Chapter 70 - Legend Nineteen Part Three - The Game of Protection, Or, (Are you fucking serious? Who is going to pay for that hole in the roof?!)

The entire room stood still and silent for a moment as the human wizard couldn't believe what had just happened. Layla looked over her shoulder at her Mistress, a look of determination clear across her face.

"I'm not gonna let her take you!" she told Lucy. There was never even a single second of doubt in Lucy's mind, she knew Layla's words were true.

"Whatever! You caught me once! Not like it's gonna happen again! Now move bitch!" Jaycie demanded as she drew in a big breath. Lucy gasped because she knew what this meant. She reached out to try and grab Layla, but she was going to be too late! Though, once again to her surprise, Layla simply cocked her arm back and punched Jaycie hard against her left cheek, sending her face turning. Flames left her mouth just as her head turned, spraying Sylas all over!

"Layla!" he yelled annoyed, but he was fine seeing how he was a demon and very much fire proof. Though his clothes, funnily enough, were not. His entire suit jacket and shirt were burnt to ash right on his body and simply disintegrated right to the table below.

Hana and Barric couldn't help but laugh at their demon friend, making their grips on the dragon loosen for just a moment.

"Get your filthy demon hands off me!" Jaycie cursed as she yanked all of her limbs inward for a moment, causing everyone that had a hold of her to stumble forward awkwardly. Once they were off balance she shoved both of her arms, legs, and tail outwards at once to shove everyone away! Her plan worked, causing the whole party except for Layla to fall or stumble backwards. With a single flap of her wings, she shot up and regained her balance before stepping back down on the table and dashing forward at Layla.

All the elf could do was gasp as the huge dragon women charged at her, unable to do anything or get out of the way before she was shoulder checked right off the table and right over her Mistress.

Luckily, Lucy was ready this time. She casted a spell from her book just before Jaycie landed on Layla on the hard manor floor. The elf and dragon both found themselves floating for a moment and then separated by an unseen magic force just before it let them go about a foot from the floor.

Layla landed on her ass with a little "Oof!" but Jaycie landed on all fours between the elf and her MIstress. She crouched low and hunched like a wild animal as her eyes settled on Layla. Lucy flipped through the pages of her tome to ready her next spell, but Jaycie whipped her tail hard, sending the book flying from the human wizard's hands and crashing out of the dining room's bay window.

Jaycie's red eyes were still locked on Lyala, her fangs barred at her like an a wild animal, as she let out a bone chilling low growl. Layla's party had all recovered by now and were heading in to help, but Lucy was already right there and the first to respond. She raised her foot up and stomped hard on the tip of the dragon's tail.

"Jaycie! You're here for me! Not her! Turn around you stupid bitch!" the wizard yelled at her. Jaycie's tail snapped away in reflex from the pain as he twisted to face the human once again.

"You know what Mistress... You're right! This IS all about you! Just like everything is!" she shouted before lunging at her, her wings and strong legs shooting her forward.

Without her book there was nothing Lucy could do but push her hands out in front of her and wait for the impact, but once again it would not be so. Just before she clouds coop up Lucy, yet another maid had come to the human's rescue. Canglo the green dragon maid, brought her foot down hard on Jaycie's head, having jumped from her spot at the table into the air and now dropped down to smash the red dragon!

"Take that, you jealous bitch!" she said as Jaycie's face was sent colliding with the floor below, causing the wood to shatter from the force of the blow!

Lucy gasped when she opened her eyes to the sight, surprised yet again that someone cared enough to come save her. Though the victory was short lived as Jaycie slapped her tail and hands against the ground to send her jolting up, and Canglo flying off her. Once she returned to her feet she spit out a mouth full of wooden splinters and wiped the blood from her nose.

"Alright! Enough of this! If I have to kill every single one of you to get to her, then that's what I'll do!" the red dragon raged, flapping her huge wings and sending herself high into the room. Unfortunately the dining room had quite the high ceiling so the dragon had plenty of room to work with. Everyone else stood at the ready, their eyes locked on her.

"Let's see how well the non dragons and demons fare when this place is on fire!" she said with a sinister smile. The red dragon took a deep breath in, readying another jet of flames.

"Whatever we do, we can not let that fire touch anything!" Mistress Nushi yelled. "Demon friends, I hate to ask this of you, but-"

"We got it," Sylas cut her off with a sigh.

"Huh? We do?" Hana asked, unsure of what she or the other demon meant.

"Just watch me and then keep your eye on her!" Sylas told Hana.

Jaycie began to swoop down towards the curtains hanging on either side of the big bay window at the end of the room, but Sylas was already after her. The dragon finally let her big breath of flame go, but her eyes widened once the demon man jumped right in front of her and absorbed the entire flame jet right to his chest.

"You fuc-" she began to curse him, but was soon cut off as she had to dodge midflight to avoid Sylas's claw.

"Ohhhh," Hana realized. "I see what he means!" She kept her eyes fixed on the dragon girl now.

Jaycie kicked off the wall right in the spot she had planned to burn and spread her wings to send herself soaring towards the other end of the room. She took another deep breath mid flight, reading another torrent of flame. Though this time she dove right down towards the dining room table, aiming for the table cloth that spanned the whole thing. She went to let her flame loose, but she was intercepted yet again.

Hana had thrown herself fully nude under the dragon and grabbed her shoulders to keep her face right in front of hers. It was too late for Jaycie as she had already started the next jet of flame, all of it now wasted on blasting the demon maid in the face.

Barric watched on with an excited smile as he held Hana's maid dress she had thrown off just a moment ago. Jaycie ran out of breath and her flame came to an end to reveal Hana's smiling face with her hair and eyebrows still intact. Apparently they were flame proof as well.
