As me and my sister walked through the hallways, I see a bunch of people tired and wounded.
"It looks like they've been hard at work for a couple of days, we need to get them some food". I thought to myself as we went down the hallway.
As we were walking down the hallway at the end there was a room with a strong golden light coming from it. As we got closer I saw someone come out of the room, they looked completely healed, not tired nor were they hungry, they looked fine. As me and my sister start to walk past the room I see Lucy sitting down wiping sweat off her forehead.
"Hey, Maya, what is Lucy doing in there"? I asked Maya while pointing into the room.
"Oh yeah Lucy is our main healer, her power is incredible. She can heal anything, fatigue, life-threatening wounds, anything but she can only do it 20 times a day and it's quite hard on her". Maya said to me while we looked into the room watching Lucy work.
I looked into the room and notice it was the nurse's office. There were a couple of beds and a sink in a cabinet full of first aid material. I also saw all of the healing bottles empty on the ground.
"They're already gone, it should have been enough to completely heal 10 to 15 people. Looks like they'll need more". I thought to myself as me and my sister started to walk away.
We started to head outside as we did. I see people frankly running around. They looked a little more lively than others. They were carrying water, food, or gardening tools, some of them were even carrying weapons and armor.
"What's going on here sis why is everyone freaking out"? I asked Maya while looking around.
"Oh well, they're just preparing for the next attack, it happens at least four times a day". My sister told me as we walked outside.
"Four times a day that's quite a lot". I told Maya.
"What? when you were out there there weren't that many attacks on you". Maya asked me.
"No, not really, I wiped out most of the monsters and beasts around my area". I told Maya explaining how I defeated most of the beast and that allowed me to run tests on my powers.
"That's strange no matter how many beasts we take down there just always keep on coming it's really bad for us. I don't know how long we can keep going". She told me with a sad look on her face.
We walked outside of the school and we were in the back where the sports field was. Only about 20 crops are growing and they don't look that healthy. I started to walk over to them and I saw one guy taking care of them. The young man didn't look any older than me; he still had the school uniform on; he kind of looked familiar too. But I didn't talk to too many people. That was Alex or my sister who did. I was more of a loner. The guy had dark blue hair with deep blue eyes. He had some freckles on his face but you could barely tell from how dirty he is, he obviously works hard.
"Now come forth water". The guy said while pointing his hand out to the crops.
As he did I saw a glow of light coming from his left hand. The glow was blue and it was coming from a symbol. I couldn't get a good look so I started to get closer. As I got closer I saw his symbol was the shape of a pitchfork.
"Kane this is Rain, he's the only person here who take cares of the crops". Maya introduces me to Rain while she points her hand out to him.
"It's nice to meet you Rain my name is Kane". I said to Rain with a nice smile on my face reaching out my hand to greet him.
"Oh, mmm yes, it's nice to m-meet you, Kane ''. Rain said back to me while stumbling on his words.
Oh yes, now I remember who this kid is. He used to get picked on a lot at school for how scrawny he was. So, I get a closer look at him. He looks different now, not as scrawny but still could use a little bit more muscle, and his hair is longer blocking his face.
"Rain, Kane will help you farm today. He can grow crops with ease and boost them, ok. So, he'll stay here with you". Maya explains to Rain how I am going to help him with the farming.
"Oh, mmm o-ok". Rain said back to Maya while he looked down at the ground.
Maya started to walk away and Gaia went with her. Gaia probably thought she was still down, so she stayed with her to cheer her up.
"Oh Gaia, I'm so proud". I Thought to myself as I watch Gaia and my sister walk away
After that I started to look around at the field that we have to work with. There wasn't much, most of it was covered in garbage or debris.
"First we need to clear this area out". I thought to myself while looking out on the area we had to work with.
So I raise my hand and I summon roots to come up out of the ground. As I did the ground started to rumble and the root shot straight out of the ground.
"Wh-what's going on"? Rain asked me as the root shut out of the ground.
"It's fine Rain I'm just clearing the area so we have more room to work with". I told Rain as I made the roots clear off the ground.
Rain still looked a little confused but he didn't ask me anything else, he just watched me work. I need the roots to start to pick up and clear off the ground. It was kind of destructive but at the end of the day, it still worked. As I was almost done a couple of people started running out of the school.
