[1st POV]
(Timeskip)
Hello again.
I am sure you don't recognise me anymore after the drastic change I've gone through in 6 years.
My name is Katsuki Bakugo, and I am an individual with extraordinary humility and virtue.
I don't go around calling everyone peasants anymore. I no longer operate with the illusion that I was superior to everyone else in the world.
Indeed, it was no longer an illusion.
I am superior to everyone else in the world. The moment I realised this, I became a true sage of humility.
Now, I am 12 years old who is far above his peers in terms of maturity and every quantifiable attribute.
At this point, I finally understood the likes of Gojo Satoru, Hashirama Senju, Meruem, and even Saitama.
It was lonely at the top.
To be so far above everyone else meant being alone.
I don't even have friends anymore. Friends are equals that understand each other and come together.
And yet I have no equal.
...
Right now, I was on a quest.
A quest to find people. I don't have the impossible dream of finding my equal, but the best I could do was find people who would be as close to me as possible.
Fortunately, I know them through the memories of a different world.
The people who could stand right below me and therefore support me.
Kirishima, half-half dude, alien girl, invisible girl, the engine dude, frog lady, big lips dude and so on.
I do not know where they live, but I was searching for them. I had plenty of time because it was a long holiday before I entered Junior High. And since my parents allowed me to go to different cities now, I took the opportunity to leave home.
"Kacchan, it's really hard to find people when the only thing you know about them is that they have a tail," Deku said, walking beside me through the city.
We were in Chiba Prefecture. I was not sure which city we were in, but I knew we were far from home since Mustafu was in Shizuoka Prefecture.
I was even allowed to stay at a hotel here. I have my parental consent form and everything.
I am so fucking grown up already. Children my age haven't even watched porn yet.
"Let's just keep walking until we find him," I said kindly.
"But we'll never find anyone like that? There are thousands of people in the city," Deku said. He was always so worried.
"Don't worry, I have a plan."
It was true.
And my plan was perfect.
The plan was to bring Deku along with me. That's it.
It was simple, but that's the genius of it.
Deku was the main character, and whether he wanted it or not, he was a plot magnet. Important characters, disastrous plotlines and everything else would come to him if he just existed.
The only thing I needed to do was let him exist beside me, and I was bound to run into something eventually.
Villains, heroes, accidents, important characters, I welcome them all!
I turned to look at my plot magnet. To my surprise, there was a shoulder where I was looking, so I had to turn my head up and look to my equal side.
Deku was standing there.
The heartfelt motivational speech that was no less than the best talk no jutsu worked wonders for him, as he had been training hard these past six years. Of course, he wasn't as strong as me or looked as ripped, he was becoming a very tall and good-looking kid due to my influence.
Indeed, my awesomeness was not only great but also contagious.
To tell the absolute truth, he was becoming the perfect sidekick.
Through the years, he had even gone to many dojos and learned different martial arts. Obviously, I was the one who sent him there. But the fact that he could absorb techniques like a sponge and learn the art of fighting like second nature was all on his part.
I wanted to join a martial arts dojo as soon as possible. But like one would expect, my parents absolutely did not allow it. Martial arts was a place where one could fight, and they immediately thought that to be a bad idea.
So I had to let Deku go to a dojo and learn martial arts so he could show it to me and I could learn it that way.
But that only lasted about a few years as I quickly realised martial arts was not for me. It was a useless skill because of my quirk.
Martial arts was a form of fighting developed while keeping in mind the human body and its limitations. It was a mortal way of combat. I on the other hand had a quirk.
Imagine learning how to punch in the most effective and efficient way possible. How useless was it for me to learn that for hours on end when I could just explode my elbow and throw a super punch? Better yet, why did I need to even punch when I could blow shit up? The only thing I would throw are these nuclear hands.
Learning footwork? Learn how to close distance? Useless. I could just go boom on my feet, and I was a living rocket. And what's the use of footwork when I can fly now? And who would force a fight on the ground when they could fly?
But one could argue that martial arts can be useful to fight weaker villains. But why the hell would I even bother with weak people? That's why we have weak heroes and sidekicks.
In conclusion, the existing martial arts were useless for me. I learned only what I deemed to be necessary and could help in my fighting style. I never dived so deep as to master them like Deku did.
I found jiu-jutsu to be especially useless.
What I needed was actual combat experience so I could develop a style that was suited for me. While there were lots of extras, there was only one of me so I needed to do everything by myself.
"Ah, there's so much to do here, so many things to see!" Deku was finally looking like an excited child after I told him I had a plan.
"Look, Kacchan! That's the Backspace hero!" Deku said, pointing at patrolling heroes like a village kid.
Before I even knew it, he already had his notebook with him and he was scribbling like crazy while muttering to himself. After growing up with him, I could understand his eldritch language.
