"Kui! Come here!" Aok's voice cut across the river, and Kui immediately looked toward the shore.
The Mer prince had moved dangerously close to the water, his eyes fixed on the two people in the river. His expression had already darkened considerably.
"No! Listen to me, Aok. Don't you dare jump in!" Kui raised his voice, swimming backward while keeping one hand firmly around Guilin.
He knew that look. He had only known Aok for so long, yet he had already learned one very important thing about him—when it came to him, the man's ability to think before acting seemed to disappear completely.
Aok's face fell.
His eyes remained fixed on Guilin's arms wrapped around Kui, and the jealousy practically radiating from him could probably have boiled the river.
