Kane Sears glanced sideways at the back of Julius Goodman, his eyes cold and devoid of any warmth.
Julius Goodman was increasingly being valued by the teacher. At this rate, he might replace Kane's position here.
In the past, when Basil Palmer wasn't in the store, Julius Goodman and Kane Sears would take turns manning the counter. So seeing him greeting those customers, Julius directly went to his workbench to start carving jade.
Just after getting the preparations done, Kane came over and said to him, "You went out today. I manned the counter all afternoon and didn't have time to carve. Now that you're back, you should take over the shop for a while."
"Alright."
Without much thought, Julius took the initiative to keep an eye on the counter. Earlier, he chose to walk away, worried that Kane might think he wanted to steal his customers and take the commission. Since Kane was willingly letting him take over now, he'd do it.