"His quirk is called Undo. It allows him to undo the actions of anything he touches!! It can go as far as 3 seconds, potentially even saving people from gunshots by touching their body. With his quirk, he is basically a god of close combat. He knows several martial arts as well. The only downside to his ability is that it works on stamina, and he needs to have perfect reaction to activate his quirk. If he is truly locked in, he cannot even die when he is shot! Not only that. His costume perfectly complements his ability. Since his quirk also works with people, after touching them, they are essentially trapped-"
Not just a plot magnet but also a Pokedex. He truly was a sidekick fitting of the number 1 hero.
I let him ramble as we continued to walk through the city. All cities were basically the same shit with a different layout. But it was what the monotonous city held and the people that made the atmosphere completely different.
But even that got boring real quick after a few hours.
Nothing happened so far.
Was my main character broken?
I pondered while looking forward. I didn't even want to look around anymore as I was busy with my thoughts. Eventually, I came to a realisation.
Of course!!
"Deku, take the lead," I said.
"What? What do you mean?"
"I said you should take the lead from now on. We will do whatever you want to do," I said. I roughly pulled him in front of me.
I had an evil grin on my face. "Go on, do your main character shenanigans and lead us straight to trouble!"
"Ah! I don't want to do that though!"
Deku led the quest from then on.
Truly, I was a genius because not even half an hour later, we saw a car speeding on the road, and it was being chased by multiple police cars.
"Haha! Good job!" I said before running after them.
"Wait, Kacchan! Wait for me!!" Deku screamed and immediately chased after me as well.
We ran faster than athletes in my past life. In the world of superpowers, the limitation of a normal human alone was insanely high. It could be said that those who worked hard could easily become superhuman even with a shitty quirk or no quirk.
"Deku, do your thing!!" I screamed.
After spending time with me for so long, he immediately knew what I meant.
"The villain should be trying to lose the police cars! He will try to turn right at the next intersection and lead them deeper into the city so that he can lose them through the underground roads!" Deku screamed behind me.
I smiled and grabbed Deku before blasting off from the ground and flying over the buildings. Then, I landed on a new road where the villain should be passing by if he actually tried to lead the police deeper into the city.
I stood in the middle of the road and dropped Deku like a sack of potatoes. I already had a wide smile on my face as I waited.
And before long, the villain actually did turn his car and came toward us. A dozen or so police cars were chasing after him.
"Come to papa!"
"No! Don't kill anyone, Kacchan!"
Of course I knew that. I was but a new man. A hero with a heroic nature.
I jumped and brought my feet up and blasted away. I didn't want to leave a crater on the road, hence I jumped first before flying out.
Deku moved too, as if reading my mind.
I flew straight towards the villain's car. I was like a living rocket with a rather scary grin on my face. Naturally, the villain did not want to hit me so he turned.
Seeing that, I adjusted my position mid-flight.
I blitzed past the car, my clothes touching the car since we nearly crashed into each other. Then I threw my hand under the car and released a weak explosion that was enough to throw one side of the car up.
With his front wheel turned and with my explosion, the car quickly twisted in the air and landed on its head. It began to slide on the road, sparks flying everywhere. It took a long time before the upside-down car lost its momentum and came to a stop after a small crash against the sidewalk.
Deku was already there, and he had also evacuated the civilians so that they wouldn't be harmed by the crash.
The villain quickly got himself out of the car and began running. Deku intercepted him almost immediately. He threw himself at the villain, and they both fell on the ground.
When I reached there, Deku was already taking his back and putting him in a chokehold with the useless skill known as jiu-jutsu.
"Don't come close!" Deku warned, and I dodged a yellow projectile that was aiming for my head. Deku quickly adjusted the villain and made him look towards the sky.
"He can shoot lasers out from his third eye at his forehead!! I saw him use it to get out of the car!!" he said.
Deku's legs were tightly wrapped around the villain's waist while his arms were putting the villain in a choke from behind. Deku made sure the villain looked towards the sky while simultaneously choking him out.
I crossed my arms and stood there. I was proud of what I was turning Deku into.
"Just stay there until the police come," I said, and then something clicked in my mind.
"We are in trouble,"
"You think!!!" Deku said from under the villain, who was now on the verge of passing out.
I shrugged, "Don't worry, though, I have a plan."
I took out my phone, which my parents bought me when I was 10. Then I called one of the only numbers I have on the phone.
"Hello Rumi! Remember how I said we were coming to Chiba?" I said, listening to the voice that came from the other side.
"We're already here, and we're kinda in trouble," I said, side-eyeing Deku, who tossed the passed-out villain away from him.
"I can see that,"
I heard a voice from behind. I turned, just in time to see Rumi jump down from the top of the building and land on the road.
"I knew you'd cause trouble the moment you said you're visiting me," she said with a sigh. She was wearing her hero costume, and she looked very nice.
"That means you were prepared then," I said, bowing exaggeratedly. "Please, help us. My mother cannot know about this."
She sighed with her hands on her hips.
