As she stepped out of her car to head to the store she suddenly felt dizzy and took a moment before getting out and when she felt quite better she got up locked her car and went in the store. While waiting outside on his sister and niece to finish shopping , Jermaine noticed a familiar figure walk past him by the entrance of the store where he was standing though he wasn't sure , he suspected it was that special someone who was dominating his mind offlate and he decided to follow her in the store to try his luck .She had already grabbed a shopping basket and was trying to find the shelf with pads and other toiletries before heading for the pharmacy when suddenly her legs failed her and she felt weak all over and darkness began to take over and when she subconsciously anticipated pain after falling , she felt strong masculine arms around her waist and a palm on her forehead and she also heard a voice that sounded so familiar before everything went dark .
After spotting Rita and being sure it was her , Jermaine decided to approach her when he noticed her losing balance and caught her just in time before hitting the hard floor. The store wasn't packed so no one noticed anything until Jermaine came out of the store carrying Rita bridal style. While he was supposed to focus on where he was going ,he couldn't help but stare at the beauty in his arms from her angelic face to its fine features and her full lips but she had a tired look and creases on her forehead but still looked so peacefully asleep in his arms. Jermaine was brought back to earth when Rita's phone rang and it was her bestie saved with funny emojis calling he knew immediately that it was Claret so he held her well while he took the phone from her purse and received the call only for Claret to start speaking like a radio when he cleared his throat and that was when she noticed it wasn't her bestie on the phone then she asked who it was and Jermaine told her it was him and explained everything to her and she explained Rita's address to him and told him to meet her there that she would take care of her.
He took her to his car and carefully laying her on the backseats of his car and drove off to her address. On getting there he saw Claret by the entrance waving at him. He parked his car swiftly after being directed to the parking lot by Claret and he concluded that Rita was doing well for herself given the kind place she was staying in ,, the compound was vast and filled with well maintained grass and very pretty flowers all over and a spacious parking space enough to fit both their cars and more,, he giggled internally. "Thankyou so much for bringing her home and sorry for the trouble", Claret said to Jermaine and he said that he was glad he was there to help. He took Rita to her room inside guided by Claret and stepped out to allow Claret help her change into more comfortable clothes.
"You can now come in Jermaine ", claret said then added " seems like she's just lacking rest ", it then dawned on him that she was coming from work before passing out and she seemed to get pads and she also looked in pain ,," maybe she's also in pain ", he said while looking at claret in a certain way hoping she would get it without him having to say the "p" word. Claret laughed after understanding him then remembered that their periods were due . Rita then regained consciousness and batted her eyelids lazily then opened her eyes as she tried adjusting to the light then she saw the two people with her in the room and asked what happened ,, she couldn't believe that she passed out ."It must be because i was too tired after the surgery ",, then claret and jermaine asked at the same time what surgery then she tried explaining the whole situation and that's when claret's bestie protective mode was activated and she scolded her for being so selfless at the expense of her well being .Jermaine on the other hand was drawn to the sick beauty lying on the bed and admired how nice of a person she is ,, the more reason why he loves her.
"Is there something on my face ", it was when Rita asked him this that he came back to his senses and realized that they were alone in the room ,,"Naah I was just in my own thoughts ,, ooh and I admire your selflessness but just don't forget about yourself ", He answered ,this felt different coming from him since he has never complimented her ,, its not like she gave him the chance .Back in school she saw him as a playboy and a spoilt brat who had everything at his disposal and she decided to focus on this that were worth her time and energy which was her studies and even if she wasn't good with boys at least she was good with books.
"How come we've never bumped into each other or did you just get back " Rita asked him trying to start a convo to kill the awkward silence between them. "Its not like your schedule allows you to bump into someone ,, maybe falling into their arms ",he made fun of her as he chuckled ,," touche' " she said while blushing and feeling embarassed. " Am just kidding ,, i came here to manage our companies in this region so lets just say am here to stay" he said the last part while looking into her brown eyes as if reassuring her that he's here for her,, his gesture sent a sensation through Rita's body ,, its almost as if when he's near her she loses control of her body and falls at his mercy. They were both lost in each others eyes when claret came in and they pretended not to and she just smiled at her bestie .
"young lady you better learn not to push yourself too hard because the next time you pass out in a random store i won't forgive you ", claret scolded Rita as she handed her meds for her pain and a glass of water ."yes ma'am ", Rita responded playfully and claret almost threw her a pillow but remembered she was sick. Jermaine bid the besties goodbye and promised to check on the sick one from time to time but it is after he had driven off that he realized he hadn't taken her number ,, he made a mental note to do so the the next time they meet now that he knew her address.
