After finishing his business with Hammer, Clyde left the forge with his new sword secured in his left hand. The weapon felt unfamiliar but not uncomfortable. Its weight was slightly different from the Elderglass sword he had once wielded but Clyde already felt that it would not take him long to adapt.
Hammer understood that everything about Clyde's return had to remain a secret. If the Council learned that the young survivor they had recently rescued was actually someone resurrected from death, questions would follow immediately.
He believed that Maethion could handle the situation for now, but involving too many people would only create unnecessary risks.
Clyde trusted Hammer to keep his mouth shut. The dwarf had never been particularly good at keeping a pleasant expression but he had always been reliable when it mattered.
Clyde also expected him to make sure his apprentices did not spread anything they had overheard.
