Gu Zean looked at the man's confident posture as if he would never lose. The desire to win instantly grew inside Gu Zean's heart.
"I don't even know who you are. Is there a need for such a big scene?" Gu Zean glanced at the bodyguards hidden in the dark.
"Kai. You can call me Mister Kai."
"Very well, I'll remember your name now. I am not very happy with the fact that you've laid your hands on my girl. The bet for this round would be for the loser to get on his knees and bow three times to the winner."
Mr. Kai chuckled. "Mr. Gu, you're indeed an interesting man. I have no reason to back out. However, if I win, I don't need you to bow to me."
Gu Zian narrowed his eyes and looked at the man ahead.
"Then, what do you want?"
"It's simple. Young master Gu, you would only have to take off your clothes and head over to the first floor of the basement and take a walk."
Hong Guozi stood by the side, looking down at the ground uneasily. She felt suspicious deep inside. Why did the boss have such a strong hostility toward young master Gu? If young master Gu really went for a walk without his clothes, he would be embarrassing himself in front of the entire city.
The first floor was packed and they were all people with connections.
"I'm afraid that this is Mr. Kai's first time in City A and you might not know about the Gu family. If you offend us, you'll have a hard time in the future." Gu Zean gritted his teeth. It wasn't that he didn't dare to take the risk but this would involve the reputation of the Gu family. How could he take it lightly?
"It's just a game. How can we enjoy ourselves when the bet isn't a huge one?" Mr. Kai extended his hand and the bodyguard beside him handed him a lit cigarette. "I heard that old master Gu is extremely strict. If he knew that young master Gu is addicted to gambling, I wonder ..."
"There's no need to say more, let's just bet." When the man mentioned his father, Gu Zean felt like he was being pinched at his weak spot.
"Sure. Deal the cards then."
There were two VIPs at the table who were extremely intimidating that the hands of the dealer were shaking. Gu Zean was furious. He was an impatient person and would look at the cards immediately once he got them. The foreign man sitting opposite him, who had been smiling calmly, sat without moving at all. His hand had not touched the table.
He read the expression on Gu Zean's face thoroughly and saw the sweat on his forehead. The man chuckled, flipped over his cards, and spread them out on the table.
"Young master Gu, thank you for letting me win."
Gu Zean's pupils shrank. Seeing the cards in front of him, his heart sank. "Mr. Kai's cards are great but this is only the first round. You shouldn't be so proud of yourself yet."
There were a total of three rounds in this bet and the winner would be the one who wins two rounds. He would not mess with his own momentum until the very end.
"Continue." Mr. Kai said gently.
"How about changing our seats?" Gu Zean didn't trust Mr. Kai. If Mr Kai didn't cheat, how could he have such good luck? The man's cards were perfect. The man turned his head and looked at Hong Guozi.
Hong Guozi naturally knew what Gu Zean meant, he wanted her to observe Mr. Kai's actions. A trace of slyness flashed through the woman's eyes and she bowed slightly.
After changing their seats, Gu Zean smiled with satisfaction. He waved his hand to signal the dealer to quickly deal the cards as if he was about to win.
Soon, the second round began.
This time, when Gu Zean flipped over the cards, his brows furrowed even deeper. Why did the cards become even smaller after changing his seats? He clenched the cards in his hand and looked up into the pair of dark eyes opposite him.
Suddenly, his mind was a mess.
"Looks like Mr Gu's cards are't that well."
Mr. Kai still didn't look at his cards until Gu Zean forfeited. Only then did he flip his cards.
Mr Kai's cards were smaller than Gu Zean's. If Gu Zian hadn't forfeited, he would have won for sure. However, Gu Zean forfeited and so he lost the game.
"You're cheating," Gu Zian pointed his finger at Mr. Kai. He couldn't stand the fact that Mr Kai never looked at his cards and always acted like he was at ease, causing Gu Zean to lose his sense of propriety.
"Mr. Gu, please be careful with your words. There are cameras all around here. How can I play any tricks?" Mr. Kai shrugged and tapped the table with his fingers. "There are three rounds in total and I won two. This last round won't change the situation even if we continued."
Gu Zean slammed the table and stood up. He was so angry that his scalp turned numb. No one has ever played tricks on him like this. Seeing how the scene unfold, Hong Guozi immediately held onto young master Gu's arm and said softly, "Master Gu, let's go. We can't afford to offend this man."
"Hmph! There's no one in this city that I, Gu Zean, can't afford to offend. Mr. Kai, how about another round?"
Mr. Kai leaned back in his chair and slightly raised his black eyebrows. He was indeed interested. "What do you want to bet on?"
"Why don't we increase the stakes? If I win this last round, Mr. Kai will strip naked and walk out of the Golden Crow casino. If I lose, I will pay you 50 million yuan."
Hong Guozi tugged at young master Gu's clothes but Gu Zean was like a stubborn donkey that couldn't be pulled back. He wouldn't listen.
"Of course, I'll play along but can young master Gu afford it? No matter how big the Gu family's business is, taking out 50 million Yuan at once is probably ..."
"Whether I can afford it or not, that's my problem." Gu Zean reached out his hand. He saw earlier how a cigarette was given to Mr Kai when Mr Kai extended his arm. However, when he did the same, no one handed him a cigarette. He frowned and scolded, "Where are the cigarettes?"
Mr. Kai laughed and lifted his chin in another direction. "Light it up for young master Gu."
Gu Zean took a deep puff of his cigarette and exhaled a mouthful of smoke to soothe the anxiety in his heart. He patted the table and said, "Deal the cards."
During the last round, he had also learned not to rush into looking at his cards. The two men at the table looked at each other and it looked like there were invisible swords that flew across the table.
The dealer was so nervous that he was drenched in cold sweats. The room was so quiet that even a simple gulp could be heard clearly.
"Hong Guozi, why don't you help me flip my cards?" Mr. Kai leaned back in his seat and had no intention of doing anything else. He asked someone else to do it in his gentle voice. The moment Hong Guozi heard this, she cowered and stepped forward. She was looking extremely scared.
This round was a gamble of luck. Whoever had better luck would be the winner.
Gu Zean pretended to be calm, but in reality, his eyes had long drifted to Mr Kai's cards. This was the first time that Mr. Kai had flipped over his cards. When he saw the cards, Gu Zean sneered. It definitely wasn't a nice hand.
"Mr. Kai's cards aren't great. It seems like we'll have to leave this door naked today." Gu Zean had always been someone who would drag others along with him even if he had to die.
Mr. Kai pursed his lips and smiled while his eyes remained calm. He raised his chin, indicating for Gu Zean to look at his cards. "Master Gu, you should look at your cards first before speaking so much."
Gu Zean was proud of himself. He stood by the table with his back straight. He supported himself with one hand on the table while holding onto his card with his other hand. Gu Zean always had good luck. Plus, he had never seen such a bad hand as what Mr. Kai had now ever since he entered the casino. Gu Zean threw the cards on the table without even looking at them.
He was extremely confident.
And was quite brave as well...
Hong Guozi was the closest to the cards. She looked at the cards on the table and her eyes widened. She straightened her neck and took a step back. She disappeared into the darkness and the room went silent.
Gu Zean suddenly leaned over and took a closer look. "F*ck! Were you cheating? I've never had such shitty cards!"
Mr. Kai smiled and shook his head. He stood up and wiped his hands with a handkerchief.
"Young master Gu, you don't have to lie to yourself. The cameras here can prove that I didn't cheat."
"Don't forget about our bet. Mr. Gu would have to walk around naked on the first floor of the casino and also..... leave 50 million Yuan here."