"What's going on, is there another attack"? A guy asks while running out of the school.
"Oh yes sorry about the disturbance I'm just clearing out the area so we have more room to grow crops". I told the guy who ran out of the school.
As he got closer I noticed that he had some sort of fire around his hand, it looked like he was ready to attack. But as I told him that we are growing crops the fire started to fade away.
"I haven't seen you around, who are you"? The guy asked me as he pointed his finger in my direction.
"My apologies, I should have introduced myself first. My name is Kane. I am Maya's older brother. It is nice to meet you. And who might you be"? I told the guy as I greeted him with a smile on my face.
"You're Maya's older brother, I heard them talking about you so I guess it must be true that you're still alive. And my name is Aaron. I am the main defender here". Aaron told me while looking at me with a serious face.
Aaron looked at me for a little longer, then he started to walk away.
"Okay then carry on but don't cost too much destruction". Aaron told me as he walked away.
"I'm, I'm sorry Kane I should have stepped in". Rain mumbles to me while looking down at his hands.
"It's okay man I thought if I said my sister's name it could give me out of some trouble". I told Rain while patting his head
"Ye-yeah your sister is cool, people have a lot of respect for her". Rain said to me while twiddling his fingers and blushing a little bit.
"Oh~, I see, my sister has some fans, does she"? I said to Rain with a smirk look.
As I said that Rain's face started to turn a bright red. But my roots finished clearing the debris off the ground. I looked out upon the ground but there was no point in even using it. The ground was not healthy at all; it was all dried up and had no sign of life in it.
"Haaa, this is going to be harder than I thought. The ground is destroyed, and you couldn't grow anything in here, I'm surprised you can even grow anything Rain". I said to Rain, while I'm looking out into the field picking up some of the dirt and crumbling it in my hand.
I looked back at Rain. He was blushing a little bit after I complimented him. He was smiling, the guy who usually looks down and gloomy was smiling, it's nice.
"Look at you smiling Rain, you look good, you should do it more often. I think my sister would like it". I told him as I did, I got up off the field.
"O-oh mmm Th-th-thank you". Rain stuttered as he thanked me.
"Okay now stand back". I told Rain as I crouched on the ground.
"O-ok". Rain said back to me.
I crouched down on one knee and put my right hand on the ground. I focused on thinking of healthy soil for growing crops. I focus my power putting a little less than half of it into making good soil. As I did a wave of dirt came up off the ground with a beautiful brown color to it. But I wasn't done yet. Next came the crops. I thought of multiple props like potatoes, tomatoes, corn, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, and radishes, then I made five apple trees.
"Breathing heavily, that's a lot more out of me than I thought, hoo but this should feed plenty of people once it's done growing which will only take a day or two". I said out loud.
"H-how did you do this"? Rain was at odds with what happened.
"It is my power. My power was gifted to me by mother nature herself so I can do a lot of things, cool right". I said to Rain well sitting on the ground out of breath.
Rain was their speechless surprised at what he just saw. I slowly got up off the ground and looked at all the crops that I had made. There are probably over 600 crops with five apple trees. All the crops were very tight together. If it wasn't me who made it they wouldn't be able to survive but luckily my power boost is them.
"Rain your powers water right"? I asked Rain while looking out to the field.
"Yes, that's my power, but it's not that strong". He told me while touching the symbol on his hand.
"Well, that's fine, your power will get stronger over time trust me. But for now you're going to have to water these crops every day; they don't need a lot, just a sprinkle of rain will do". I started to explain to rain how the crops work, and how they're not like normal crops.
As I explained to Rain how the crops work I sat down on a box to get some rest. As I did I watched Rain raise his left hand as he did the symbol on his hand started to glow a dark blue.
"Come forth water and feed these crops". Rain said as he summoned water to feed the crops.
As he did, water started to form in the air above the fields. The water suddenly dispersed into smaller water balls. Then they started to rain down lightly onto the crops hitting every single one. The dirt and the crops gladly took the water in. Once he was done it looked like he was out of breath but he started to walk toward me.
" W-was that enough you think"? He asked me while he was slightly out of breath.
"Oh yes that is plenty. I say, you have quite good control of your powers. I'm quite impressed". I said to Rain as I started to get up off the box.
