Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Hey, calm down."

"I don't want to talk about it," I replied quietly. I get seizures whenever I remember that horrific phase of my life. She tried walking out again, but something caught her attention. Her gaze fell on the closet, and amusement lit up her face.

How come I didn't notice this earlier? "Do you… have a girlfriend?" she asked, raising a brow. Leo quirked his brow. "Excuse me, what?" She pointed to the perfectly arranged clothes and accessories. "Those are yours?" she asked in disbelief.

He nodded, already walking out while shaking his head. "Yes. They're yours." Alicia stood frozen where she was, speechless. "Th–These are mine?" Her eyes widened. "Oh my God!" she squealed, twirling in the center of the room. "This is what I've always dreamed of!" She giggled, hugging herself, until a thought struck her, and the smile disappeared from her face.

"But I won't wear them," she said firmly. "I don't want anyone thinking I'm a gold digger."

She walked into the bathroom and gasped.

"Seriously? Does everything around him have to be black? This is unbelievable. Even the toilet seat is black. Who in their right mind does that?"

She picked up a towel and scoffed. "A black towel? What next? Is his scrub black too?"

The only thing adding a hint of color was the golden tub in the center. She let out a long sigh. This bathroom is huge," she admired as she walked further in.

On one glass shelf, an impressive collection of cosmetics was neatly arranged different brands, scents, and flavors. Clearly, those were meant for her. On a separate shelf, Leo's grooming products sat in organized rows. She picked the milk and strawberry-scented soap and shampoo. "Hmm… this will do. I've never owned anything this fancy. I hope I picked the right scent it should soothe my skin."

She soaked herself in a warm, luxurious bath. The scent of the soap and shampoo wrapped around her like a hug, and the rose-scented oil added a sweet richness to the mix. It was a perfect blend of roses, strawberries, and milk. She stepped out of the tub, feeling soft, smelling divine, and glowing with satisfaction.

After drying off, she slid into a silky blue nightgown and made her way to the bedroom.

Leo's P.O.V.

I was busy working on my laptop when she barged in and her scent hit me instantly. The room was filled with that familiar fragrance.

Surprisingly, she chose my favorite. My Mama's scent… A mix of roses, strawberries, and milk. I couldn't get enough of it. And to top it all off, she looked gorgeous in the blue silk gown I got her.

Alicia's P.O.V.

I stepped into the room and saw him at his desk, typing away on his laptop. But the moment he noticed me, he froze. He just… stared. Is he… salivating? What is wrong with him? I walked up to him and snapped my fingers. "Hello? Can you hear me?"

"Uh… yeah," he cleared his throat. "Do you need something?" "Not really," I said, folding my arms. "You were staring a bit too much."

I walked to the other side of the bed and sat down. The mattress dipped slightly. Leo looked up, startled. "Alicia, hold on." I turned to him, raising a brow. "Why?"

"I don't share." "So?" I blinked. "Wait, you want me to sleep on the couch?" Never knew you were that smart," he said with a sly smirk.

"You've got to be kidding me, Leo. We're married partners. How can you kick your wife out of the bed?" I pouted dramatically. He groaned, rolling his eyes. "Hrrghh… do whatever you want."

I grinned playfully and reached over to turn off the lamp beside me. "Goodnight, babe," I said sweetly. "And before you make another silly comment, please finish whatever you're doing quickly. I can't sleep with the light on."

"What the—"

"Yup yup, sweet dreams," I giggled under the covers.
