I woke up early in the morning and looked around, noticing that everybody was still asleep. Gaia woke up with me. We were pretty used to waking up in the early morning from when we lived at the house.
"We should try to be quiet Gaia, so we don't wake them up" I quietly whispered to Gaia as I started to get out of bed.
As I started to get out, I heard ruffling coming from Lucy and Aaliyah. I paused for a minute and looked over at Lucy. She was starting to wake up.
"Oh, sorry Lucy, did I wake you up"? I asked Lucy as she sat up in bed.
"No, you didn't, I have been awake for a while. I wasn't that tired after all the rest that I got". She told me in a soft whispering voice.
As she was getting up you can see Aaliyah's arms wrapped around her waist. Lucy gently grabbed Aaliyah's arms and carefully slipped out of them. After she got out of Aaliyah's arms she started to walk to the door.
"Would you like to go look for some food with me Kane"? Lucy asked me while she opened the door to the hallway.
"I would love to, there should be some food in the cafeteria". I told Lucy as we both walked out of the room.
"Meow"? Gaia said to me as she hopped off the bed
"Are you coming Gaia"? I asked Gaia.
"Meow". she said as she hops in the bed with Aaliyah.
"You're Going to stay with her then all righty I'll be back in a bit". I said to her as me and Lucy walk out of the room.
We started walking down the hallway with a little chit chat here and there, but we didn't talk that much. I still felt a little awkward about what happened last time we were together, so I couldn't really look at her without getting red in the face.
"I have to stop thinking about that". I told myself while we walked down the hallway as we are about to enter the cafeteria.
Nobody was at the cafeteria, so I went around and looked in the storage area.
"Just as I thought it Rain and the others must have stored all the food here". I quietly said to myself while looking at all the boxes of food that we worked for.
I crouched down and picked up some of the vegetables. well, I picked up a vegetable. I started looking at it very carefully making sure that there were no imperfections like, mold, worms or soft spots.
"Wow that's a lot more food that I thought there would be". Lucy said while peeking over my shoulders.
"Yeah, me and Rain and a couple other people have been working on the fields for a little while now, so that we have more food". I said to Lucy while picking out some of the vegetables that we can use to make some food.
"All right this should be enough I'll make us some breakfast". I told Lucy as I started going to the kitchen.
"Wow, you're going to make me some breakfast Kane thank you". She said to me with a big smile on her face.
As I walked in the kitchen I went up to the stove and it already had a pot on it. I needed a fire, so I brought my lighter with me. I put some leaves under the pot and lit it up. As I did, I summoned some water and put it in the pot filling it halfway up. I put all the vegetables I had into the pot, leaving it there to boil for a little while.
"Well, that should take only a few minutes". I told Lucy while we waited for the soup to be done.
"D-did you just make water too; I thought you did like nature stuff"? Lucy asked me with a very confused face.
"Oh, yeah my power is from mother nature". I filled in Lucy about my powers, how I met mother nature and how my power works.
She was speechless for a minute or two. But before she could answer the soup was done, I quickly got up and went to the soup and poured us both some bowls. Then we went to find a seat. There wasn't anybody there, so we just picked the first spot that was closest.
"Oh, I forgot here's a spoon". I said to Lucy while making two spoons come out of my hands.
"What, now you can make perfect objects like this with ease. Did you also make these bowls"? Lucy asked while standing up, putting her hands on the table and looking me dead in the face.
"Mm, yeah, I made that bowl". I said back to Lucy nervously.
She looked at me for a little bit but after a while she sat back down looking at the spoon in the bowl.
"You should eat the food before it gets cold". I said while I started to eat my food.
"You're right, but after this we're going to talk". Lucy said to me, and she starts to eat her food.
We both sat there eating our food as we did a couple more people came in. As they did, I finish my food and whit to talk to them
"Hi there there's some leftover soup in the kitchen if you guys want some". I told the people who came into the cafeteria.
"Oh, thank you so much". One of the guys said.
I talked to this guy for a little bit. I learned that he does night duty guarding the back of the school. I was about to ask what his name was but then suddenly Lucy grabbed my wrist.
"It's time to talk, Kane. we'll go somewhere else". She said to me while pulling my wrist taking me out of the cafeteria.
She pulled me along behind her for a while. We ended up in the middle of school and went out to the courtyard. There was nobody there, either they were finishing their duties and getting food, or they were all asleep. So, we were alone, able to talk freely.
"Okay, when you told me about your powers you didn't tell me how much control you had over it, now please fill me in about everything you can do". Lucy told me while making me sit down under one of the cherry trees.
"Like you can make this tree that can heal people, and you can make objects so nicely. Please Kane teach me how to do stuff like that"? Lucy asked me while looking very seriously as she sat down in front of me.
