"Nii-san when did you get back? We heard that your team was sent to Yuki no Kuni to protect a famous actress." Natsuki said, trying to start a conversation with the obviously uninterested ravenette.
"We just returned here today. The mission was somewhat similar in nature to your mission to Nami no Kuni I suppose, only a bit worse.
This surprised a majority of the new arrivals in the room. That mission had been an absolute nightmare for the four newly minted genin. If not for the Kyuubi chakra inside of them Natsuki, Narumi, and Nawaki would have died. Sakura was only able to heal her woulds because of her basic knowledge in medical ninjutsu.
"Wow that's amazing Nii-san!...Um would you...maybe want to go out and celebrate with us for our successful missions?" Natsuki asked, obviously nervous.
Naruto sighed. At least they distracted Minato enough to stop the obvious interrogation. He still couldn't understand his sisters. They used to just ignore him or preach to him about how he should try harder in the academy, then Narumi does a compete turn around in her attitude and starts obsessing over him as much as Natsuki always had? Women were always too complicated for him to deal with. Mikoto and Satsuki were the only exceptions.
"I already have plans for tonight...Perhaps another time." Naruto grew tired of all this commotion. Honestly, he just wanted to finally go back home and spend some time with Mikoto. He had really missed her.
"If that will be all Hokage-sama then I'll take my leave." Naruto stated bluntly as he started toward the door.
Minato looked away from the new arrivals to see Naruto's tattooed back walking away from him. "Wait Naruto!...Please come back home...we all miss you. You don't need to keep avoiding us. You don't have to keep staying with your friends at the Uchiha compound...If you come back we can train you too...I'll even teach you my personal jutsus...Just please come back!"
Naruto paused waling for a moment. Most of the others in the room were hopeful, surprised at Minato's obvious begging, but still hopeful thinking that he was considering it. However they couldn't be further from the truth.
'Do these people really think that we'll all be one big happy family with a few words? I only have one family and one home. I thought I made that clear years ago...They're like that insect Doto, they just don't give up.'
Naruto looked back over his left shoulder, "I am going home...I'm going home to my real family...my only family. A place that I can truly call my home, not that empty estate you're referring to."
Naruto was about to continue his way out the door but was stopped when Kakashi blocked his path.
"Naruto you should really forgive Sensei and Kushina-sama. They're your family after all and really want you to come back to them. They really do miss you."
Kakashi didn't understand why Naruto had distanced himself from his family. The boy's parents were still alive and he had siblings too. What more could he possibly want? Was this all because they refused to train him early on in life? If so the jonin would force him back to the Uzumaki-Namikaze estate.
Naruto never really liked Kakashi. He always followed Minato's beliefs preaching them like they were from the bible or the law. Honestly it made Naruto sick how the man in front of him didn't even live by his own beliefs, but instead the ones that he was force fed by the village and the people leading it. To Naruto Kakashi was of no importance, nothing more than Minato's loyal fanboy.
"Thank you for the advice Kakashi-san, but I prefer to live by my own beliefs not just follow what people tell me to do." He began to walk out once more. His statement made Kakashi visibly upset, the silver haired man went to stop the boy and drag him back to his real home. However, just as he was about to grab Naruto and pull him back into the room the jonin's hand passed through the ravenette's shoulder, burning his fingerless glove off in the process.
A moment of silence passed and by then Naruto was long gone leaving them with only one thought going through their heads.

Dealing with the Hokage and Team 7 had taken longer than had expected and it was already dark out, far past when the Uchiha's usually ate dinner. After grabbing a quick meal of sushi, so that Mikoto wouldn't have to make him anything, Naruto slowly walked home. Wanting to enjoy the fresh air. Although he did enjoy the time he spend in Haru no Kuni, it was good to be back in Konoha.
Naruto had just gotten back home and was expecting to be greeted by and energetic Satsuki who was telling Mikoto all about their mission excitedly, but when he got home he was greeted with a sight he wasn't expecting. Mikoto was sprawled out on the couch sleeping softly. She was wearing a black tank top that showed a fair amount of cleavage and a short black skirt.
Naruto was mesmerized by the sight. Had he been a pervert like his sensei there would be blood dripping out of his nose. Thankfully a pervert he was not, but even so he couldn't help but stare.
At first Naruto had only seen Mikoto as a mother figure, one who could give him a mother's love, but he just couldn't do that to her. He refused to just use her to replace Kushina, that's why he refused to call her Kaa-san or even Kaa-chan when she first asked. Thankfully her never called her any of those titles or things would be a bit complicated right now.
