Jack asked a question to Kimberly, but there was no answer. She just kept gulping and gulping. She didn't know what to say. What was she going to say anyway? That she kept crying all day. That she felt for her Dad, a Dad who sent some policemen to silence her.
She wanted to hate William, but she also had some lingering feelings about her father; maybe she still loved him or secretly wanted him to love her just like he loved Journee. She kept blinking at Journee and Jack. William, too, kept staring at her.
"Kim!" asked Journee. "Are you okay?"
"Huh?" asked Kimberly as she didn't hear what Journee said.
"Are you okay?" asked Journee again, politely.
