Archer, too, was ready to tease her back, "that would be the best. Talking to you and smiling at you seems like something is wrong. Go! Go be with your father."
When he patted her back, she felt as if everything would be okay now. He gave her the necessary calmness, courage that she badly needed. She tucked her shirt in, closed her pants and gulped hard to get ready to walk back to her father.
She opened the door to the lobby and let it shut after her. Her feet stopped moving on their own as she was going back to her father. She rested her back on the wall and took a deep breath. Words of Archer kept swirling in her mind. Why did he talk to her like that, even though he was angry at her for using him, for using his body? He gave her the necessary strength, and she was honoured. For a minute, she started liking him.
