true, and we do actually find the artifact, the assassins will finally have a chance to rise again." Layla said.
"You can do it." Victoria said.
"Oh, and Victoria? Read the book. It holds the secrets I won't be able to find on my own when I'm in there." Layla said seriously.
"Aye aye, Captain."
Then the Animus started putting Layla's consciousness in the history of the DNA strand.
(BCE Kassandra POV)
I was sitting at the top of my house humming a song and fiddling with my spear, lost in the moment. Then I heard an annoying voice call out.
"Hey, shit-face! Get down here!"
I get up and walk to the house's other side to see two thugs from Cyclops' group.
"Cyclops's got a message for you!" Rogue 1 with a shield and bow said.
Jumping down from the house and landing in front of them, I said, "Tell your boss he can stick it –"
But before I could say anything more, Rogue 2 punched me in the nose. Making me tumble back, I spat out the blood in my mouth when I regained my balance.
"Malaka!" I shouted out.
I turned to them and drew out my sword and spear in each hand, prepared to attack them.
"The Cyclops said you like to act tough. So act tough!" Rogue 2 said while also drawing out his weapons along with Rogue 1.
"Get a little closer, and I will." I said, taunting them.
Rogue 1 came and attacked me, but I parried his attack. Circling around Rogue 1 and attacking Rogue 2 for revenge on the punch on my nose.
When he realized I circled behind him to attack his friend, he turned around and swung his sword at me. However, I already knew what he would do and parried his attack again, knocking him back.
Then I knocked out his friend before turning my eyes back to Rogue 1 and attacking him, but he had his shield up to block.
When he saw my attack hit his shield, he attacked me again, but he moved so slowly that I parried his attack again. When he was knocked back, I struck him again, with the shield not being a hindrance, and knocked him out.
Putting away my weapons and rubbing my sore left arm, I said, "Last week? This shit happens every week."
Walking over to the well, I started to sit down against the well, saying, "I can't keep doing this."
Seeing my eagle Ikaros land on a post before me, I said, "Thanks for the warning."
Leaning my head back and holding my nose, I heard footsteps, and a little girl came around the corner.
"What happened to you?" She asked.
"It's nothing, Phoibe. All taken care of now." I said while taking my hand away from my nose.
"The Cyclops again, huh? Hasn't he learned his lesson yet?" Phoibe said while walking over to a broken column.
"Apparently not." I said, then looking over to Phoibe to see her eating my food. "Of course. Help yourself."
Ikaros then landed next to Phoibe. "You hungry too, Ikaros?" She said before feeding him some food making her chuckle.
Phoibe then looked at me, asking, "Do you think Zeus would bless me with an eagle? Like he blessed you, Kassandra? … Maybe you could ask him for me!"
Rolling my eyes and standing up, I said, "I'll try to put in a good word for you."
She happily said, "Finally!"
"So, what are you doing here?" I asked her.
"Oh! I almost forgot! Markos is looking for you."
Grunting, I ask, "What does that weasel want now?"
"Don't know. He wants you to meet him at his new house. On his vineyard."
Surprised, I walked closer to Phoibe, saying, "What? A vineyard? Malaka!" Sounding a bit more angry toward the end of my sentence.
"It's on the road to Sami. He says wine will make him rich!"
Pondering a bit on what I was hearing, I asked, "Since when has he had a vineyard?"
Thinking hard, she answered, "Yesterday I think?"
"So Markos – who owes me drachmae – is buying vineyard? With what money?"
"I dunno" She answered, just as confused.
"where can I find Markos's new, beautiful estate?" I asked sarcastically.
"You know the statue of Zeus on Mount Ainos? It's south of that!"
"Well, I guess I owe Markos a little visit. Thank you, Phoibe," After saying that, she got up and walked over to me, holding out her hand to me and giving me a slight cough.
Looking at her, I chuckled a little and fished out a coin giving it to her.
"I'll go tell Markos you're coming!" She said before running off down the road.
When Phoibe ran past the men on the ground, they woke up.
While getting up, Rogue 2 said, gripping his head, "My head…"
I stood before them and said, "You made a mistake coming here."
Then I cut them down right where they stood before walking toward my destination.
