It was time to knock off from work, and I could feel my heart beating fast, Leonardo asked me to wait for him and knowing my brother, he should be here already. My phone went on indicating a message had came in.
"I'm here!" The message read and there was no need to know who it was because it was the one and only Aiden.
"Wait for me in the parking lot." Another message said and it was an unfamiliar number and judging from the tone it could not be anyone else but HIM.
"I can't, I have something to do." I texted back.
"Don't try me, I said wait for me in the parking lot." He typed back and I swallowed.
"I'm waiting for you." Aiden messaged.
What do these people want from me, if I go with Aiden, Leonardo will be pissed. If I go with Leonardo, Aiden will make sure any little freedom I have left is gone. I banged my head on my desk in frustration; I straighten up my shoulders and switched off my desktop and grabbed my bag from the desk and stood up.
I walked out of my office and closed the door, I saw Sandra preparing to leave as well.
"I will see you tomorrow." I said to her.
"Yes, mam!" She replied.
I walked towards the elevator and just prayed that he will not be inside, because it seems like I have bad luck when it comes to that. The doors opened and I breathed in a sigh of relief; I walked in and pressed the button to the ground floor where the reception was located. As the door opened Alex was waiting for me.
"You took you sweet time." Alex said.
"Aren't you going to your car?" I asked her.
"I would but I did not want to miss the drama." Alex said giving me a toothy grin.
"You are wicked." I said to her.
"And you love like that right." She replied.
"Not right now." I said to her.
"So, what have you decided?" She asked.
"What do you think I chose?" I asked her.
"Aiden!" She answered.
"HMM!" I nodded.
We walked down the lobby, as I approached the door, each step I took my heart skipped a beat. I know there was no other choice but to choose Aiden, Leonardo will just have to wait until tomorrow.
"Your brother does not really play." Ales said looking outside and saw Aiden standing outside the car.
"Go home!" I said and pushed Alex.
"I will update you when I get home." I said to her and walked out of the door.
"Okay, okay I will go, love you." She said and we hugged goodbye.
"I'm waiting for you in the parking area." A messaged popped up.
I took a deep breath and ignored the message and walked out, I walked up to Aiden, and he opened the door to the passenger seat. I got in and saw Sam seating in the back with Ashton.
"Hey Ashton!" I waved.
"Auntie!" He said looking up from the book he had in his hand.
He stood and leaned forward and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Ashton, back to your seat." Aiden said.
"Yes, daddy!" Ashton replied.
My phone started to ring, and I turned it to look at the number. It was Leaonardo calling but I could not even answer it in front of Aiden. I declined the call and put it in my bag, but it started to ring again, Aiden turned his head and stared at my phone.
"Who keeps calling you?" He asked.
"No one!" I replied and declined the call.
A message soon followed.
'ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE!'
'I cannot at the moment, I will call you once I am free.' I texted back.
"Who are you texting?" Aiden asked.
"Amber, she was asking something about work." I replied and placed the phone back in the phone.
Aiden always acted like he is parole officer, if a message comes in, he wants to know who it is from. If I get a phone call, he wants to know who called me, I can only use Amber as an excuse with work then he won't ask any further. I just hope that Leonardo doesn't try to call me again.
"Brother, are you taking me home?" I asked him.
"We are going to have dinner first then I will take you home." Aiden replied.
"Brother you can drop me at the apartment." I spoke.
"We are going to eat dinner together." Aiden said in a tone that left no room for negotiations.
"I am sure Ashton will be sleepy." I tried.
"If it is late you will sleep at my house." Aiden said and that shut me up.
No matter what I was going to this dinner whether I like it or not. If I said that I was tired he would say I should rest at his house and trust me, I am trying to stay away from his house. His house was like a jail cell except that I was pampered but he would want to be around.
The car came to a stop; I looked outside and saw that we had arrived at the restaurant. We got out and called Ashton to hold my hand, Ashton ran with his small legs and reached and took my heart.
"Let me carry okay." I said and he frowned.
"I am so big, I can walk by myself." He said puffing his chest.
"You are only five which means that I can still carry you." I said to him.
"No, daddy said I am a man now and should protect auntie like I will with my baby sister." Ashton said and Sam turned to look at her son that had no filter.
"Baby sister?" I asked him.
"Yes, daddy said I need to practice for when I have a sister. Daddy said I must protect her like how he protects you." Ashton said holding his head high.
I looked up at Aiden who was walking ahead of us turning his head a little.
"Brother, did you tell Ashton that?" I asked him.
"Did I say anything bad?" He asked.
"No, brother but..." I said but he stopped me.
"I want him to be able protect her like how I am protective of you." He said his hand on my head as if he was talking to a small child.
"I am twenty-five brother; I am old enough." I said with a pout.
"Twenty-five or not; you will always be my baby sister." He said and ruffled my hair.
"Aiden!" I shouted squatting his hand away.
