Chapter 4 - You are going to pay dearly!

"Let's see what we have here: light-colored skin, thick black curly long hair, sharp brows, straight nose... She must be Egyptian! But who is this beauty, and what is she doing here alone? Could she be a goddess or just a mere mortal?" Geb thought aloud.

*Some minutes ago...*

While pondering his surroundings, Geb suddenly recognized the cave he was in.

"This is the same cave where I hid with Nut before Father came. What happened then? Where is Nut? Father? The warriors? What's going on here?" Geb was growing frantic. Then he remembered—he was the God of the Earth and could ascertain his environment by communing with the earth itself. He bent low, touching the rocks and walls, seeking answers.

"My lord…" the rocks seemed to whisper, answering their master's call.

"Where am I?" Geb asked, his voice firm and commanding as a god.

"My lord, this is Egypt of the 21st century—2022 to be precise," the rocks replied.

"What? So this is Egypt, but in the future?" Geb sought clarification.

"Yes, my lord," the walls responded. "This is Egypt, but not the same Egypt. And your existence is unknown here, my lord."

"What do you mean my existence is unknown?" Geb fumed. "I am a god—an ancient god, the God of Earth, of Egypt. How can my presence be forgotten here?"

"My lord…" The rocks trembled under their master's fury. "You are right. However, to the mortals, your existence was severed long ago. They now believe in machines, technology, artificial intelligence, and such."

"Yes, my lord," the walls confirmed. "Humans no longer call upon the ancient gods. They have forsaken you and the other gods, and in turn, you gods have forsaken them."

"If this is true, then what has the Supreme Father done about it? Would he simply let humans lose their faith and do nothing?" Geb asked, his tone grave.

"My lord, we do not know what the Supreme Father has done, nor are we sure if he still exists," the rocks whispered.

"Though we still feel his will and that of the other ancient gods," the walls added sadly, "your existence is no more."

Geb was shocked beyond belief. He ended his trance, overwhelmed by disappointment in mortals who had betrayed them for machines, technology, and artificial intelligence. What were these things anyway? He puzzled but cared little. His only concern now was to find a way back to his time, consult with the other gods, and stop this unforgivable decline.

Stepping out of the cave through the waterfall—"This wasn't here before," he wondered, eyeing the cascade. "Could it be Nut's doing? Or Mother's?" They were the only two he knew of who wielded such power.

As he wandered the environment, he spotted a figure sitting on the rocks. Though it was dark, the figure was unmistakable. He approached cautiously and studied her carefully.

*Present time*

Geb was still savoring his find. *What was she wearing? What was it made of?* He couldn't understand, but he could understand that she was beautiful. Looking down, he realized he was completely naked—but he didn't care. Normally, his attire consisted of a white linen hanging low at his waist, adorned with a collar and various ornaments placed by his handmaids, especially his crown or hair dressing. He always looked regal, especially when appearing before mortals or in the council of gods.

But now, he was confused by what the Egyptian woman before him was wearing. Even mortals back then barely covered themselves with such strange garments. He just couldn't make sense of it all. *This must be part of their newly formed madness,* he thought, gazing at his so-called treat. And then she moved.

Nessy blinked several times, trying to adjust to the sight before her. Was she dreaming? What was this? A naked man?

"Aaaahhh!" she screamed, covering her eyes as she stood up abruptly and nearly fell, catching herself just in time. Geb stood there, amused by her reaction. He couldn't understand why she covered her eyes—was she showing respect to the Earth God? Perhaps that was why.

Without wasting time, he struck a majestic pose, awaiting her greetings and accolades. Instead, she remained silent, standing stiffly as if waiting for him to dress or leave.

"What are you doing, you moron...," Nessy said through squinted eyes, still covering them. "Go get dressed and stop flaunting yourself."

She couldn't understand this fool. He was naked but acted as if it were completely normal. *Oh my goodness,* she thought, *I have defiled my eyes today.* With that, she turned abruptly, grabbed her things without even arranging them, and ran.

As she fled, she ranted in her mind: *Buffoon, he-goat, is he mad? Yes, exactly—he must be mad to stand naked before me. Or is he trying to rape me? Oh my God, what a pervert, a big fool!* Her cheeks flushed as she ran nonstop toward the bushes where her car was parked.

*Was she insulting him, or was she insulting herself?* Geb wondered as he heard her thoughts loud and clear. What puzzled him was her idea that her eyes had been defiled. Had she truly never seen a naked man before? He was sure he was in his mortal body. Or perhaps she knew he was a god and had never seen a naked god before? But if she knew he was a god, why all the insults?

Lost in his own trail of thoughts, Geb didn't notice the figure sprinting away into the night. Before he knew it, she was far ahead. He laughed to himself and teleported in front of her like a flash of light.

Nessy bumped her head on something hard—maybe a tree. When her head stopped spinning, she realized it was the moron from earlier.

"What the hell! Mister—or whatever you are—get out of my way, you buffoon, before you infect me with your madness, you idiot!" she spat between breaths, panicked. She didn't know if he was a kidnapper or a psychopath on the loose; she just needed to get to her car and leave immediately.

Geb smiled slightly. "So your insults were really for me, huh? Don't you know I am a god?"

Nessy felt the urge to laugh, but those hazel eyes gave her a death stare. Still, she managed to say, "You might be whatever you want. Just let me go, or you'll spend the rest of your miserable life in jail."

Geb read her thoughts instantly and couldn't believe what he heard—she admired him but still cursed him in her mind. He knew he was a feast for the eyes, but this threat of hers would cost her dearly. Then it dawned on him: mortals of this generation no longer knew of their existence. She was completely ignorant of who he was.

"Step aside!" Nessy repeated, fear tinting her voice but refusing to plead. She felt a strong aura emanating from the man but couldn't understand it.

Geb was about to let her go, but he admitted to himself that he knew nothing about this world and hated to admit it—he needed help to find his way back.

"I am coming with you," he said with authority…