"Oh, mmm, you see it's kind of hard to say, I just trained my powers, and made sure to get enough rest. I also study how my power works and how to use it". I started telling Lucy more about my powers.
We both sat under the cherry tree as I told Lucy how I studied my powers for a couple months and I learned how to use them. I also told her how I got a better connection with my powers after having a dream with mother nature. She looked a little confused when I told her I had a dream with mother nature and that we talked, but as I told her more about the dream, she started to understand how it heap connected my powers.
"So, you're telling me all you do is study your powers and train with them, then had a dream with mother nature that helps you connect more with your powers"? Lucy asked me while staring into my eyes.
"Yep, meeting mother nature made me feel more connected with my powers. But I got so good at using my powers by training and learning more about it". I said to Lucy.
I explained to Lucy how training and studying your powers eventually makes them stronger and helps you learn more about them. I also told her how you don't want to just keep on using your powers without knowing how they work. I also told Lucy all of the encounters with the beast and monsters I had, and how they made me push through my limits.
"I see, I will start studying my powers and taking it easier. I will also try to do different things with it to see what will happen". She says to me as she starts to get up off the ground.
Before I had the chance to stand up Lucy stood in front of me and reached her hand out with a smile on her face. I was stunned seeing such a beautiful sight. Lucy's standing there under a cherry blossom tree. She reaches out her hand to help me up with a beautiful smile on her face. As the wind blows her blonde hair, she tucks some of it behind her ear. while cherry blossoms fly all around her.
"Thank you, Kane, this information will help me out quite a lot". Lucy said to me with a beautiful smile.
"It was no problem, I'm glad that I'm able to share this with you". I said to Lucy as I grabbed her hand, and she helped me get up.
We both started to walk back to our room. We talked a lot more than we did when we first left for the cafeteria. As we got to the door to the room Maya opened the door from the other side.
"Oh, hey there Kane and Lucy what are you guys doing together"? Maya asked as we walked up to the door.
Maya still looks pretty sleepy. She was yawning and rubbing her eyes like she just woke up.
"We just came back from having some breakfast". I said to Maya.
"Really, you guys' whit to go have food without me". Maya said while yawning.
"Well, you were asleep, so we didn't want to wake you. But now that you're awake could you tell me where to find that Penny girl at"? I asked Maya.
"Yeah, she should be on the roof right now". Maya said to me while rubbing her eyes.
"Okay well I'm going to go talk to her and see what she knows about monsters and beasts and stuff like that". I said while looking in the room to see if Gaia was asleep.
"Okay, have fun" Maya said to me as I started walking away.
"Can you have someone bring Gaia to the roof when she wakes up"? I asked Lucy and Maya.
After Maya told me where I could find Penny I started heading towards the stairs. As I got to the second floor, I saw two girls start to go up the stairs in front of me. One of the girls had brown curly hair that matched her dark skin. I couldn't see what her face looked like since I was behind her. The other girl had white long straight hair that went down to her legs.
"Hi there, are you two going up to the roof"? I said to the two girls in front of me.
"yes". The girl with the white long hair said to me in a cold tone.
"Hi sorry about her, she's not really good with talking to people. my name is Penny what's yours"? Penny says as she steps in front of the girl with long hair.
As Penny talks to me, I get a good look at her face. Her eye colors are hazel, and she also has a scar on her left cheek.
"My name is Kane. I actually came up here today to talk to you. I heard you take some notes on the beast of monsters that you see. I would like to talk to you about that". I said to Penny as we started walking up the stairs.
"Really, nobody ever wants to talk to me about that kind of stuff. Well let's go to the roof first then we can start talking". Penny said to me a very exciting voice.
We all started walking towards the roof together. As we were walking it felt like somebody was watching me, so I took a peek behind me, and it looked like the girl was white long hair kept on looking up at me.
"Does she have something to say to me"? I thought to myself as we almost reached the door to the roof.
"Oh, I'm sorry miss I never got your name. mine's Kane what's yours"? I asked the lady with white hair before opening the door.
"My name is Emily, and I know you from my sisters Zion and Xena". She said to me with no expression on her face whit her sharp blue eyes.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Emily, and your two sisters are very nice, they always help us out at the farm". I said to Emily as I started to open up the door.
"Yes, my sisters are very nice". Emily says under her breath with a little smile and blush on her face.
As I go out to the roof there are two people at the front one of them is Andrew and the other, I do not know. As I look around, I see at least two people stationed at every corner. while I am looking around Penny starts to walk up to the edge of the roof and sits down.
"Come on Kane, let's discuss the beast's". Penny says to me while waving me over.
