Xylon reached out and gently clasped Eva's shoulders, his touch a subtle yet firm reassurance .
His fingers, warm against her skin, imparted a sense of grounding.
"Eva," he murmured, his voice still cold, "I don't need a weak person next to me …you are a fucking mess,"
"I'm sorry," she choked out, her voice barely above a whisper in the charged atmosphere that enveloped them. "I-I am sorry Xylon,I am so sorry that I am so weak, I never meant to be a burden, to drag you down with me."
Xylon's features contorted with a ruthless intensity.
"You're not just useless," he spat, the words laced with an unforgiving venom that seared her to the core.
"You're an insufferable liability, a stain on everything you touch. I should have known better than to rely on someone as pitiful as you. I'll find someone better, someone who can actually do the damn job without crying or stuttering or just breaking into millions of pieces just to stand next to me ."