"Oh, n-no I'm not that good, there are people here with water power who's better than me". Rain said to me a while looking down at the ground.
"Well I'm still pretty tired after using so much of my power. I'm going to go back to my room. You should come with me and I'll give you some food". I said to Rain as I started walking towards the door.
"Oh mmm ok". Rain said to me as he walked beside me.
We both headed back to the school. People weren't running around as much as they were the last time I came through here. I was out in the fields for about 4 hours but there were people on the ground, they were still hurt and hungry. We start to turn the corner to go down the hallway where my sister's room is. Then I see the glowing light coming from the nurse's room.
"Wow, Lucy is still at it. I would imagine her power takes a lot of energy out of her". I said as we started walking past the nurse's room
As we walked past the nurse's room I looked inside, right as I did. I saw Lucy fall to the ground.
"Lucy, are you okay". Lucy's mom said that as she holds Lucy in her arms.
Lucy was very pale; it was obvious that she ran out of energy a long time ago. Aaliyah went up to her sister holding her tightly while her eyes started to water up
"They seem pretty close, Lucy, Aaliyah, and their mom". I thought to myself while looking into the nurse's office.
As I was looking in I noticed that Lucy was completely asleep; it look like she was knocked out. It was quite a sad sight to see someone being pushed this far. As I was about to walk away Aaliyah and I made eye contact. Aaliyah suddenly started to come over to me.
"Kane please you have to help my sister". She ask me so sincerely.
"Okay, let me take a look at her". I said while walking into the nurse's office and up to Lucy and her mom.
While I was going up to Lucy her mom looked at me. Her face was full of sadness. I could understand seeing your daughter work so hard and seeing her go through so much hurt it would suck.
"Well she's still alive, but she's being pushed way too hard her powers will never grow any stronger if she keeps on working like this". I told them as I looked down at Lucy.
"But if she doesn't heal at least 20 people a day we won't have enough to fight back the monsters. I don't want her to do this but she says that she has to". Lucy's mom says to me while looking down at her daughter.
"I see, 20 people a day seems like a lot. Well we have crops growing it will only take 2 days for them to be ready. And I'll take care of the healing thing too, it won't be as good as Lucy's but it will still work". I said while walking out of the nurse's office.
"How are you going to do that"? Lucy's mom asks me.
"I guess you have to wait and see. Okay Rain and Aaliyah follow me". I said while walking toward the middle of the school.
The school was shaped as a square with the middle being hollow for people to sit in; we called it the courtyard. I knew this so I took it to my advantage. As I get to the middle of the school, I went to the outside area where a couple of people were sitting around.
"Okay, sorry guys but you're all going to have to get up for a minute and go inside". I said out loud to everyone who was sitting down.
They all looked at me very confused but they started to slowly get up. They're so out of energy they don't feel like talking back. I got on my knees and put both of my hands on the ground.
"This area is big enough to fit two blossom trees, here I go". I said to myself while focusing all of my power.
I channel all of my power into making two big blossom trees that will be used for healing. As I do the ground starts to shake and two beautiful cherry blossoms pop up out of the ground. They both are on the bigger side but not as big as the one in the gas station. They filled the courtyard of the school. Pink cherry blossoms fell to the ground. It was a beautiful sight.
"That will take care of the healing problem Aali–". Before I could finish my sentence I passed out from using way too much energy.
I don't know what happened next or how long I was out, but I have a feeling that I was going to be asleep for longer than usual.
I started to slowly open up my eyes as I did. I was in a dark room, I felt something warm by me but it wasn't furry like Gaia. It was too dark to see so I started to feel around. It was smooth with curvy shapes.
"What is this"? I thought to myself as I slowly started to get up.
"Hmm". A sound came from the thing that is lying by me.
My eyes slowly start to adjust to the darkness of the room. As they did I could feel my hand tangled in some type of hair. The hair was smooth and straight it felt really nice. My eyes fully adjusted to the darkness, I looked at my hand to see what it was in it. It is beautiful blonde golden hair. My eyes started to drift up the hair meeting a beautiful face. I realised instantly who it was, the symbol on her cheek gave it away.
"What the fuck am I doing here with Lucy," I thought to myself as I could feel myself turning a deep red.
